ok, so I am still roling a dagger(PW at that) call me crazy. My question is this, I have heard that dex affects dagger skill land rates, I have heard that it doesnt. The question is does it or doesnt it. I have been told that it did up until c3.
It doesn't. And if someone says it does, they are wrong. ^_^
In seriousness though - the official site says dex affects land rates. However, if you test it out for yourself you'll notice that if it does affect your chance to land a Blow, the amount it is affected must be very, very small. Even with a PW (i.e, the dagger with the most dex) and +8 dex, the land rate is still poor. I've actually gone and done -14 dex on a PW before and saw no real difference in how many blows I landed. The best way to improve your rate is with a Might Mortal dagger, which unfortunately can run you 50m or more for a C grade one.
And finally, it is rumored the land rate was changed in c4, but if so it wasn't by a whole lot; daggers still have poor land rates.
It is-- but in all truth, Dex tattoos don't improve 1 field so significantly. Dex improves attack speed, critical rate, land rate of dagger abilities, running speed, evasion, etc etc etc. But only each section by a very small %. The point of +Dex is that all those little sections are supposed to add up-- you'll dodge a blow you wouldn't normally, get an extra crit you weren't expecting, just manage to outrun that other player to get to the mob first, etc etc. Its more helpful than people are willing to give Dex credit for.
Yep, Dex does effect crit rates. Not positive on DB/MB, but I think it helps a bit there as well.
As for Focus, etc. I speak from experience it does make a huge difference now. While we aren't the daggers of C2, the daggers of C4 are alot better then we were in C3.
