I was wondering where is the Beast Farm? i heard it mentiond a few times. Also if you got a pet from there they all start out low? or sertain lvls if you have the money or something.
I believe it's just north of that town north of the sea of spores. Clear, eh? :]
I think so :p thanks
Head up to Ruun or Rune Castle Town and you can port to the Beast Farm from the Event Gatekeeper. CAUTION: I wouldn't go unless you were lvl 60+ maybe 65+. Bring a healer/buffer while your trying to train a pet, Buy Spice (There are two kinds, both work. Not sure what the difference is though.) from the seller there, feed either the baby cougar, or the baby buffalo until it's trained. *This is where the healer comes in* the baby will begin to attack you while ur feeding it. Now two things may happen, it might become trained and it might become an uber kitty in which if it becomes uber, then you have to kill it before it kills you. Once it's trained though, it will give you 3 random buffs and heal you when ur hp gets low, or if it feels like it. DON'T forget heal pots though, because the heals are not reliable. I've died several times waiting for him to heal me.

The trained pet only lasts for prob 20minutes. If while u have a trained pet and you train another, the previous pet will disappear. If your referring to the new perma-pets that you can level, those quests are in Dion and Giran.

Ungrateful little buggers, aren't they.

Don't forget the baby kookaburra (maybe different spelling), the two headed bird.
Good explanation Draknar.

In addition to the cougar and buffalo, you can also train the kukaburra (not sure if I spelled that right.) The kukaburra recharges MP rather than heal. It recharges for more mp than a level 60 SE. So with the kukaburra and an SE a mage could conceivably go on forever, with no down time. Problem with that is that the mobs aren't concentrated, they are all spread out and there seems to be few of them, compared to other areas I hunt in.

As a side note, the first time I tried to train one it worked. The second time however, I kept feeding it but it just kept hitting me. After a few minutes of it refusing to be trained, I decided to kill it. Apparently all that food really works because it was like 6x hp and gave me 18k xp (and 16k for my lower level SE in party.) I thought that was cool, although I don't think it's worth it to feed them on purpose just for extra xp. :p
You get heals or recharges acording to what class you are. My PS on test server was geting mage buffs (btm, acumen and i think ww) and recharges from both bufallo and kity.

Ahh, that's cool. However, my trained kukaburras never did buff me. They just recharged me.
I never got buffs from them either. They don't bother to buff you if you already have buffs.

They give HP give you're a fighter and MP if you're a mage. This distinction is both nice and annoying. I get MP so I can heal myself... but it doesn't think I want VR because I'm a Prophet. :( Arrgh...
If you're a mage, the pet will regen your mp, if you're a fighter it will heal your hp.

You target a mob, and feed it. It will grow. Retarget the mob and feed it again and it will grow again. You have to do this process 4 times to get a fully grown pet.

If it's trained, the name will reflect that. If you fail to train it, it will continue to attack you, except now it really hurts. The fully grown mob that wasn't train will give around 30000 xp after killing it. Warning these mobs grow to be either a nuker or a melee type. If it's a melee type it has a very effective and long lasting stun.

As a level 71 SH this spot is perfect for me. I don't have a se buffbot so I will usually get emp, ww, bless the body, concentration or sheild (only 1 of those 3 at any given time).

The mobs are mostly green to me and drop an average of 1-2k per kill (I 2 shot these mobs) and around 7-10k xp.
20 mins eh....does it worth the effort?
