Im nearing the lvl 52 mark and am in the market for a weapon. Ive always been set on getting sls*tsu +4 but my friend who plays a high lvl sws has recomended to me that i may want to go HP duals, because the alliance that i will be joining is at war with 30+ clans and the 2 main alliances on my server. What would you suggest? I know the HP duals will help me survive longer....but is it worth the damage lost by loosing focus?
Thanks for any and all replies ( cept for the ones with useless crap ;) ).
spirit*spirit +4 will work for hp if you don't have a lot of money... at 52 u are prolly to low to kill anybody anyway... oh and focus > haste for pvp... don't let the haters tell u anything different.
i havent got anything near the amount of mnoey i would need for both =p, and atm im useing raid*sprit +4. So if i could only get one...go focus?
Don't you just love it when they say "Get both!!" Eventually you will earn enough adena or get cool enough drops to afford 2 weapons. Maybe even three.
But judging by many of the responses, it looks like it doesn't really matter what you get. After all, as mentioned earlier, if you're only 52 and every warring clan that you face is 15 to 20 levels higher up the food chain, then you are going to die. We could equip you with a +18 Claw of Antharas and that fact won't change.
So what we have is a philosophical question, not a technical question. To use a baseball analogy, you can either die swinging (in other words, go with a Focus or Haste weapon) or just sit there and let the pitcher throw strikes (in other words, get a Health weapon). Me, I like to go down swinging. My SK made use of a Focus weapon and a Haste weapon after briefly flirting with a Health weapon. Just wasn't for me. Once you figure out the type of player you are, your weapon choice becomes much easier.
Chance to crit is roughly crit/1000, and when you crit, you deal at LEAST double damage, thus making a crit equivalent to an extra attack.
So, basically if your crit is 100, 10% of the time, you get an extra attack...so basically your attack rate is sped up by 10%.
This, a weapon which adds +60-+80(6%-8% more attacks) to your crit rate is far superior to a weapon which only adds about 4% to your attack speed.
Then when you add buffs on top of that which will further raise your crit rate, or raise your crit damage multiplier...these weapons REALLY start to shine.
Plus, if you like being frugal, a crit rate weapon will cost you the same amount of soulshot as every, and you'll kill faster.
A haste weapon, since you'll be swinging faster, will eat through your soulshots faster.
So, Focus is usually better than haste, Focus is usually cheaper than haste...
