Could anyone please help me find this Mob I have searched high and low in the wastelands and simply cannot find an Ant Soilder anywhere. I just need it to complete the The Wishing Quest.
Ive been in the ants nest itself as far as possible and not found one!

Hunt ant soldier(or was it warrior) captains. They drop the quest item too and you can find them in the Ant nest, or outside near the Torfe's and Wild Desperados.
i had to hunt them inside the ant nest....
becareful in there....its a mess of argo and social argo...
good drops/spoils though great place for aoe

Ok just wasted another Hour looking for these have killed countless Ant Captains and Ant warrior Captains with no no drop and not seen a single ant soilder yet! where do these mobs hangout

not sure what quest this is but i remeber with 2 quests i done when they said to kill soldiers they meant the ants in the first room of ants nest
cant remember exactly cause it was like 30 lvls ago but they want you to kill either the red ants or the black ants......
actually now that i think of it its the black ants cause they dont poison
There are two roads that enter the wasteland from the north. Where the one on the right meets the wasteland, you will find the entrance to a cave (the ants nest). Stick to the left wall until u reach ant solriers and ant warrior captains. gl
I'm sure you were killing the right mobs. I've done this quest many times and so knew what ones to kill, but I'm wondering lately if I'm bugged because it's the last piece I need and I've killed hundreds of them without it dropping.
if you q items for wish potion q you have to kill only ant soldiers
if you want q items for your transfer q you have to kill soldiers, patrol, recruit.All of them drop q transfer item
When I did this quest many times in C1, I got the item from both the Ant Soldiers, and the Ant Warrior Captains. Both the drops in the Wastelands (this and the Tyrants) were very rare though. I preferred the Warrior Captains since the Soldiers poisoned me so often.
At the time, both ants were on the surface, but now (except for the desparado groups,) there is only one area where any surface ants remain (just at the end of the westernmost path leading into the wastlands from the Gludin area.) There are only three ants there, two 'ant's and one 'captain' although Im not sure it is a Warrior Captain.
I believe the quest ants are all in the Ant Nest now. There are three entrances to the Nest. All are marked by spires that have seven 'balls' on them. The easiest entrance to find is near the 'Wildawood Manor' spawn point using the Gludio Gatekeeper (NOT the Event Gatekeeper, that puts you into a different area.)
From the spawn point, look due south. You will see an entrance, in fact, you will be looking down its 'throat.' Only the basilisks between you and it are aggro. Non-aggro ants are in the first room, but you need to go deeper to find the Soldier and Warrior Captains. Go slow, many ants are aggro in the subsequent rooms, and all are social. I would not suggest doing this alone.
For Wish potion quest the Ant warrior captains do drop the item too. I've done it several times, never went inside Ant Nest since you can find Ant warrior captains outside too.
Do you have the fishing shot quest activated? Some have experienced serious cutoffs in their other quest items when having the fish shot quest activated.
(Done wish pot 10+ times, got HoP on the fourth time ;) )
I am not doing the wish quest but trying to complete the Prophet change overquest and I need to kill 10 ant soldiers. I have been in the ant nest before and remember seeing them in there but when I went there the other day I went all the way through and there are no ant soldiers to be found. As the one poster said about having found the three ants outside of the ants nest, I found this as well and got two of the 10 kills that I need to complete this quest.
I tried what another poster said by killing the ants in the first room and all I got out of it was very little xp and no quest item. If anyone else has found the magic spot for this mob please post here. They seem to have disappeared. Any help would be appreciated as I am on the 2nd change over quest to go Prophet and would like to start the final part soon.
Hmmm. I went through that place 3 times in every room including the room with the queen. I have only seen ants, captains, warrior, patrols and guards. I am on the Sieghardt server so maybe they are in there on the server you are on but like I said I couldnt find the stupid things. I will give it one more shot running through there again tonight.
I know that I got inside the ant cave from a different direction before where there are several ant larva right as you enter and if you attack them its kind of funny because a regular ant will spawn and says something like, "Now its time for some fun."
Just to clarify which direction I went in: I took the teleporter to the Southern Entrance to the Wasteland. This entrance is right below an NPC that stands up above on the hill. I know those soldiers used to be inside because some of my friends had been going to the ant nest for good xp a few levels back and we killed them in there.
Not sure if this is the case with this quest, and this is not something I have myself absolutely confirmed, but are you getting Fishing Shot from these mobs? C4 seems to have introduced a "bug" that makes it either impossible or improbable to get 2 quest items from the same mob. So if you are hunting for a Rare quest item (Giants Cave for example) and you are getting fishing shot from almost every mob, your chances of getting the rare quest item seem to be lowered.
This may be the problem you are having. If it isnt, sorry for wasting your time :confused:
No waste of time at all. I appreciate everyones help on this one. Unfortunately my soon to be prophet only has the change over quest. Never fished before...Afraid to get the big head syndrome lol
Hello All. The soldiers are back. Dervon you were correct I did find them in the ant cave however they were not there the other day. I ran right through the spots where I found them the other day just last night and they are back. If anyone else is looking for them go through the first room and then you come out into a circular room, veer to the left and you will see a huge pack of patrols and recruits.
The other day I ran right through this pack and never saw a soldier but last night they are back. The patrols and recruits dont aggro but the soldiers do so you can run into the pack and then run back into the circular room so you dont catch the aggro of the others while you kill them. Thanks again everyone. :)
