Heard a rumour that the strider will be faster the higher lvl it is. I can't find any information regarding this in patch notes so wondering if anyone has tested this. If I lvl my 55 to 60 will there be any speed increase when I ride it?
No, that is just a rumor. A level 55 runs just as fast. Your speed while mounted on a strider is your toon's base speed, plus a bonus based on your class. I'm pretty sure that mages get a boost of 30 and fighters get a boost of 40.

On the pts when we got the gift striders it was lvl 55
when i rode it with my lvl 40 toon , it ran really slow, as i leveled it, i ran with it at the ( i think ) correct speed .
also when i was leveled to 75 it again slowed down until i leveled it within 10 levels ( my strider ended up 67 , and soloing mobs up by devastated castle) , then i was normal speed again.
Yea, if you're more than 5 levels below the level of your strider then you get speed penalties.
I'd heard rumors about there being penalties if you're too high above it's level too but nothing ever confirming that. That's good to know though. I guess in a couple levels I'll have to grind with my dragon again.
