This evening a player (light blue) was observed to pk a group of 4 persons repeatedly (3-4 times each person). I.e. his karma had to be significant. Same player was observed to die to Gludin gaurd 1 (one) time only very shortly after his pk spree. Went from red to light blue.
Petitioned a GM on this issue. GM said this was normal gameplay. Just how can karma be recovered from multiple pk's from 1 death to a gaurd? Help me out I would really like to know.
Ok... guys guys, dont jump to conclusions. Since if he killed a group of 4(by PKing) 3-4 times, it means he had 9-12 PK count. That is way too much karma to wash with 1 death. I didnt wash 2 pk's with 1 death when I had a few PK counts from previous engagements so that seems really odd to me. Thats several thousands of karma he washed with 1 death.
It all depends on how high level he is - consider how much more experience a level 70 toon loses on a single death than a level 20 toon. From the original post, you don't know whether that one time he died to a guard was really the only time he died.
Guess it depends on the level. I had like 3500 karma from killing 4 people when I had 0 pk's prior and one death took off maybe 1300. I was only 30ish though.
Does karma build up higher points if the kills are consequtive? Eg if you kill one person then another straight away, will you gain more karma this way then killing someone then working off karma then killing again. So if you have 0 pks then got 2 kills mounting to, say 1200 karma would you still have gotten 1200 karma from 1 pk giving 400 karma then another one after that giving you another 800 karma? Or would you have gotten less karma because you wiped it off. Now ive confused myself where was i
The big question, was the red mass killing mobs in between when the people would come back? If you are adept at killing good and fast, you can bring down the karma count, coupled with a death to wipe the slate clean. Need to know full details before a person can say if they could/couldn't do this.
I've yet to see a lvl 70 toon to lose 12 pk's worth of karma since if high 60 lvls cant even lose a few pk's worth by dying then assuming a lvl 70 losing 9-12 pk's worth from single death would be making the system alot easier for them.
I watched some old pvp fraps from Teon last night(Teon had almost only Redwars before C4 since people liked redwar more than formal war) and there's lots of times when some high lvl A-grader(most of which are known to be 75 or subbed)goes red, gets a few more kills in in mass pvp and when he dies(not enough pk to drop)he doesnt lose all karma. And those who had enough pk's to drop _never_ did get clean from 1 death.
And yes, if you got pk counts already, the karma from new ones will be higher, so if you got 10 pk's waiting you will be racking alot of karma if you go and kill someone.
About washing karma by killing mobs; We had to do a 6 hours group+protection for one of the ally leaders when he had 10k+ karma. 6 hours to wash that amount, so I cant really see someone killing 9-12 ppl, beating a few mobs and then dying to a guard as something that should wash his karma.
This story is too vague, we need more exact details.
Nah this guy didn't do any mob killing in between killing us and dieing to a gaurd, We had "eye's on target" the whole time. The only thing he did was dump his gear to a bot group.
Even if they were all in a clan and he was in a seperate clan that had declared war on them he would still go red for pking them. With the new war system in a one-sided war you still gain pks and karma from killing members of the opposing clan if they don't fight back. I'm not sure if the karma is less or the same but something is very fishy in that he gets 9+ pks all in one shot and dies it all off in one death. Perhaps he died more to the guards before he was seen by the op, and he only witnessed the final death needed? Just a thought is all.
