Hello,
With L2 reaching almost 2 years of service in NA, would a reward be justified for those long time players? I am talking about people that have been around from the beginning, the ones that have every chrono weapon, and never have given up on the game. (At the very least put those chrono weapons to good use.)
I think we should reward those that have been loyal customers, or at very least recognize them in a spot light here on the boards.
What would be a good reward?
I wont try and lie, I myself have been around for a very long time even playing every foreign release of this game until getting into closed beta and never looking back. Who else here have done this and never stopped playing. (A sad side note is that I have never gotten a toon above 70 ..)
long time players hit higher levels, visit harder places and get a whole range of chrono musical instruments (hooray)
I couldn't care less about long term players (I am one) rewards - Id rather they didnt bother even working on chronicles until a method is figured out to eliminate the b-o-t-s .
i've been playing since open beta...and something like this would be good too....long term players hit high levels and new places to hunt, but i can't because i don't have the tim eto spend on leveling to hit 70+ (i just hit agrade last week)
so an event for players with all 4 chronos would be cool...somehthing where you have to do a quest (4 parts) and you have to trade the chronos in for somthing at each part and at the end you get a "special" weapon...or armor...
that only long term player can have....an actual weapon that can be used too...not just something that looks cool....
llike for archers...have a cross bow, and for sword users have a whip, daggers have numchucks, staves/pole arm have jousting pole, and for blunts/wands/books have ... um i can't think of anything right now..but something...
and the weapon can be used and it will have the same Patk/Matk as you best weapon in your inventory so you can use it hunting ( this would depend on your class also)
that would be fun
several games ive played rewarded vet players
in UO every year in age your account had, the more stuff you got access too
it wasnt imba [censored] either, you could get etheral mounts or special stuff for your house, special armor colors etc
this way you didnt have an advantage for being a vet, you just looked better and had some cool perks
like the eth mount you got couldnt be killed if you dismounted it like a regular horse, stuff like that did have a type of advantage but wasnt imbalancing in any way
im not a vet player but i do support the idea of them being rewarded
I have 2 or 3 of each chrono :) When friends left they would give me all their stuff, so I have kept them, I think I need to put them someplace, cause I keep running out of warehouse space. 5 million each I'll take :P go down to one of each again, I gave a bunch away to clannies also so they could have the old stuff. Just like don't lose your world maps, they are valuable now *wink* they tell you where a special treasure is, that only shows up on the old world maps.
That's actually a great idea. Granted, I'm one of the people who will benefit from this, but still... Only thing about the prior suggestion that wouldn't fly, I wouldn't give up any of my current chronicle weapons. I would like to see a quest that checked that you had them and rewarded you for it. Unfortunately, people would borrow or buy them up to do the quest.
when you accomplish something worthy of note as in the case of Kirany and her wolves, let the big bad mystryl know. sarge did community spotlight on kiranya and her A grade wolves, when you go and do something great like that, we will do something for you too!

And those wolves are a sight to see, and I would take nothing from them. I play on the same server and have seen them! Even stole a screen shot or 2 with them! I should see if she will sign them for me! :D :o
Well, you do have a point, but going non-stop in this game for 2 years is something to be proud of IMO. I mean the avarage MMO player I assume does not stick with a game for that long. I know for me this is the longest played game ever, and I see no signs of stopping. How many others out there can clam L2 is their longest played game?
IMO 2 years is a long time in the game world, maybe I am wrong, but to the people that play this game with out quiting for a diffrent game is a loyal customer for sure, and I think loyal customers are rare.
give all 2 year old players been here since prelude with no deactivations in their account for more then 30 days (sometimes you cannot get a time card for week etc but more then 30 days it shows you took a break from the game) Cloaks.
Cloaks have no use but make it like Clan shield we can put our clan insignas on them because honstely archers tryants daggers pole users anyone who uses a two handed weapon would never be able to wear a shield.
What you think? *make them undroppable to binded to your toons* It dont give you an unfair advantage over other player but it makes you stand out from the crowds and show people you a long time vet regardless of class or level :)
They did something similar in CoH where veterans of the game got shining auras like Heros get here in L2.
Well I've played with two fairly langthy break since closed beta, but if NC really wanted to thank me, I would be content if theyenforced their own EULA and took an active stance against bots and farmers. Expecting NC to show any sort of decency or compassion is lunacy.

o.o-b
Oh a nice reward for all the long time players would be to:
-Fix bugs promptly (harr dee harr harr)
-Implement things that have been promised since launch / C1 / C2
-Do what I quoted from Lerondaya.
Though to twist his quote a bit 'to expect anything from NC is lunacy'. I don't expect anything anymore, I'm just more or less happy with what crap I get. :p
The fun that could be had with such a potion would be off the charts IMHO!!
How about those chrono's give extra inventory space! So say you have all four chrono weapons, you put the first one in your warehouse, you get 1 extra space. You put the second one in your warehouse you get 2 extra spots. You put the third one in and get 4 extra spaces. You put the fourth one in your warehouse and have 8 extra spaces.
You could also set each chrono weapon to add 2 inventory/warehouse spots for each chrono you have in inventory/warehouse, but make it limited to how many chronicles there are, so right now if you had all 4 chrono's in your inventory you would have at max 8 extra spots!
By C12 you would have a max of 24 extra spots in your inventory/warehouse.

To those who mentioned me in this thread: Thankies! :D
Regarding the post: I'd actually like to see a *non-tradeable/drop/destructable* cape with no stat changes. Purely ornemantal, but something that can be used to prove I'm not a noob. ;)
Isn't the reward for playing for a long time having a high level character and a bunch of chronos?
Almost all of C4 was added to reward the high level long time players of the game.
I don't understand why you think they'd change the system now to reward people who have managed not to hit the cancel subscription button. The rewards are there... castles, heroes, high level gear, killing level 20's around Gludin with impunity.
I like the cape idea but it should be available just like the wedding dress unless its a real status symbol and then it should have some accomplishment factor.
The game is all about timesink... there really are no other aspects to the game and to try to circumvent that defeats the entire purpose.
The new areas are a reward? You're kidding right? It was either they put in more high level content, or all the high levels would quit because there wasn't anything else to do.
hmmm good idea, almost, but what about people who had all 4 chronos and then lost one through different means? for example i am missing the first chrono due to the foolishness of me giving it away >.<
