I made my dude on lionna and played for an hour, got to level 7 am almost donr with some quest as soon as I find the blacksmith kaddor, but not a single other player talked to m or responded, I saw tons of players but not talked to me at all lol, any servers better than others or anythung?
amg my typing was terrible on that post, sorry

just really looking for anyone who wants to help me a little on some advice and such, I made a dark elf mystic to start and it seems fun when I go kill those wolf thingies, just curious to see if people actually talk to each other and how would get into a clan?
It's really sad that new players get this first impression
The "players" you see, that don't talk to you, are most likely "not at the keyboard". There's no one playing the characters, it's a bot program.
When you leave the newbie area, you'll find lots more people - who actually talk to you. But the chances of finding a clan before level 20 are not so good. Don't worry though, you'll get there soon enough :)

And welcome to L2 :)

Tell me about it....You know instead of the players breaking the news to new players. I'd like to see mistryl do it a few times.
Hey why you gotta be a downer on Mystryl? Its not her fault the game is empty of people in the new starter areas. What needs to happen is the Devs need to reincorporate the low level areas for high level folks.

Some ideas is put a high level dungeon nearby the starter areas. Make some very worthwhile quests that require you to spend a significant amount of time in the newbie starter areas. Just something to get the unused parts of Aden back in use again. Its a shame that we keep moving the content farther and farther away from starter areas, when we should be reincorporating them into the newbie areas.

It's not the lack of people in the starting towns we are talking about it's all the [censored]!
I think your confused. It sure sounds to me that the OP means starter areas.
Yeah, and there are no real (if you know what I mean) players there, according to him/her.
once you get to ~level 20 more people will start showing up... people and not bots or farmers, who pretty much own the newbie areas as you own your house or a clan owns a castle/hall >.>

sad but true. some servers have less than others, but none have high populations of newbies anymore :( its so sad, i loved playing with newbies on my healer  and they didnt even tell my my EE buffs are worthless!
ok guys, now I understand and feel like a fool. I assumed it was a macro because I had played asheron's call on darktide for a while then quit because of all the macros made pvp unbalanced

so far I like this game and will try and grind it out till level 20 then, so should I skip the starter qusts or should I do them?
some quests are worth it, some arent... i always pick up quests i find and keep watching them instead of my exp, usually fool myself into thinking the bar moves faster than it really does lol! also, i think some pre-20 quests give NG ss/sps as part of rewards now? i wish i had that when i was a newbie. i would do any you can find, unless they seem to hard, you can always delete them later if you like. :p
Do the quests. They are designed and upgraded to give you decent gear. As an orc for example I am able to grind to lvl 20 and have a full top NG outfit the moment I hit 20.

The same can be done with the DE's. Humans, dwarves and LE arent able to do this though. Unless they are smart and get ot DE village as soon as they have done their goo quests.

If you read this before the maintenance starts. Get to the cat npc in your starters town now and grab that free weapon! After maintennace it will be gone and with that weapon you can save yourself the trouble of buying weaponry until you need D-gear.
Definitely do the quests which give you newbie soulshots/spiritshots as reward - those things last quite a while, speed up the lvling and it saves a lot of money when you do not have to buy them from the store. Make sure always to get the newbie buffs from the newbie guide. Do the repeatable money quests lots of times (those which give you a fixed adena reward - in DE village (that is where you are, or?) there is a quest for fungus parts for 2000a each run, and a quest for spider parts for 3500a each run). Always upgrade weapon first, armor later (and make sure to take advantage of the upgrade/exchange option at the trader).
I recently made a new character on bartz. By the time I reached lvl 20 I had the 2nd best NG dagger, a wooden set, a Gladius and 250k adena, so yes, it is possible. Also do all the quests, some of the quests I did gave me up to 30k adena.
While the grind up to 20 may seem lonely (unless you actually find some real lowbie players), at 20 go to Gludin. That's where all the other lowbies hang out, they gather from all the starter villages (Dark Elven Village, Talking Island Village, Dwarf Village, etc).

Once in Gludin, it will be much easier to meet people and form parties. Maybe get into a clan.

Do quests all the time. Every mob you kill should have a quest attached to it. If not, you are basically losing out on adena.

Finally, it really just sucks that newbies should have to get this impression of L2. NC get your act together.
Oh, I remember back in C2 when I was a wee little noobie (YEAH WLE ^__^), I didn't see my first bot or deleveler until level 25 or so in Gludio. Its really not cool that an actual player should have to endure the cold shoulder of the bot users.

Anyway, welcome to L2! ^.^ ...Gludin is a good place to meet people, I just created yet another alt and founds groups after level 20 all the time. If you travel to Gludio/Gludin, make sure you try a Necropolis of Sacrifice group-- you'll need a Seven Signs experience before you really begin to play L2 (you'll find that getting groups in Gludin is much easier than in Gludio).

Also, you'll start seeing real populations of people in Dion, especially on Bartz (you rerolled on Bartz, right? Or am I thinking of the wrong person?), which has the highest population of all servers (well, of actual humans anyway. Teon has a huge population as well, although a considerable amount of these players are bots ^.^...all the more for personal profit, if you learn how to train em' right).
There are 'some' new players in the starting areas--perhaps the time u were playing wasn't optimal. Keep trying to chat and someone will answer eventually....be nice.
The community doesnt come into play at lvl 7 anyway other than to have questions answered...u should be going solo to get max exp anyway and the newbie helper will give your first main character 'assist magics'--use those.
In this game u must spend first money on weapons--not armor. Don't buy the 15k weapon--at lvl 10 all newbies can run a quest for the same level weapon.
For goodness sakes--do the repeatable quests. Once u find an area where 2 or 3 mobs are all included as 'extra payers' in 2 or 3 different quests--stay there and hunt for awhile--maybe run those quests twice each.
Don't bother going to gludin at level 7--no one will help u there either (though 'real people' abound). Maybe lvl 15 or so is first time I would leave starter area--it gives u time to learn game basics in relative safety.
Shout for DrakkosIII in game--if i'm near dark elf starter area I'll give u hand
Remembered something about dark elfland..u can quest to kill goblins (for manacles they wear), orcs (for amulets?), for spores from mushrooms--all are in the same field and only the orc fighters and orc fighter leaders aggro...do all 3 quests at the same time so u can kill everything in that area. I think two of those quests come from guards and one from a shopkeeper.

The manacles come from Imps and they moved them, so they are not with the orcs and the Mushrooms. If there is a goblin quest in DE land I've missed it.
there is the wolf fang quest goblins drop stacks of fangs for it its from the male wepons trader in town
i'm so sorry--these guys r right--they are imps--not goblins. Imps, mushrooms, and orcs are quests for around starter levels in de land.
There are goblin guys around de starter area and it seems to me there was a quest involving them but I can't recall for sure.
Just about everything around the town can be quested though--the main point is to kill things for exp and drops that you will ALSO get quest credit for.
I'm just saying that if multiple quest monsters exist in the same area with little aggro (aggressive-chase u down) presence--that IMO it's a good place to level efficiently. From your current lvl 7 to the lvl 10 weapon quest should be little time of game play--might as well reap all you can through quests while hunting.
omg, ty so much for all your help and advice

ya, I am in the dark elf village and doing all those quests, making tons of that soulshot stuff, I got like 5700 but no idea what it is for, right now I collecting manacles and killing goblins, getting thread, silver and stuph like that but no idea how to use it or what it does, hopefully at 20 I can meet some folks who can take me under their wing lol
Soulshots double your's damage, each use last only 1 hit. Klick on your's wearpon to see how many ss/sps it uses for each hit. Spiritshots and blessed spirit shots increase damage of magic attacks and cast speed (only bsps, i think).Put those soul shots on your's shortcut bar and then try klining on it regulary, or even left-klick on it on the shortcut bar.

My advice is get off lame lionna and come join the nerds on bartz, never a empty town / dull moment
the 'thread' and 'silver' and 'iron' are materials---'mats' in gamespeak. Dwarves use them for crafting weapons and armor and things. For now--put them all in your personal warehouse when u accumulate a number of them (it costs 30a to put in 1 iron ore or 20 iron ores so wait till u have quite a few). Leave them in your personal warehouse and resist the erge to sell them for a little money. They will be worth more to you or your clan in the future than the little bit of money you make off them now.
Since you are a new player you get special soulshots, but they only work for you and only on no-grade weapons. (weapons have grade, next grade is D grade, which comes avaliable at level 20, though you probably can't afford a proper weapon at that time)

Gauge your income and if you start having trouble against the mobs, start using the soulshots.

And do every quest you come across, as a new player, they give big rewards.
Go look in the player guides forum if you want advice tbh.
