Different subject...dwarfs! All spoilers welcomed

^.^ I like muh mage classes (mostly go with SH and PS) but I also love my dwarfs. It's thanks to my BH and my WS that I'm able to afford the gear I have now, and afford two clans (1 just for the extra WH space for my WS ^^) and now I'm making more dwarfs! 3 more to be precise, all on the same server. That makes a total of 5 (4 spoilers, 1 WS). And I need help on making a decision...

From what I gathered reading past threads concerning spoiling if you have a level 28 spoil and you delvl to 20 and face the level 20ish mobs it spoils less often then the spoil you used at 20/24. Is this correct?

If yes to the above then thats the whole reason why 4 spoilers. I need to find out good spoiling areas and the level ranges my dwarfs should be in those areas, and also what their skill levels should be at to get the best chance of spoiling! One of my spoilers, my first BH, will always be the same level as my WS, so I need help deciding where to place my other 3 for the rest of their life ^.~
Bump. Any dwarfs wish to share their favorite spoiling spots? And also I would really love it if I knew 100% certain wether or not higher level spoils decreases the spoiling chance of lower level mobs.
i cant be fully certain cause i aint much of a delvler
but my opinion is lvl 2 spoil will land slightly better on lower mobs after delvling
that doesnt mean you get more spoils just a better chance to spoil the mob

Yeah this holds true, I de lvl...lots and lots. Good Stuff.

So the rumor I've heard back in C3 is false? Lets say if I had a spoil of level 4 (learned at level 36 scavenger) and delvled to 20 and I was spoiling the mobs at Dion, I would actually increase my chances of spoiling?

If you deleveled under 26 you'd only have the level 28 spoil (spoil 3) in use.
You lose all skills earned 10 levels above your current level.
So to effectively spoil 20ish mobs just get to 28, get skills but NOT Spoil 3 and then delevel.
Why stay with spoil 2? It takes less mp to spoil and it lands better at 20ish mobs.
But Dion mobs are around 25 arent they (Hobs, PH)? Then spoil 3 would be better I think.

also true for some mages
on pts my necro was 2 hitting mobs
lvled up went to get skills guess what? still 2 hitting mobs
mobs gave best xp so i wasnt going to move

same holds true for delvling scavs my spoil 1 worked okish at lvl 25 on white mobs if i had spoil 2 im sure it would be nearly 100% land rate
why get spoil 3?
Oh yes...I keep forgetting about that patch where if you de-lvl more then 10 levels you start losing skills learned. Well I guess that answers that portion of my questions. Now I just need to figure out where to sit my 4 spoilers at different places to be spoiling. My WS owns a clan (level 1 only for extra clan WH and easy transferring mats) and the 4 spoilers are, ofcourse, in the clan. o.o
Mana is definately a thing to be considered... I think you might be better off spending a second spoil on one in 10 mobs than using 5 more mana on each.

On the other hand I never deliberately deleveled any of my chars. So what do I know... good luck with your business tho. :) Hope you make lots of money.

Cal has it right.

If you level to 28, do not take your new spoil skill before you delevel.

For starters, it doesn't actually increase your chance of spoil landing or the mobs turning blue. What it does do though is increase your MP consumption by alot, and since you will have MP max and regen of a lvl 20 toon, this will be bad for you.

It is good to take all of your other lvl 28 skills because the extra masteries will help you kill faster and longer.

Typically I find that if the mobs you are spoiling are white to you, spoil lands almost 100% of the time. Whether or not the mob turns blue is a factor of the spoil rate of the items that mob spoils. There is nothing you can really do to increase the rate of the mobs turning blue. You can decrease it though.

If you spoil dark blue mobs, spoil will land about 100% of the time, but you will find the mobs pretty much never turn blue.

Typically the higher the mob is above your level, the lower the chance of spoil actually landing. (you know the message that the mob has been spoiled.) I find that white or yellow mobs spoil close to 100%, pink is prolly 80%ish, after that, the percent of spoil drops way off.

In a nutshell, if you have a target mob that you want to spoil, you will get the best results if you are +/- 6 levels to that mob. ie.. it is between green and yellow to you.

Also worth noting, there are all kinds of rumors about buffs that make your spoil land better. They are all BS. There is one buff that affects spoil in any way, and that is haste. If you have haste, in any of it's forms including potions, it will make your spoil cast faster, and the reuse timer will be shortened. I believe atk speed is related to how fast you cast spoil and how long the reuse is on it.

Happy Spoiling!!
Thank you all for your help and replies. Time to get to work!
