The initial situation was based on a real life issue.. involving someone's *wife*, of many years.. not their "girlfriend". It was supposed to begin and end between the two people involved. That's it.

Unfortunately certain individuals from AG got involved - in a personal issue - and starting group ganking our member - about 5 times - basically claiming they would continue to and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Got that? AG couldn't leave it alone and chose to escalate it. Not Patriots. Not Aegis.

And it did not even stop there. Apparently Officers in AG began running their mouth at Achyliss, our leader, saying some *extremely* crude and personal things about the Patriots member involved *and* Achyliss's gf which, I'm sure would immediately get the offenders kicked from LII if reported. Yes.. that personal. That crude.

Beyond that, they began insulting Achyliss, telling him he didn't know how to play, he's a moron.. and so on. So, Achy told them to put their money where their mouth was and come on outside a town to fight it out - one on one.

Then, an AG Officer said, to paraphrase, "I will put AG against you any day. You are s..t". So.. we did.. We got all our members together and headed out to EV, where they said they'd be. They were nowhere to be found. A short time later, AG backed down, saying something like "we don't have time for you".

Eventually, it culminated in what happened last night.

So... no.. This is not about a personal issue - or it should not have been. This is a direct result of people in AG not leaving a 1-on-1 issue remain that way. Running their mouths, challenging our leader, and proceeding to say some extremely awful stuff... I mean.. things you dont' even say to another human being - in a game or otherwise.

So if you want to know why a "personal rl issue" was escalated into what it is now.. Look no farther than Avalon Guard.

I know this is probably not a "popular" solution, but besides actual ingame politics, this smacks of the "harassment" that one is not supposed to do ingame.

I see so many people complaining about harassment that isn't harassment "he pk'ed me", "she scammed me". etc.

But when there is "real" harassment people forget that there is a recourse.

In any event, sorry to hear that people are having real life issues. It's a shame because a game is supposed to be just that... a game.. a diversion.

What proof do you have to back all of this up? I would love to see it. If your story is true, then it will be dealt with. Our members have never "group ganked" anyone, im not sure why all of a sudden...we just decided to now. I see very little truth in your statement. This whole thing started from a RL issue, yes....and the next thing i know is i hear my people are getting killed randomly..people that dont even have a clue about whats going on. Three on one kinda kills too. I suggest that unless you are a leader of your alliance, or an official spokesperson, then you keep your lies to yourself. My people will not speak out of line on this matter anymore either. Its a joke to me that a RL issue will try to bring down the integrity of my alliance. So, if you have a problem with my people personally...you bring it to me. I will not waste my time talking to random people though....your leadership can address me..perhaps they will have their side of the story straight at that time....and by all means...please send me screenshots or proof of any sort. I don't think it was the leadership i think it was a few rogue individuals running vigalante. I find the AG Leadership (for the majority) to be a good , healthy group who don't seek to do evil. But then again I am no longer apart of AG so this is just on my past experience.

Yes. There are screenshots of the comments. They have been emailed to the appropriate people - those directly involved and personally affected. No, they will not be posted here because they involve personal matters and people's names. Not fodder for public consumption. I know it's not uncommon for people to post such personal screenshots and such here, thinking it's "cool" or whatever.. But out of respect for individuals involved - on at least one side of the situation - they will not be posted here.

Now, if the individual who took them chooses to post them, then that's their decision. Personally, I don't see it happening.

I totally agree that all this is ugly needless drama and I am not real happy that our clanmate's RL issue got brought in game. I feel worse it was brought here to the forums! I feel its on the weird side actually. We could not control his actions nor is it our place to, which if you knew the story justifies RL action. But that isn't what the battle was about.

We in no way feel this is a reflection of everyone in Avalon Guard. There are many awesome people in that alliance.The action last night was the result of extremely vile comments by that AG leader. And I mean overthetop vile. I apologise to those in AG that lost XP, but to those who showed up to support this Scumbag in the battle, sorry....but you took the risk. We were there to back up our leader and kill...not have a fair PvP. We didn't smack talk, we just did what we were challenged to do by this AG Clan leader! If AG members feel they must continue to support this guy then there will be more of the same I am afraid. I think when you read what this guy said, you might not feel so proud and will understand why we felt so angry.

When Achyliss gets home I am going to have him mail me the SS's of the comments and post them on our clan public forum, with his permission, anyone who wants to read it will have the option.

Rude comments from certain alliance officers and/or their alts escalated this to the position it is in.

While I would like to keep my alliance out of this, I know all of the parties involved in it. And I know how some of them act, and some of thie things they are tempted to say and do. While the majority of AG seems to be fairly nice, I do know that two of the ocfficers involved have a tendency to run their mouths and to escalate problems. That being said, I will say the same thing I said to Legionaires when KoS joined their alliance: Do your homework on a clan before inviting them into your alliance.

I have nothing personal against the officers from AG that caused this to escalate, and won't hold against them what they say or do. That is every much their right as it is any other player's right. But if you are going to talk bad about another player, then it is best that you make sure you have the fortitude to stand by your convictions, the courage to see through what you started, and the conviction to stand by your beliefs.

What I find amusing is the fact that noone will send them to me. Ive been waiting, yet nothing. Ive made the statement that if someone in the AG alliance is found to be out of line and unprovoked...then they will be dealt with, yet all this so called proof...cant seem to find its way to me.

Does a clan have to have a non rl reason to start a fight with another can? As so many people say to me all the time: This is a PvP game. Anybody can do whatever he pleases to another ingame just for the heck of it. Does it matter that someone brought a rl issue into the game?

But maybe Sovrath is right and does an accident like this fall under harassment. I personally doubt it, but I would say, talk to support about this.

I was a victim in this fight between two players, three players.. whatever. I logged on, helped out an ally member with A shots. Then logged on my summoner to continue to lvl, and all I did was port out of town.. and before my screen was even complete.. i was PK'd. So as an "innocent" who knew nothing of your fight, why did I have to get the brunt of it. Because I share an ally tag? No, you should keep your fight with the people you are upset with not other players who have no idea at the time why they were PK'd.

Your clan member and an ally member of AG not leader of AG brought a real life issue into the game, and it was escalated to major proportions.

While I fully understand your concern with protecting your alliance from further harm and disruption, being callous about things does not benefit your alliance at all..

I will be sad when AG is no more, because of the actions and responses from a couple of the members in the alliance. There are many good people in AG, and the alliance itself has much potential to be great. I just wish people would think about the way they phrase things when dealing with issues that carry a heavy undertone of emotion.

Please dont try to read into it more that what I actually said. It is an honest question. One member of your alliance stated that my guys did group ganking in your alliance. This is the only thing ive heard about this. I want to take care of an "bad apples" in my alliance, yet we do have proof of random pks of innocents from your alliance. All i would like to know is if this will be dealt with or is this something that your alliance allows and/or promotes. My guys arent allowed to pull gankings on people and will be dealt with immediately. We both know that there are more than one person at fault here...please dont play innocent and that this is one sided...cause everyone knows its not. My guys will be dealt with the moment I have proof and it can be talked over with the council....all i wanted to know was ...if you would do the same.

you are right! There is more than one person at fault here. The RL issue was brought into game...which imo it shouldnt have. Sorry, can't take that back though. You're ally was attacked by our clannie for being a snake to his wife, and taunting him as well in chat. Sorry, we couldnt control that either.
The wronged Patriot is a dorf, so not much good for PvP and died of course. So other clannies not knowing what was all goin on stepped in to help. So yep, ganks happened. Started by a weird IRL issue. Shouldnt have happened. Sorry bout that too.

No, you should keep your fight with the people you are upset with not other players who have no idea at the time why they were PK'd.

Your clan member and an ally member of AG not leader of AG brought a real life issue into the game, and it was escalated to major proportions.

And about innocents being attacked with no knowledge of the issues, I just have this to say:

Whether you are aware of the issues or not, this escalated to something alliance-wide. As a member of an alliance, you bear both the advantages and disadvantages of your alliance. Whether you like this or not. It happens that in this case it was a major disadvantage to you, so you are mad that you got pk'd by a member of an alliance who has issues with your alliance. That is the price you have to pay for being in an alliance at times. Whether either side had valid reasons is not enough to justify your involvement. You being in the alliance justifies your involvement. And nothing personal against you, but if you don't like it, then leave and you won't have that issue to deal with. I will make the assumption that you will stay behind your alliance from what I know about you. That is completely your choice, and bears the consequences of that choice whether you agree with them or not.

Being in an alliance means more than just some people to party with. Our server has large, well-formed alliances. Other servers do not have this like we do. This type of things makes you think a little harder about what your goals in the game are. It IS a PvP game, and while not everyone likes PvP, it does happen, and there isn't much that can be done about it. Especially when people's emotions and pride are at stake.

And just to clarify a little further Arthos, I am not in Aegis alliance. I have many friends on both sides of this issue, including everyone that is directly involved with it. I would prefer to keep the peace on the server than to have mass chaos. That is not always a feasible option however.

Well, we shall see what happens when Achyliss returns home this evening nonetheless.

your doing more harm to your alliance and your names than your doing good. You hurt your own growth and smere your names with drama and conflict.

The very creation of this post is foul in nature, because now your names are in the public eye, and leave your alliances to unspoken judgement.

You scare off potential and possibly would be allies or clan members with your petty bickering and howling for proof. To allow an incident so filled with drama to spew onto the public floor for all to see is shame on itself. So for the sake of your alliances I request a cease fire and take this to private messages or emails where it belongs. It would be wise to heed my words if you don't it does no harm to me. If there is PVP that needs to be done then let it be done , but no reason for it to be here.

This has to be the most disturbing post i've ever read. my sympathies to any aggrieved parties. I hope things work out, and mental peace can be found. I personally find real life pain to be more important than game leveling. So please be kind about getting upset about what happens to your game character, when someones life might be falling apart. Reasonable people arent going to start an alliance fight cause of rl issues. most people wouldnt want to touch it with a ten foot pole. most likely someone couldnt stop running their mouth. that would make someones friends start a group fight rl issue or not, escpecially if they are having a rough time

I agree. Well put. I would prefer this issue didn't come into the forums - it's bad enough with where it's gone in-game. But.. someone brought it here, and posted without having the full picture. I wanted to make sure the situation was presented as it happened. Not based on 2nd or 3rd-hand information.

While this whole thing is disturbing, I find an even more heinous underlying tone here that L2 has spawned and is mirrored IRL.

Being a part of the U.S. military, we have learned to deal with the equality (physically) between a woman and a man. We are taught equality on all levels, and it is drilled into us on a daily basis through interaction with the opposite sex. However; when the apple goes sour, you will always revert to mother nature's way of handling things. The man MUST protect the woman, regardless of fault or full info. This is the basis of the argument on why women in the military should not be allowed in combat. When they fall, the man will automatically stop his mission to see to his fallen comrade, whereas if it is a man next to him, he naturally adjusts his mission to overcome the fallen comrades area of responsibility.

In L2, I have seen the uninformed and (dare I say) *****/immature/young nature take over at the first insult to a woman. I have no clue what happened here, but it looks like a clan jumped to the defense of the wife for being mistreated IRL. The actions ensuing are tearing apart an alliance.

Whew! So much to read and so little time. I must say that this is the part of the game that I like the least. Why! Oh Why! [everyone together] Why can't we all just get along! [thanks]

Yea, this kind of thing sucks. But, let's face it. In all likelyhood, this will never be sorted out to everyone's satisfaction. Such is the nature of emotionally charged conflicts.

However, I will render one opinion, let's not beat up people too much for bringing RL influences in the game. The diversity that we all bring, the personality that we all bring, the influences that we all bring from the RL is what supports the game longevity that we enjoy. We all need to bring a little RL in with us to keep the game interesting. But there is a line...this event sure crossed it.

It sound like this thing was just about resolved, that the people closest to problem had agreed to keep it simple and keep it quiet. Then a few inconsiderate people publicized a painful private problem [how's that for alliteration]...escalation ensued.

I think the real tragedy here, is that losing your spouse is a terrible terrible thing. I can only imagine how painful it is for all concerned. I believe that it is likely difficult enough that it just should'nt be used as a reason for anyone else to pile-on more agonizing drama. It's got to be hard enough already on the people involved that we really should not use the one place where people can escape from the hardships that they are facing in RL and use it as a place to pile-on.

So, I say...take a breath...have a beer...and [one more time together]...Why can't we all just get along!
