Adept of Taste/Magnificent Feast Quest

Yes I know, I am a glutton for punishment.

I am attempting to do the Magnificent Feast quest, just to see what it pays. Got the wine (from 1 quest), got the music score (from another) and now trying to get recipes from Jonas.

I did Adept of Taste quest, but only got the minimum recipe items (didn't think I would need the special ones for the recipes) finished the quest, got 10k and no recipes. Just wondering if you actually sit there are kill enough to get the fancy ingredients (am doing quest a second time and currently on Mandraga's and have the red roots, but the whites drop so infrequently its driving me insane, I need 40 white roots, so far I have 6, and have killed so many I have gotten 40% of my level, and that includes being PK'ed once.) By the time I have all 40 roots, am guessing I may be lvl 75, with a subclass and all on mandragas kills.

Can anyone tell me if this does infact get me the recipes, or just more adena from the Adept Quest.

The chances of you getting a decent recipe go up if you try to get the special items. The drop rates are pretty low however, but a lot better then looking for brig helmet designs and full item drops. 1 in 10-20 is better then 1 in 1000 to 5000 ....

BTW do the other food quest in parallel, the one from the NPC in the temple. He gives you the final dessert recipe ..you have to visit places close to EG and floran anyway.

I see posts about this quest every few months, it must be a trail of masochism or something. Go do the black lion quest and acts of evil in gludin instead, much better quests. Making monster eye burgers for that Elven Priestess glutton aint worth the effort!!!

My limited experience with Adept of Taste: once with minimum, no recipe; once with best of everything, got a recipe.

another problem you may be having is some quests drop a lot less quest items if you have the fishing shots quest running at the same time.

would love to know what this Adept quest continuation pays :) I have 2 chars with recipes done.

By recipes, are you talking crafting recipes???

Becuase I need 3 food recipes for the quest from the NPC beside the chef, and he is looking for recipes for steak/salad and sauce. If I have to redo this Adept of Taste a ton of times to get those 3 food recipes, I better be getting a top S weapon/armour set, or I will kill someone. :)

Oh and doing the Adept quest for teh second time, so count me as extreme masochist

yup, payout is either the lowest or second lowest d grade ring. bad, bad payout for the amount of work you must do.

Is that the payout for the Adept quest, or the Magnificent Feast one???

and that was when I went through and had everything maxed but the wine bottle thing, and that was 2nd to max.

not worth it, not worth it at all.

(worse when you add in that the subquests, all 4 of them, barely payout out 50k and need like 2 weeks worth of work.)

This quest is very old and out dated.

I did this quest when I was lvl 23 back in C1, I got all of the way to 27 and out lvled all of the mobs by the time I got jonus's rec (salid,I think). Then I didn't see why I had it, and it didn't link me eto anything else so I ened it and caceled the quest when I need more invatory space.

It's a really wortless quest.

Tho it keeped me focused on lvling tho!
