I've been lvling lvl 19 human mystic and a lvl 19 dark mystic at Abandanded Camp for a few days, and for kicks I logged onto my lvl 19 dagger which happened to be the same lvl. All my charactors have top ng gear. I was amazed at how gimp the dagger was fighting the same mobs as my mystics. Mortal Blow hardly ever landed and it barely did as much damage as my mystics with bsps windstrike. Mobs were crushing my dagger to and he could only take 2 or so before having to rest.
How is my lvl 19 not a dagger? I got a dagger and mortal blow, I even had VS on because my guy is delvled from like 23. It all scales with lvl. Mortal Blow is the same as deadly blow in relative damage. Gimme a break, you know its the same story at 40+ It ain't that different well actually nukers probably gain more relative power. The point is daggers are really weak my human warrior lvl 37 solos better than this crap dagger.
Yes, I tried from the back and it didn't land very much. Sorry, I'm just not impressed with dagger damage in comparison to nukes. It's like nukers are god mode.
I leveled a TH up to 66 and enjoyed every minute of it. Sure, mages tore me apart but that's the same for every melee class. They aren't the gods they were in c2 but daggers are still a pretty nasty opponent in pvp if played well and still are and always have been very effective DDs in pve.
Isn't it curious that the two top threads at the moment are this one (saying daggers are weak) and the 'Best Training/Griefing class' thread where the concensus seems to be building that dagger classes are the best?

Looks like someone needs a sound beating with the clue stick.
Your level 19 is as much a "dagger" as he is "archer", "bladedancer", and "tank"...you're not a "dagger", you're a freakin' fighter, and the fact that you don't know the difference shows that, regardless of your level, you're grossly ignorant about the fundamentals of class design.
I level 19 dark fighter is drastically different from a level 35 assassin, which is moderately different from a level 65 abyss walker. The difference between the fighter and the AW is so huge that you're making an utter fool of yourself by pretending it's the same.
When 5 of the first 6 posters are saying you don't have a clue what you're talking about, it's time to re-evaluate your statements, not try to keep the boat afloat with a thimble.
Edit: and it's not even close to the same 40+, so you're actually making a fool of yourself on two fronts! Score!
Same opinion as the most others....
you can't call yourself a "[class]" if you haven't at least finished the second class transfer quest... cause to this moment you dont get weapon specific skills, you just get all you can become...
i tryed a dagger on my rouge and it was fun, cause i didn't take that much ss and the damage is with skills very nice
Even at the highest levels, dagger classes are still far inferior DD classes to nukers. Nukers have the same HP and CP and have nukes that do the same damage as dagger specials, THEY NEVER MISS, they have 900 range, and nukers get lots of very good PVP debuff spells.
Nuker DDs classes are better than daggers in avery aspect of PVP, no questions there.
I don't know if I can agree with that statement. I've been duo'ing/trio'ing with a dagger since mid 50s into low 60s, and we can hold a room in a lvl 6x cat pretty easily. I've never had a group kill a mob as fast as when I party with a dagger.
Granted, I'll give you that I'm kind of n00b in that I've only been playing since Oct, but in that timeframe I've never had a small group of 2/3 that leveled and dropped mobs faster than with I'm with a dagger.
For my character, daggers have been an excellent complement to my skills. I'm a level 61 bd, btw...so with us and an SE we havent been breaking much of a sweat in low to mid lvl 6x hunting grounds.
There are 2 sides to the story. The more squishy you are, the more damage you can do. The nukers/archers can do insane amounts of damage, but when in close quarters to mobs/PVP opponents, they start to fall apart. Most of the time when I am in a party, and we are trained, the nukers are the first to fall. They aren't meant to be hit. Daggers may not be able to dish out as much damage, and they don't have range, but when things are tight, that is where they shine. You can't be the best in all conditions, in all places. Heck when fighting Raid Bosses, the tank that can hold aggro and stay alive (by the help of healers) are the ones that shine above the nukers or the daggers. Every class has its place to shine.
And yeah at 19, lol, no time to claim the power of a dagger. My first 20 lvls with my dwarves I had them use daggers as well. Since they are skilled in all weapons at that range, guess I could say they to could decide the effectivness of a dagger, lol. That being said, my AW, with a nice set of buffs, can solo white/yellow mobs for the entire buff time (20 mins) without rest (he does sit and regen to full between buff rounds), so they aren't that bad to solo.
PVE is more balanced in this game than PVP. PVE is pretty close to perfect, but PVP balance is so skewed in favor of ranged DDs it's not even funny.
PVE being close to perfect means the classes are balanced. Oh sure, they could still use some fine tweaking, but in general the classes are balanced. Rock, paper and scissors are all equal.
In PvP, it's a whole other ball game. It's not stupid mobs, it's other people. The dagger is not fitted to fight in groups. He's more of a one-on-one. You can stick to just about anyone, and when you stick to them, it stings...
Long range DD's do a lot of damage, I agree. But buy some **** Jewelry, and get a sheild.
You WANT to get close to these peeps, and they want you to stay far...
Well you being level 19, you haven't really experienced the full potential to dagger users. I'm a 58 Plainswalker and im surprised at how much damage I can do.

The big word there is "can", too bad when you have some kind of bad luck and miss like everything, other times you will be lucky and hit every **** blow (which hurts alot then).
Daggers power PvE is NOT about their specials but critical chance/power. W/ 440 crit chance (SoH+focus) hitting from the back makes impressive damage over time.
Also in C4 VS gets a serious lifting and just dont bother w/ specials in PvE activate VS and enjoy.
Daggers are better in 2 things though-they have VERY fast run speed AND they are not as much mana dependant as a nuker. In mass PvP a dagger should just stay unnoticed until its too late for the light armored classes.
Even in PvP the balance isn't TOO far off. It obviously isn't completely balanced but with proper support and people doing what they should PvP can be enjoyed by all classes. Thats of course not saying every class kills as efficiently as others.
Daggers have extremly low CP and low HP than their counter part archers. This alone is broken.
Daggers get no magic resist at all. (No self buff)
TH is good w/ a bow thanks for crit chance (and haste) passives, 750 range is decent but still takes a bit.
As for PvP ruling out MM SA left daggers gimped. MM has never been broken. It's a mistake of NC to disallow it. Return it and daggers would be a tad better. Plus MM is useless in PvE.
