I would really like to know if anyone of you ever got anything good in Mathild's quest (wishing potion), when wishing for wealth, at least got it lately.
I made it several times now, and got 10 k all the times, except twice, that she spawned mobs, which i killed with the help of a kind friend, but they did not drop anything!
Considering the time it takes to gather all the ingredients, going all around the world, and risking your life in Ants Nest too, one feels a little cheated.
Or am i just unlucky? Pls let me know, very curious about ^^
Well from what your telling us, it seems like the odds or prety much the same as when i tried it many times around end of C2. Nver got anything good, there was a time i would do it 2-3 a week and still nothing very good...
So ya, it doesnt seem to be that worhit, or like you, i might just be very unlucky to :P
I done it about 30 times, wishing for wisdom, in an attempt to get spellbooks for an se.
I got 2 of the four i needed, and a warehouse worth of random books.
The NPC to start it is in the ivory tower area, outside a small cottage across the river. with the mountains at the back of it.
By the way, where is the NPC to start that quest? I never found her
Starting from the Ivory Tower GK, exit to the North. As soon as you can, turn west and go straight west until you reach the river. There are aggro mobs in this area.
Across the river, you will see a hut with a light and smoke rising from it. That is Matild's hut, and she is standing outside it. Be careful as you approach, as someone may make a wish and spawn the three grimas, which will aggro you even tho you didn't make the wish.
If you wish for riches and the Grimas spawn, make sure the person who made the wish has the last hit on them. At least that's what I've been told on these boards when I complained about them never dropping anything at all. :)
So maybe want to try that.
All the wishes have a potentially good reward but it's as likely as going to a monster with the intention of getting a full drop...

sorry if i disagree, but applaying the mobs percentage to quests makes no sense: if i have 1/4000 probability to get a good reward, let's say, i should spend all the rest of my life in making wishing potion quest, considering the time it takes.
conditions for quests should be diferent, in my opinion. it's not that each time that one makes that quests one has to get 10 millions, but "someone" at least should have had something good more often then mobs drops.
One time I got a Full plate helm and 2500 CSS, after watching a Shillen knight get owned by the mobs that spawned... lol.
I know you're lying, SK don't get owned by mobs, we are the ones who owned them. :p
By the way, where is the NPC to start that quest? I never found her
alchemist matild, if youlook at your map, is dead WEST of the ivory tower. best thing i found was to tp to sea of spores and run toward the river and around that foot of a hill to her. and i always opted for the wise path.

As a comparison and speaking of a lot of expirience with that quest, it does make sense. I've yet to actually meet someone who won 10 million with that quest. At this moment I still doubt that's even possible.

Yes the quest rewards for arduous quests should be better. Having a chance at somehting big and then, through trial and error, finding out that the chance is somewhere in the Pi decimal regions sucks but that's what I came to expect from NCSoft.
Just look at the ridicoulus Top Quality Meat quest.
You have to pay to get the quest monsters but the quest item drops fairly often. The reward is silly, though, since in the time it takes you to get 120 meat, you could have spoiled double or triple the quest reward from normal monsters with any Scavvy/BH...
Did the quest 14 times. First 2 times was killed by grimas until I learned to just stand there and they would disapear eventually. But I only got 10k or grimas. Only know of one person personaly who got 10mil but I cna't prove that since I wasn't there. It's just what he said.

Me and a clannie each bought HoP for 2.5 mil each a couple of weeks ago. That's what happens, when no one buys the 10 mil ones, and more and more people get the amulet from the quest :)
Well I can say that I have done the quest about 40 times before she moved house, I never got a really good reward from her there, either 10k or 3 grimma's which use to drop upto 5 gold bars each if you got the last hit, so possibility of 45k.
Since she has moved I've only done it 12-15 times only 2 grimma's spawn and they drop less often they did before and I've gotten nothing more often afew times I gotten mats but again nothing special.
Since she has moved I've not heard of any large rewards but before she moved she often gave something for your time, once a friend got 4 million twice within a wish or to of each other.
It use to be a good quest While I was in that level range and made a break from the grind to get XP yet allowed you to have fun and still get some XP, but now all the mobs are way below and chance of giving XP so I only do the quest if I'm asked to help another to do it. It makes for a great Clan/party event I miss those times.
Please NCsoft make more mobs drop the items for the higher level Chars so we can make wishes too.
Ps I go to Matilda's using the road that pass's Oren North to south follow the road north until you get to the bridge, do not cross the bridge but follow the river bank on the lefthand side (west then north) keep your eyes open on the hills to your left and you'll see Matilda's Hut.
