Mechanical Golem is a summon pet that you can use while you exp or fight against other players. It's a small barrel on wheels that you control and command to hit targets or spit fire at em :)
At lvl 28 the golem is fairly expensive to use and I'd suggest you start using it at a later lvl since imho it's only needed in pvp unless you want to spend lots of adena and solo with a golem out.

Now since this my first "pet", can it be killed? and if so what happens to it when it is killed?
Why would it be expensive adena wise? The skill said it uses d crystals. Are u saying it would be expensive to buy d crystals to operate it?

But you can resummon it even after it is killed. Unlike pets like hatchlings and wolves which need resurrections to avoid being permenantly lost, the golem can die and be resummonned forever.
It is great when hunting reds, too. Send it after the red while you run to safety (or attack also, as appropriate). You can also have it clear aggro out of your way by having it runt to the aggro then run away, leaving the way clear for you. This is expensive, of course.
By expensive I generally meant the summoning cost and the operating cost of the golem. Summoning it takes a set amount of Crystals and maintaining it takes more. If you use pet SS for it to enhance the dmg it deals it will be fairly expensive for a lvl 28 character unless you're a reroll or know how to really make adena ;)

i wouldnt suggest clearing agro in this way after C4... summon/pet agro transferrs to the player once your pet dies now, and the other way around as well, can be a bit dangerous. if, however you wish to make your golem hold agro for a minute while you scroll to town or something similar, assuming its HP holds out that works fine :P monsters cant follow a scroll

I just read that now the golems use C crystals in C4 and not D crystals. Now I can see where it would be expensive to operate the mechanical trashcan..
You are correct. At lower levels the skill is cost prohibitve to a new player. At higher levels it will be important to use the golem. With golem/petss/petbsps a warsmiths damage per second is greatly increased.
Golems now require C cyrstals It says d in pet summon But it was changed to C crstals in C-4 They on average cost 3,000 ea. If you have money to spare and cant find some c crystals You wil have to crush some thing C grade. HMMM were do i get that ? well i tell you how you will have to craft c grade duals to do this
1) Buy 2 Sword of Revolutios from girin weapon shop
2) have Blacksmith in town make them
3) CRUSH.
You cant crush yet so find a very Trustworthy warsmith If you on sieghardt give me pm. and if trust is what you want hell i give 3mil to hold so you know you can trust me. Then I return you C crystals back to you(crystal count is around 1,400 ) but i wont robe you . and you return my 3 mil if we did at that way .I know it hurts but its the fastest way to get crystals and what you dont use sell for 3,000 you break even. Unless the tax is at 15% for the town of Girin then you may want to wait .Dont buy the swords you loose out. Try and find private store selling C crystals ost likely they had failed enchant and are trying to get some money back . Hope this helps

Is that true for artisans as well as warsmiths? I haven't summoned one on my little d-grade crafter since C4 launch, but the skill says it's a d-crystal.
Yep My son Hit lvl 28 the other day and tried using it i had to log in my dwarf to give c crystals . Only problem is my son 7 and thinks they free and uses his litle buddy when he not supossed to. So i have to put him to work opening closing the clan hall door hehehe, sense my dwarf is an alt and can't get clan rigth because I too am the clan leader. Aint I nice Dad. But yes the wording is wrong unless the patch tuesday fixed it . I dont use mine that much because the agro now come back to me if the guy dies. :( sucks
i keep telling ppl this is a bug
the lvl 28 golem cost nearly as much to run as a lvl 40 one
not to mention you cant crystalize c which goes against everything a ws stands for (that is being self sufficient)
at higher lvls you wouldnt bother killing a mob without the golem
but keep in mind it cost me 50k worth of c crys to run and 120+ adena per pet ss so it aint exactly cheap
im doing trials today to see if i actually break even
please report this to the gms as a bug cause im pretty sure thats what it is

Are you sure this is the cheapest way? I remember calculating and comparing - and I ended up using dual Cimson Swords instead as it was slightly cheaper than dual SoR.
