**** First thing we are adding is an alliance wh. Same as clan wh and only the ally leader can access it. For the rest of this post we will assume it exists. ****
A clan mutiny:
A clan mutiny can be initiated by any player in a clan at any time. When a mutiny takes place every member that is currently online gets the option to join the mutiny or to remain loyal. After 5 min of picking, all members that picked are instantly TP to either sides of the collesium, and the doors shut. The mutiny continues until only 1 side remains alive. Potions rez scrolls can be used.
In the event of a mutiny, the instigator assumes immediate clan leadership position and privlages. Including castle/clanhouse ownership. Access to clan/ally wh. The old leader is instantly kicked and all loyalists are instantly kicked from the clan. The revearse is true if the mutiny fails.
In an alliance mutiny, only clan leaders can declare. At this time individual members get to pick loyalist or mutiny. The same fight takes place. Castle ownership and ally wh automaticly transfers to the winner.
A clan mutiny and alliance mutiny can take place at the same time. Anymember who chooses to remain loyal to the alliance when the leader chooses to rebel is in a defacto state of mutiny, and will control the clan if the alliance mutiny fails, and the clan mutiny succeeds.
If this is implemented, leaders are now held directly accountable to their members. Zerg recruiting will become a thing of the past, and it would just be a lot of fun...
Perfect for honorless dogs, egocentric powerlevelers and players for whom trust is only a tool to screw others over with.
The drama it would create would be definitely worth the monthly fee.
however I see it as a device to allow lazy players who have "friends" "assist" them in getting high levels and top gear to "wrestle" control of a clan that they never could have built from the ground up.
As such, I have to /unsign this even though it is admittedly, a scintillating concept.
This would destroy the whole consept of having a clan, clan loyalty and kinship. All someone would have to do is wait until he is the only one online, or while everyone else is taking down raid bosses on their lowbie alts, and hit the ole' mutiny button to take possession of everyones hard work.

If you are the only person online in the clan, the clan isn't strong enough to withstand a mutiny. It is great if a clan leader starts a war, and then he goes afk for the entire war. Why should you give up the clan wh that you helped raid for?
The ammount of back alley politics it would create would be astounding. A massive zerg could be infiltrated by enemies and destroyed from within. Being a clan leader of a large group of people would be an impressive thing instead of just mass recruiting.
I absolutely love l2 politics... this would create so many more, and would give individual player the ability to sieze control of a powerful castle/clan/alliance in the blink of an eye.
Would people sneak into clans to try and mutiny and steal the cwh? Of course. Would the rest of the clan stand by the leader? Perhaps... I think this would prove what clans are really solid, and what clans are just zerging it up.
/edit In case my clan leader sees this, I wouldn't mutiny against you! :) <33333333333333333
Bad idea for two reasons! First No one should be able to take away a clan leaders clan the leader spent a good amount of time adena and mostly SP leveling it and you think someone has the right to take it away NO leave the clan and start a new one.
With alliances you oculd end up having clans sub lv 5 owning alliances and that is wrong also what if your alliance owns multiple castles would thye both go to whoever wins the allaince!
BAD IDEA if you want to challege a player for control of clan or allaince put it to a vote in the clan/ally and if you get the support remake it under them if not go away! If I was clan leader and someone wanted to challenge me for my clan I'd boot them out and say good bye why should the leader have to put their clan on the line for a disgruntled whinner.
Many people forget one thing a clan is not a democracy with a appointed leader it is a feudal system with a lord/leader dictating power and responsibilities now if that leader leads bad he will end up with a clan of 1 himself. If that leader leads well he will gain supporters and clanmates loyalty and will stick together.
Mutiny will just lead to more mutiny and it will destroy the clan structure!
i agree with you completly, altho the idea itself is intreging i must say but i dubt that there is a way to implement this without destroying the game.
*Waits for everyone to go to bed and declares mutiny* Then i have noone to fight and i get the clan and the alliance. Bad idea unless it has a schedualed time only.
Scream 'bad this' and 'bad that' all you want, this would not only encourage people to play more and more often, but it would give clan members power over their own clan leader, and clans would be less of a tyranny kind of thing where the clan leader can say 'well screw you all, I'm the clan leader and we're doing things MY way. If you don't like it, leave'. It would also encourage clan leaders to be more responsible and better leaders, like my clan leader is (KernowKing on Hindemith, I wouldn't mutiny!). I think it would bring the good clans closer together, thus making them more powerful, and would tear apart the clans full of people just tryin to use others to get more powerful. And while it would help them get more powerful, would you just sit by and be mad if you were a clan leader and someone stole everything from you? No way, you'd deliver a divine shower of swords up the $%*& of whoever did it to you. I think this idea is awesome
People should not fear their government. The government should fear it's people
It isnt practical, its easily exploited and to have a clan youve worked hard on for years in which you have spilt so much time into giving adena and SP to level just to have some guy come along and start a mutiny when your all alseep and steal it all would suck. Clans are only successfull because of the leadership style, a clan leader which says screw you if you dont like it leave, wouldnt get to have a very good clan. All successfull clans have strong leaders behind them who know what there doing. If you want to mutiny /leave clan and get your mutinous friends to aswell, then set up your own clan and spend YOUR adena and SP to level it and declare war on them.
Well, we could find out ways to get around it. Like maybe the rebels can't get everything, but they do get all the properties (castles, clan halls) and instead of whoever initiated the mutiny, everyone who rebeled (if the rebels win) have to vote on the new leader. There could be an NPC who collects the votes and tells you who was voted for most, that way nobody can point fingers and say 'You didn't vote for so-and-so! DIE!'. And instead of it happening immediately, the clan could have 48 hours for everyone to get online and choose who they're gonna side with (without saying who's on who's side, so they don't pick based on who's stronger) and there's a set date for when they duke it out. That would be really good for helping clan leaders purge all the unloyal people from their clan, too, so it can work to clan leaders advantages.
I still dont like it, you would get people from rival clans/allys sending in alts to destroy their rivals. It would be too easy to join yourself into the clan then stirr up trouble and declare a mutiny, it would ruin the clan system.
I would however prfer to see the 5 or 7 day waiting perioud which ever it is reduced to down to more like 24 hours at most, it would allow people to clan hop so they can find the best clan for them. I dont get why we have to wait sooo long in the first place. It would also open up the whole mercenaries side to the game, so people can temporarily join or go on loan to other clans to assist in clan wars / sieges.
I think that's the exact reason that the waiting period is so long, so that people don't clan hop or do a mercenary kind of thing. As far as I can tell, L2 tries to incorporate loyalty into clans... which is all a clan really is, a bunch of loyal people. One way or the other, for better or worse, I think back-alley politics would be all kinds of fun.
Which just gave me a thought... what if you could join groups OTHER then just clans? Just clubs or groups or something where all the members could specify their own rules, like a club that you'd have to pay xx amount of adena per month to stay in, or you have to get some kind of rare item or kill a certain number of monsters to join. Just some kind of group that isn't defined by what makes a clan, but by what it's members want.
