Cosplay is a hobby, just like any other. I don't see people getting dizzed when they like to sing but do it off-key, so I don't understand the hate for cosplayers who don't pull off looking cool in their costume. <shrug>

I like lineage but i would never in a million years dress up as one of the toons and go out into public, they are very very brave people >.>
As I said, cosplay is a hobby - they do it to any series, not because they're so crazy about it but because the costumes look nice and it's a challenge to make them.
If you were going to dress up as some pre-existing character (which I'm sure you've done at one point or another at Halloween), wouldn't you admit that the L2 toons are extremely visually attractive, and make a good model?
I'd definitely try making myself a set for next Halloween or carnival if I could sew, they're just cute.
ETA: Yes, the comparison to Carnival/Halloween makes sense here. I would be severely surprised if this wasn't in the context of some larger costuming meeting.
For cosplaying, I have to admit the costumes are cool looking and that huge sword is freaking amazing. I've always liked it when a cosplayer could create something from their favorite show/game/movie/etc. If they can use the correct materials to make their costume look good (or passable), they have my respect. It's the ones that make their costume out of card board boxes and duct tape with bad paint jobs that make me say "try again".
But there's something funky about that wig. :p
Well, cosplaying is fun and all. But I think this is just too much rofl. That elf's shoes were made out of tape and the dark elf's wig just made me laugh really hard :D
Regardlessly, apart from the wig (which I must admit is sort of pfffsnickerpfff), the costumes are OK - and it's generally not considered grounds for saying "you know you've done xy too much" for indulging a hobby. ;) I bet they're more into costuming than L2, or else they'd be grinding.
Makeing a game take hold of your real life is when you go to far imo, its kinda like in-game weddings n such.
Anyway i was just trying to poke fun at people and if you didnt like it well, fair do's. Myself i would never dress up like that and venture out into public, they are either insane, brave or its acceptable over there. If i was to do such a thing in the UK a bunch of chavs or pikeys would gank me.
I would totally dress up like that , if I had the time and the inclination to do so. What I find funny is when people bust on this sort of thing, but don't rag on people for wearing sports jerseys with other peoples names on them.
I know it's a difficult concept to grasp, but costuming in L2 garb makes you less of an L2 person than spending that time grinding.
Oh, and at that:
Are people who FRAPS, draw fanart, write out character histories, or visit forums too far "into" the game too? All those are time-consuming hobbies that relate to the game, just like cosplay. ^_~

Really outstanding costumes. I wish I could pull something like that off. But I wouldn't know where to go, dressed like that....lol (And if I did, I wouldn't go there, so I'll just settle with looking at the pictures).
