Anyone participating in or near raid boss that is 9+ levels greater than the RB will be taken out of the equation (ie... paralyzed, silenced).
If you don't actually do anything, the boss won't do anything to you.
I got silenced trying to purify someone who was petrified, and I got silenced (Note: It was by request. I knew it wouldn't work. But I *was* surprised that I got penalised for it). But nothing happened before I did that.
Lol, the raid bosses are kind of funny. The one time we were getting ready to take one on. Our party was getting ready (all of proper lvl) but we had a higher lvl buffer, that was "Going to" buff us before the fight. We were a fair ways from the boss, and the attack hadn't started yet, but as soon as the buffer let loose his first buff on a party member, wham he was silenced.
And no one had attacked yet? WEIRD!
That just can't be right (I'm not calling you a liar). How did the raid boss know that the person who got buffed would attack it? It could be just someone who was getting powerleveled by a high level buffer... wow that would suck, if that was the case.

None of THEM attacked it. It is possible some other group did just a short time earlier, died, and the RB is still in combat mode (although not aggroing on the new party yet.) That would result in a caster getting silenced even tho the new party had not done anything yet.
If the RB silences every caster over 9 levels higher who casts while passing by; I'd say that was a bug.
We were watching that boss for a while, and getting our party ready for it, probably 20 mins to get everyone there and ready. No one had done anything to the boss during that time.
After the boss silenced our buffer to be, it still stood there. And it didn't go into attack mode until some time later when we actually attacked it. Don't have any idea if it was a bug or what.
Also had a similar incident. Had a party member do his dances before a raid attack. We were near that time. One of the bosses minions shot a fireball at the member (this was all before the attack), and we thought, oh crap, but the boss and minions stood still after that, until we actually attacked.
what happens if a group die/run away from a boss, cause they have no chances against him, and than comes a other group and kills him?
you get the half xp ?
Would be nice, assuming you could get away, yet be close enough to leech XP LOL. Make it back to town, to lick your wounds, all of a sudden, ting 100,000 XP hehehe sweet
That sounds kinda buggy. After my last reply, I remembered something (I rule). I have been at low level raids before, to buff before the raid. The raid boss didn't do anything to me, at all, because I had buffed before anyone touched the mob.
Nes, I suppose you'd get xp for the damage you'd done, if you were still in range.
I don't think it is a bug. I buffed some random guy soloing in EG the other day near the raid boss and got silenced for my troubles. My guess is that they added that behaviour to stop folks buffing level 20 - 30 chars with high level buffs to make it easier for them to take bosses down.
I guess they'll just have to buff up further away now :)

My Suspision is that the person recieving the buff had the RB targeted as he recieved the buff. Targeting indicates intent of possible attack, you will see this by targeting a mob that a bot is about to attack, once you target the mob, the bot will deselect this mob, and run towards another.
