Leveling a hatchling.

Okay first i want to say please dont get all mad and tell me to "use search j00 n00813t" or something like that. I did and didint find all the answers to my questions. I did the quest and got a star hatchling. I give the hatchling, food, etc to my brothers character (a lvl 36 SO). Now theres me a lvl 58 gladiator and my bro a lvl 36 SO. We go into EV when me and my brother are partyed and he has my hatchling out it gets about 0.01 xp a kill. So here are my questions.

Does the xp the owner gets affect the xp the hatchling gets?

Does the hatchling get a better xp if he kills a mob alone.

If the hatchling is lvl 35 and assists me on killing a lvl 55 mob is the xp better for him.

Please help me and I cant remember the other questions i had atm. TY

A hatchling only gets experience for what % of the damage it inflicts to a target. So, it's not wise to have it assist killing a lvl 55 mob. Best way that I've found is to have a tank hate mobs within about 3-4 levels of the hatchling, and have the hatchling kill it. I was hunting fettered souls in Death Pass, getting about 1.1 - 1.3% a kill (I was using a bishop/prophet combo with just one hatchling).

Star is a nuker now, so pet BSPS and empower for it. To power lvl root the mob and tell the hatch to nuke the thing. Only be carefull I heared that it charges into mele after using it's nuke.
