When pking is absurd

I have a 34 palus knight and was hunting in heretics. In comes Player Saywhen who is 60+. He demands 5 million and will pk everyone till he gets it. Ok so I leave and go to another necro. The same player shows up and does the same thing killing everyone. No pvp is fine but havign no sa***uards against someoen 30 levels higher is ok? Hard to convince new players (paying customers) to come to a game when this is allowed. I can see somone in level range but 30 levels and demanding tribute or pking should violate the game rules as extortion.
It doesn't as there are no rules in that subject. This is a pvp game...

Where you can be attacked or you can attack anyone at any time. The only safe zones are in the towns.

By the way...

Welcome to the hard world of Lineage :)
Unfortunatley some players are !^#!#^. He must have run out of rl money to ebay. This kind of stuff realy hurts the new players the most. If you dont have a clan get one. Make as many friends as you can eventually you will make friewnds with someone who is in a clan or an alt/main in a clan who can make a few call and bring the hammer down on jerks like that.

From my experience players like that are usually perma red and don't care if they die. Usually they log on those toons when they are bored and grief for an hour at most then log. Then you dont see them for a day or too. So dont get to upset about it. Remember his name and if you run into him when you get higher lvl then take your revenge.
There are many places outside of the catacomb and necropoli. Chances are you will rarely meet anyone there, and be harassed even more rarely.

There has been one time I've gotten into PvPish trouble outside of a necropolis or catacomb, and that was in a popular field dungeon (Execution Grounds).

Every time I looked for a secluded spot for myself (or, where it existed, my party) to level, I was fine for the entire exp session.
do what malineII says.

go somewhere else secluded. at 34 you can exp in fields of silence.

and indeed they are so very very very unpopulated, youll think youre the only one playing the game that day.
You'll learn which areas are safer than others. I've recently rolled not one but 2 new characters so I'm feeling the perma red pain all over again. There are places to go that is fine exp with no reds. I just wish my main was a big scary archer or something.
At least that shows some kind of style as a bandit.

Far too many PKers are just random killers with no theme = boring

Did this lvl 60+ actually go red? At lvl 30-something, I'd be inclined to take a death rather than pay anything, and alert the alliance that there's some potentially easy-picking A/B-grade drops.

I just wish my main was a big scary archer or something.

There is no such thing as a big scary archer...Big scary ORC, yes....Archer, NO. :)

Also *Hint* a rare material recipe can be obtained there now in C4. I'll not disclose which it is - but it is a Durable recipe that can make Matilic things with. If you can get one of those you'll be able to put steak on your Plate. I was able to obtain two of those recipies - one for my warsmith and one for a buddy's warsmith. I've seen those recipes selling for 1mil on Sieg server b/c not many people know what drops them (not many people grind there). I was there from level 36-37 and got two off of the winged mobs. Bring antidote and good luck.
I dunno HE's are kinda scary
:) you know now my secret. i must PK J00

Or just hunt Grandis :)

They drop from a lot of mobs now. I expect prices to drop drastically.
Oddly enough those millions-demanding PKs don't seem to come to the places I hunt.

Weird.
DMP drops all over the place - including some catacombs and necropoli. Anyone paying more than for, say CL rec, has nobody but themselves to blame. ;)
I guess it all depends. I found out, for a fact, if you hunt closely around Dion town you will be PK'd, you will also get PK'd in Rod, RoA, EG, HC, and NoS at a fairly high rate. Not all the time , but it will happen :/
=)

My point was, once the members get to a level that they have a chance to defend themselves, PKers aren't quite as bold or brave.
Our famous pkers on Kain are 55+, you can try to be brave at level 20-40 but chances are you'll still get handled. I know I've tried.. lol. Oh well. Just part of the game.

You must be on Kain then

SayWhen is an [censored].

Fox
Yep, SayWhen is KOS to our ally.
Being a lvl 60+ pker and killing newbs who get their exp back in less then hour hurts the pker more then the newb. This guy will either be perma red and unusable from now on, or will have to grind for a long time to lose so much karma. I usually put A grade gear on my lvl 1 newb and pretend its my main, then the jerk hits me once to make me flag but i die in the process, always works. Its easy to grief grifers.
Strangely none of this stuff ever happens on Teon. Wish it did. Never seen a red player. We're so Carebear :'(

(Or at least from what I've experienced 1-36, might be better 40+..)
Ellie, you sellout...can't believe you rerolled.

A 60+ archer pker? Easy stuff for a 70+ Bishop. Sleep lands really well. Chances are they are not buffed. Sleep/Root. You can use a bow, a dagger, fists, any weapon you want. Archers take time to load a shot. You might even get lucky, and the guy won't have jewels.

If youy cannot afford any of those weapons, find a 70+ friend who does, go sleep/root while your friend kills the red.
I didn't reroll, gimmie a break I have 5 levels until I can subclass. I just have some low levels to play for fun here and there, and to do the low level raid bosses.
Hehe, most wars on Teon were redwars before C4 :)

And yes, lowbie killing reds are rare, since most ppl rather train the lowbies than just pk them. Train = possible loot and they still die. Better than pk :)

And there's some reds around too, they usually get wiped if they mess with the wrong ppl.

Pk'ing lowbies is stupid, training is much wiser if you wanna grief them. Guess all those 50+ permareds just didnt think about it...

Aside from the afk player groups that make a decent aversion from the grind. Since noone will bother you there, working off several Ks of karma isn't so bad, either. :)

As for high level / high karma players - vortex anyone?
