I'm nearing my Gladiator-ness and have been buying the mats for a plated leather set for a while now (+4 STR -1 CON /drool). I only need a bit more leather to craft some crafted leather and I'm as good as done. Except for the PL boots lining. So as I was looking around I saw a buyshop trying to buy the aforementioned for 150k. Yes, 150k. Each. I politely asked if he had accidentily pressed a '0' too much. No, he hadn't. 150-200k was normal for those linings. I was told that it was a good deal if you get to buy the boots for 2.5kk.. o_O
I was shocked. I really want this set, but this is a tad bit.. discouraging..
Yes...I advise not using Plated Leather unless you're a reroll or have farmed your butt off. :D He wasn't joking about that price tag for the full item.

PL is cheaper then FP. With PL you only need top/bottoms/boots. You can buy a PL set for 5.5m on bartz, easily. FP is closer to 7-8m.
PL is only good if your in a party and not takeing hits/tanking, be warned.

Well, the way I had planned it (and almost succeeded), buying mats low and crafting it myself, the entire set would have cost me a bit over 1kk. Too bad I found the boot-price out so late :/
I guess I'll just go for FP then. (Looks better too :) )
just so as you know, the pl boot linings do drop off of cave servants at the entrance of dragon valley. cave servants, not cave servant warriors or captains or anything else. the drop rate is REAL low, and you'll need 9, however, it can be done. you'll need help at lvl 40, of course.
that is what I did when I decided to drop my drake set on my warlock and went for pl instead. I got like 2 or 3 pl boot linings from clan members and farmed the rest. it took me 2 weeks and 2 levels to do it, mind you, but it can be done.
I am lvl 7 crafter at Devianne and had to craft a PL Set for a clan member (SR) so we started to collect the matts (not the base ones just the reciepes and the key matts).
Trying to Answer your question about the price of the PL boot linings note that the best mob drops are the groups (6xmobs) in Aligator Island. I started to go alone to take the drops with a pole at lvl53 the result ?? mobs with lvl 44 (44 Farhite Lad,44 Swamp Alligator,44 Swamp Warrior) dlvled me twice..... also note that i was with FULL B Armor (Doom Full set+AOBA+3/Haste+Lance/CS). So i let the solo hunt and came back with a clan party.
The Party was me + nuker 50lvl + SR 52lvl + Healer/buffer.
We hunted the Mobs for 2 days (4-6 hours per day) to get the whole 9 drops. As u can see the cost of time / alacrities / SSC & SSB is more than 200k for each piece but it can be equalized because of the good xp that this mini aoe gives.
Also note that you have to kill the whole group to get the drop from the swamp warriors :eek: (swamp warriors r the mobs from the group they drop PL linnings dont remember any more).
The good think from this attemp was that before we got the last part we had a full drop of the desired boots so the expences where equalized (crafted 1 and sold the other pair for 4.5mil on devianne :D).
Hope with this example you can realize why some parts are so expensive, but beware the scammers always ask about the market prices.
