int - wit

sorta a double post but noone is answering in the other post because it has a different topic

word is this is a free tat for dorfs. true?
wit effects cast speed and spell cancel rate which are things irrelevent to dwarfs

is that all it does? does it increase poison rate or cancel or anything else?

if i went +4 int -20 wit that would have absolutely no effect?

Increases chance of magic critical hits, casting speed, resistance to Hold, resistance to curses (such as HP degeneration, decreased HP recovery rate, increased skill re-use time, and decreased effect of heals).

Don't do it ><
yes it's free. WIT helps against debuffs.
So for dwarves, TH/HE it's a free tattoo.
I can add destroyers too.
Also I guess cripple is not affecred by m.atk (tyrants, please. I have never played one), so probably free for tyrants too.
Strength (STR)
STR is the value that represents how strong a character is. This value has an effect in the following ways

Amount of physical damage: Damage from ordinary attacks and physical skills of the player increases as STR increases.

Dexterity (DEX)
DEX is the value that represents how nimble and precise are the body movements of the character. This value has an effect in the following ways.

Attack speed: Ordinary attacks and casting speed of physical skills increase as the DEX value increases.

Accuracy: Accuracy increases as the DEX value increases.

Evasion: Evasive ability increases as the DEX value increases.

Critical probability: As a rule, this changes depending on what weapon is being used but the critical probability also increases with the size of the DEX value. Because critical probability also has an effect on the probability of success of hitting vital areas when using skills such as Mortal Blow, the probability of success of skills of this type increase as the DEX value increases.

Shield defense success rate: The shield defense success rate increases as the DEX value increases.

Movement speed: Movement speed increases as the DEX value increases.

Constitution (CON)
CON is the value that represents how strong or how healthy a character is. This value has an effect in the following ways.

HP quantity: The maximum HP value increases as the CON value increases.

HP recovery speed: HP recovery speed increases as the CON value increases.

Breath: CON has an effect on the ability of a PC to move underwater. The underwater physical strength gauge increases as the CON value of a character increases. The higher the CON value, the slower the HP reduction rate when the character’s breath runs out.

Shock resistance: Resistance to shock attacks increases and the probability of falling into a shocked condition falls as the CON value increases.

Bleeding resistance: The probability of getting injured and bleeding falls as the CON value increases.

Intelligence (INT)
INT expresses how much intelligence a character has. The strength of magic increases as this value increases. This value has an effect in the following ways.

Magic Attack: Damage caused when a PC uses damaging magic increases with the INT value.

Curse success probability: The success probability increases with the INT value when using magic that causes all kinds of abnormal conditions.

Wit (WIT)
WIT is the value that expresses how quickly a character can think and his/her ability to make things happen. As INT is the value that demonstrates the level of understanding, WIT is the value that shows the character’s ability to make things happen and the character’s mental spontaneity. This value has an effect in the following ways.

Exceptional damage probability: Exceptional damage can occur at a certain low probability when casting damage magic and the higher the WIT value, the higher the probability that this exceptional damage will occur.

Magic casting speed: If the WIT value is high when using magic, the magic can be used more quickly.

Resistance to abnormal conditions: WIT has an effect on one’s ability to avoid various kinds of bad abnormal conditions. Abnormal conditions a character doesn’t succumb to easily when WIT is high include curses that lower ability values, mental abnormalities (such as Hold, Silence, Sleep, Fear), paralysis, HP reduction magic of the four elements, MP reduction magic, HP recovery speed reduction, and magic that increases the delay for reusing skills and reduces heal effects.

Mentality (MEN)
MEN is the value that represents how strong a character is mentally. This value has an effect in the following ways.

Magic defense: Magic defense ability increases as the MEN value increases, while the probability of receiving magic damage decreases, as does the probability of succumbing to curse magic.

MP quantity: Maximum MP increases as MEN increases.

MP recovery speed: The degree of MP recovery speed is determined by level, race, and MEN. MP recovery speed increases as MEN increases.

Probability of magic interruption: There is a chance that when a player casts magic and is attacked, the magic that was cast will be interrupted. At this time, the probability that the magic won’t be interrupted increases as MEN increases even for magic with higher damage.

Poison resistance: The probability of succumbing to poison magic falls as the MEN value increases.

So unless spoils are effected by matk INT has NO purpose whatsoever to a dwarf.
nice tar yeah thats the stat list i was after

however doesnt that mean i want +wit -int?
not the other way round

lucky i didnt get the dyes yet that woulda been nasty :P
I believe so. I don't know what a dwarf would do with more INT. (INT at all, for that matter).

I don't know what a dwarf would do with more INT.

question is why do we have it?
why not just give us 1 int and add to our dex or men or somein

Yea, yea. I read too fast and just assumed you meant +WIT-INT, lol.

About what I quoted, the same can be said about mystics getting STR. It does nothing really but they still get the numbers.
actually, that isn't even accurate what I just said. DE fighters take great advantage of INT with Hex, Power Break, etc. and Orc mystics use STR.
Human knights have drain as well. The classes I mentioned above can live w/ 0 Int. Dwarves have no use of INT at all. Why get it? Ask the wise developers. One day they might add some skill and spellbook (prolly 4th job transfer at 81lvl).

That reminds me: DE fighters would benefit extremly if they can touch MEN. Drain power is the same as nukes at the level.
well mystics get str points true
but as overpowred as +con -str is for a nuker you can still argue that they need str to attack

my sps used to sleep and dot mobs and i would finish them off with a smack in the face
granted they usually had 0 hp at that point but sometimes you need just that extra sliver of health to 2 hit a mob and i guess thats why they have str

int on the other hand...
Healer classes (aside power orc 'healers') can go melee w/ notable propher and heavily masteries. Summoner classes need melee as well.

So only nukers are the blessed w/ 3 free tats.
What do you mean by free stats? I only think of STR as not useful. I suspect you consider MEN a free stat too? IMO M.Def is quite useful, WIT and INT are just more useful.
Still not sure if i should increase my wit on my gladiator, i can lose the int fine as i dont need it, but, with increased WIT i think when healers heal me it does less to my hp? & ill have a slower natural skill re-use timer?

a lvl 73 sps had 100 more mdef than me with 4 more mdef from jewlery
so as overpowered as it may be going -10 men for pvp haveing less than 20% more mdef than a dwarf is a big minus in pve
not to mention going up against another nuker that can 3 hit you

you may be in the same boat as me
i checked the heal and i heal the dorf for as much as i heal the se
so i guess they mean if a healer minuses it they lose some healing capability

also when they say skill reuse time i beleave they mean spells.
since i beleave glads like dwarfs have all thier skills effected by attack speed not cast speed thats irrelevent

I would love to see a caster with 1 STR, do you really think he would be able to carry SS then? or even his/her robe and wepon?

lets lok at it like this, a person IRL that have loads of INT could be smart as hell, but he wouldn't be able to tell others, cus he then has no muscles to move his/her arm to put it to print, or even be able to tell others.

the same is for INT, i wouldnt trust a car mecanicer that has zero intelligence cus... well who know what he would do with the car ;)

str effects your attack con effects carry capacity
here comes MEN and why free:
MEN affects mana pool, ok. But I wish it affects it more...(looks like passives are not affected by MEN!). It's not big deal to lose 8 men mana pool wise.
MEN affects iterruption probability but adding WIT casting is faster, thus probabily is actually descreased: so free.
MEN affects magic def. It does but WIT affects debuffs like sleep/silence ->so much more important against another mage. Plus all mystics have extremly overpowered dual masteries (magic/physical) defense. So a nuker in C jewels -8 men has more magic defense than TH/Glad/HE (HE the worst nuker enemy...) in A grade! Even not absolutely free, it's next to.
Mana regen: adding to WIT/INT reduces the need of mana and utilizing b2m actually makes more mana than MEN.
---
To sum it up. Blantantly decresing MEN removes like 10-15% mdef. But adding... tons more goodies. And those 15% are effectively negated by +4Con (that reduces bleed/stun as well). Thus all free. (magic damage is linear agaist mdef)

I'm not sure if this is a joke or if you are terribly confused .

+WIT RESISTS curse spells cast upon you, and they used examples like OL making your re-use timer longer and lowering HP regen. The description meant this as in EXAMPLES of curses that it resists.

DEX and attack speed are what effect your ATTACK skill re-use time. For example I'm a SwS, if I use Ultimate Defense and I don't have haste buffs its take forever to re-use again. If I have Haste and Dance of Fury it significantly lowers the re-use time so I can use Ultimate Defense again sooner than without.
Um. A simple answer to the question.

Int is of no use to a dwarf, coz we've got not a single magic skill.

Wit is of some use to a dwarf, because of its ability to "lower the chance of getting debuffs" (aka sleep, root, and various other curses).

So, -int + wit is good, if you can spare the tat slot and the money.

"is it worth it?" Hmph. Is making your weap +3 worth it? probably not, but its something more than the next guy, so go for it.
well just an update
i got the tat and it was reasonably cheap
i still get slept by nukers 20+ lvls lower but a necro 8 lvls lower failed para on me twice which may not have happened before (might just be luck)
a healer about 20 lvls lower failed sleep 10 out of 10 times but landed root about 70% of the time

but whatever its a free tat so ill take it
just use -5 +4 version; i could take -20 +4 even.
It's not free when it costs adena. :O

I've got a -int +wit tattoo on my knight for the sake of cast speed. I definitely do not resist sleep or roots any better than I did before the tattoo. Btw, I don't think +wit has any effect on sleep. It only says Hold (roots), not sleep in the description...as well as a few miscellaneous effects that basically only monsters or Overlords can do.

Anyway it's not really a free tattoo - stat wise yes but adena will run you over a million - and it doesn't really give you any benefit. Imo skip it.
well it cost about 1.2ish (+4 -5) so why not
doesnt really hurt to have it but being archered to death by a bishop with 100% root rate 20 lvls lower certainly does

Because it costs 1.2m just to end up getting rooted by a bishop 20 levels lower than you and archered to death anyway. =P It doesn't really help at all mostly because of bsps.

who gives a [censored] we will get rooted cancelled anchored slept slowed then nuked for 2k+ damage
i figured somewhere about the 30 lvl gap this tat will really start paying off
i thought it was less than 600k (incl. apply)

You need to calm down. o___o;;

I'm trying to point out that it really makes no difference. It is nothing more than a placebo. You think it helps, and you're happy you got it, but in reality it does nothing to help you at all.

well the website says it increases resistance against those things unless they are lieing it cant be a placebo
im quite aware the effects are practically unnoticable but as a dwarf thats the effect i expect from anything
New information has come to my attention. At lvl 77 both Storm Screamers and Shillien Saints (these were the only two I looked up, due to laziness) and probably other similar classes, get Skill Mastery, which is influenced by STR.

Masters excellence in skills. Low possibility of being able to re-use skills without delay or doubles the duration. Influenced by STR.

Now, I don't know if this skill is any good, but I thought you guys would like to know :)

but as a dwarf thats the effect i expect from anything

lol :o
yeah when i was checking out skills for my sps i noticed that
i doubt it will effect it much something in the range of -15 str lose 5%
it's influenced by INT. I suppose a miskate. Look again.
when i look at my pvping sleep and root are always my biggest problem, and therefore anything i can do to minise this risk is a must, therefore i went +4wit -4int and didnt consider any of these other arguments, and think its the right move for a dwarf

and think its the right move for a dwarf

true however minimal
even if its a .01% increase as long as you have a free tat slot you should prolly get this tatoo
