Hello all i would like some help about choosing the right dyes for lvl52+ sk.Doom heavy set gives me -3 str and +3con so im thinking of -1 str +1 con dye and -2 dex +2 con...some might say dont change ur stats because of the high dmg SK does(41 str base stats) but if i leave con at 32 or 35 with doom i'll become a very good friend with stun :p If anyone has got a good opinion in combination pve and pvp plz let me know...thnx in advance

It appears that you are seeking to max out CON in order to prevent from being stunned. Not the best idea. What you are essentially doing is turning into just another meat shield, and not a very good one. If that is the case, you chose the wrong class. I suggest re-roll to a pure tank class.
SK's are not defensive tanks by design. They are offensive tanks with awesome drains and debuffs and cubix to boot. I know the term "offensive tank" is an oxymoron, but just humor me anyway. Do not further decrease STR or DEX if you can help it. The set bonuses for BW and Doom Heavy will do that for you. Increase those stats -- or go completely without tatoos altogether -- if you want to be an effective SK.
Still doubt us? Ok, go ahead and max out your CON and keep your Doom Heavy. Don't be too surprised if you continue to get stunned/slept/shocked. Why? Because it will take you longer to kill PVE with reduced p.atk and crit values, thus giving the mobs more chances to stun/sleep/shock you. No amount of CON that is yet possible will completely prevent this from happening. That is why the DE philosophy is to hit hardest to end the engagement quickly, because you're not designed to take a beating.
And this applies double for PVP.
I disagree with getting duals unless they are +8 or higher. Go with a shield and a Focus weapon. Don't try to be the vanguard of any attack. Pick your spots and take out the enemy's assets first. Drain and Debuff any opposing tanks if you see them engaged with one of your number. Rumor has it that SK's aren't any good against archers and daggers, but I've found that not to be the case in my experience. Finally get a bow and use it whenever you are forced to UD.

The most successful SKs I've seen are HP based SKs. Doom heavy, +5 con -5 Str. Keep your dex for shield block rate. Then, in PVP, you play like a nuker. SKs have a zillion nukes and debufs, and a force para. Ya can't really beat that, so play to it's strength. I know four or five HP based SKs, and they just decimate people. For tanking, HP is extremely important. For PVP, hp is extremely important.
I've seen an HP built SK take on a Str-based Sk, and win without breaking his HP.
Grab a magic weapon, like a SoM (with acumen), and you'll be even better off. I've seen HP-SKs go with the low-A grade mage weapon with the Para SA, or the Empower SA, both to great effect. An overenchanted homunkulus really won't cut it, because you need patk as well.
To trump everything, an SK, you have hex. If you're fighting mobs your level, hex will land almost every time, and that will make up for any -str you've done.

no... sry
I've seen an sk switch to a shield (w/ no weapon) and run to an archer... when he got close he switched to a two handed sword and start tearing him apart ...
the pure offensive build of the sk is a great way to go, and one that i would highly reccomend... the fact that you don't reccomend it means nothing... getting the magic weapon is another build that I've heard works... it is deffinately a legit build on an sk... but so is a pure offensive build... if you want to reccomend it, reccomend it, but don't start to believe it is the only way to go...
Good points, although I think at A grade an SK can go HP and tweak some things (like using mage weapons) and still be effective no matter what. But at B grade I'd choose offense every time.
Oddly enough, back in the day, I pit my offensive SK against an HP-based SK and all he could do was bleed all day long. :D Granted, this was arena only (and those of you who are diehard can stop reading at this point), but it was all I needed to know. He was in Doom with an OE AOBA. I was in BW with OE dual SLS. No, not your typical setup. He had the edge in hp, but i had haste and a better p.atk. weapon.
Both of our hexes landed, but I was able to get in a Power Break as well. Neither of our LS landed but my vamp cubic fired at the right time as where his didn't. Also at the time I had a +4 int dye, which made my Life Leech a bit more effective. So he was spewing out HP and I was glad to take it.
In the end what the battle really came down to was chance and choice of weapons. If his LS would have landed, I would have been toast. If his cubics would have fired more often, I might have been toast. If he had more crits on me, I would have been toast. We both agreed not to use any other pots, scrolls or outside buffs, but if we had, I probably would have been toast.
But then again, maybe not.
I also dualed with a TK 5 levels above me with that same set up. No I didn't win all of the time, but just enough that the TK kept me in mind when a vacancy arose in his clan. I am a big proponent of the offensive-minded SK...if equipped and played right.
i sugest this +4 str -4 con helth wep and Bw set im 70+ but thats what i use when soloing or small grping around 900 p def and over 1k patack when fulley buffed with zerk with that set up i have been able to destroy any mele class ( orcs are still a bit of a chalange due to the fact theay get a better slow then us ) i have even wone 2v1's and 3v1's all around the same level for pvp with archers or when tanking in large grps keep the tats and wep but get a NM set with the nm set a helth wep + resst arrow archers in 1 on 1's are not too much of a chalange ( over 1.1k Pdef in nm set ) tho dont expect to taske on more then one at a time lol
alot of peope say focous weps etc well focous weps for a sk str build are only good in 1 on 1's but if you want to do bigger battles or xVS1 you need the extra helth. tho i am looking in to getting a haste wep for pve havent gotten one yet tho so cant say how it works with that build. personaly i love the helth nothing makes a crappy day wonderful then 3 70 tnaks vs you and you winning :)
I see 2 possibles builds to go as a SK in B grade, and 1 variation.
STR based : You use a BW for the stats, and get your STR even higher with tats, getting to the max with -CON and possibly -DEX. As a weapon you either use a focus sword for even more damage or a health weapon to compensate your lack of hp because of the -CON.
My opinion : This build seems like the way to go if you solo a lot in PvE, as long as you choose your mobs wisely and don't over-aggro. But even if you do, chance are that you'll kill the mobs quick enough to survire, the reason to use this build is after all to kill as quick as you can. I guess in pvp against other melee this build can be good, except that you probably get stunned a lot, but if you survive the stun you'll probably kill your opponent. The bigger problem I see in pvp is that with this built a ranged opponent will probably kill you a hundred times before you get to him, your low hp make you faster to kill.
CON based : This one is the tank build, you get Doom Heavy, and with tats you max your CON, I wouldn't touch my DEX here, just the STR, your DEX will be important for your shield. The choice of weapon is less important here I guess, I'd go with a Focus weapon to try to keep aggro.
My opinion : If you party a lot and are expected to be the tank, this is probably the build to use, anyway in a party you are not the DD. As for PVP against other melee I don't know, your advantage is that you don't get stunned as easily as a STR SK, but you take more time to kill your opponent. Against ranged opponents you'll probably have the time to get to them in time because of your higher hp, and since their pdef is usually low, chances are that you'll be able to kill them.
The Mage variation : This variation is to use your SK more as a mage than a fighter. You take one of the 2 other builds (I'd go with the CON one since your patk is less important), you get +INT -WIT tats and a mage sword with Acumen. When you fight you mainly use your ranged attacks, drains and debuff to kill (a SK have alot of thoses).
My opinion : ....Ok I don't really have an opinion about this one. Probaly a good way if you want to be an hybrid melee/nuker.
Note that this post is strictly speculations from my part, using the informations I found here.
SK's are knights, so they should play like knights and not try to be DD's. Anyway i dont believe knights should even touch their stats as all 3 (str/dex/con) are vital for the class. Let armour bonus take care of it. Id say wear OE'd zubei or doom as a SK in B grade, then NM heavy @ A grade.

I initial focused very much on my patk. But it seemed I could tear mobs apart in PvE, but I didnt last long in PvP (health SA is definently essential to this build) But health SA is a bit of a boost in HP, and CON is a boost to HP, CP, stun resist, bleed resist.
Although I absolutely think STR SK is a viable choice. The whole thing that attracted me to a tank in the first place was being a hard target. I like to feel as invulnerable as I can, and SK dots, and debuffs, as well as offensive magic, help to suppliment any -STR. A focus weapon also helps to compensate for -STR without any downsides.
I am most happy with my new build, I have recently gone nuker SK. That way I can have tank stats, be very resistant, and long lasting, and my debuffs and nukes can do most of my damage for me. And to help with those nukes I have gotten a magic power mage sword. I feel I have the best of both worlds now. I can do lots of damage and still be a very sturdy tank.
