I want to make an alt toon that is far superior at soloing than other classes. Is there sucha class ? Also one that has very little downtime. I got a mystic and its fun riping apart 1-2 hits but the 6-7minutes sitting down kills me. I know at 25 i get BTM(body-to-mind) but I really wanna try another class to see my possibilities. Anyhow yeah i hope to hear some feedback, remember really good solo with verylitlle downtime. Am sure theres something out there like that :P
Hmm. archers and mages (with btm) are good soloers... might i also suggest summoner types, if you pass 40? my ES never has to sit hunting, he uses a theca set and my dwarf's yaksa mace :p lets his summon tank and refill the MP he uses for heals... unfortunately you cant really get a feel for a summoner pre-40 because of the reuse timer on summoning skills >< same thing goes for things like orc mystic (heard those play nice at higher levels, never tried one myself... green skin isnt my thing ^^ )

Thank for your feedback!
I was thinking maybe a dagger rogues or fighter class for solo but i think they wont solo that good.

hehe, no problem... i've never played a rogue class, and my only fighter experience is a dwarf and a human knight, they both have to sit all the time even in top gear :(
Yes, a summoner might be good. But you'd have to endure life as a wizard up untill level 40 -and many even keep nuking some levels after that. But that would be optional, since you get to use your summons all the time, as opposed to once for 20 minutes every, what, 6 hours?
Then there's the Orc Mystic. With a melee weapon, they solo quite well, and when they're at around half hp, they can drain it all back :) This works all the way up to second class change, where they can choose between going Warcrier or Overlord. Warcriers get the best buffs for melee (can buff an entire party all at once), and Overlord is probably best for mystic classes, due to Acumen (faster casting speed) and berzerker Spirit (more m.atk, p.atk, casting speed, attack speed, higher running speed, lower m.def and p.def) and not so many useful buffs for fighters - though bless the shield is very nice for tanks and other shield bearers. Where was I... Oh yeah, Overlords can buff an entire alliance at once.
About the drain... I've only tried it with Empower (M.atk buff) and it gives me about half a HP bar back. So I guess the conclusion is, it's a bit less powerful, comparatively speaking, at higher levels? I'll need a pro Warcrier to confirm this (or prove me wrong) :)
Actually Elven Knight might be good, since they get Elemental Heal. It's not too shabby with bsps. But if you heal in time, and not when you're about to die, you don't need bsps. Just keep a few for emergencies. Keep in mind though, the casting speed isn't very high. From Elven Knight, you can go Temple Knight, or Swordsinger. First one is a tank, second one is a party buffer - much loved for Song of Hunter, which increases (physical) critical rate, and also has some good defensive songs (buffs). The songs last two-three minutes, so you'll need to sing every few minutes. Don't know if you're up for that :)
I know nothing about Temple Knights.

Yeah they all sounds good I think I will try TK for now I guess. Thx

good luck on your TK! i've heard people love them, and i've heard people who hate them :p seems you can fall into one opinion or the other depending on your play style.... and on a completely unrelated note: i <3 your ears!! <--me love elf ears
Hey Sovrath seeing you are a pimp SH. I got my DE mystic at Lv18 now and was wondering do you have downtime still after getting BTM? I don't have a huge mana pool but the mp regen is just horrible 5-7min feels like it. So does it get better at lv25 and also whats the reuse timer for BTM? thx you

Well...
I can go for a very very long time in the forest of the dead while 2 shotting greens with no buffs (or 2 shotting Whites with clan hall buffs) by using body 2 mind.
There are several lvls of body to mind... I think I get about 76 mana points replenished.
The reuse timer is short enough that you can use it practically every mob. Of course, it is a bit of a juggling act. Sometimes I add to my health by using Corpse Life Drain and sometimes Vamp claw gives me better results If my health is very low.
Occassionally I will take a greater heal potion to add to the love.
And the money... If I two shot greens I get between 1 and 2% per kill. I use 2 shots so each shot is about 345-375 adena each.
But the money can range from 1400 to 2900 (even got a 3100 adena drop) from the mobs in the Forest of the dead. So it's not bad.
After all that I suppose all I have to say is that b2m is a life saver at the higer lvls for a spellhowler. And if you party with a Shilien Elder (or even an elven elder... heck ... any healer) then you can go forever. When the mana gets low just body to mind down as low as you can go (think I got to 46 once) and the healer will take care of you in a few heals. You can lvl until you drop.

TYVM! I'll take that advice with me and get my mystic back on track.
Well, I'll throw it out there. After level 46 Tyrants become decent soloers if you're looking for a melee class. Its kind of rough up to there, but after that relatively little down time. Still, I'm pretty sure necros and SH are regarded as the fastest, lowest downtime soloer.
Any melee class that deals decent damage in melee is capable of no downtime if they can get VR. If you can get VR every time you solo, the tyrant is probably the best class to choose-- fast killspeed, high running speed, a consistent amount of damage per mob (because they don't crit too often and they don't miss too often). One of the better passive-anti-downtimers-- they exp faster because the downtime (of running in between mobs) is severly reduced. Also true for dagger classes, although more so for tyrants. Tyrant/summoner duo = best exp duo I have ever been in. And of course, fists are one of the coolest looking weapon types in the game.
Either that or choose a summoner, although choose wisely-- you can choose to have either an extremely expensive setup (for insanely fast exp, spamming soulshots for both you and your summon) or an extremely cheap setup (for slow exp, spamming neither, tons of $$$$ saved) or somewhere in between (which is what most summoners do). And then comes the versatility-- wearing almost any light or robe set is justifiable, as is using just about any weapon. Just last week I changed from using a Theca set and a Beserker Blade w/ Focus to a Demon Set with a Soulfire Dirk w/ Mana Up.
------------
Then the other route is SHs and Necros, which was my main and subclass on the PTS. Although I can't really speak from real experience (although grinding from 40-->60 and 75-->76 on the PTS seems real enough to me), I still did experience downtime as both of them. Regardless the exp was great because my killspeed was insane. And if I had health pots, I was able to spam body to mind, which certainly reduced downtime so that I was only sitting every 30 minutes (I was walking as well, people never give walking enough credit).
My only problem on the PTS was money-- and the Necro's high cost was not doing me any good. If you have a lot of money, a double-spamming summoner or Necro is the best choice.
Lol if you can get VR all the time, Warlord is the fastest leveler. I pull an entire room in a cata (8 4x mobs) and end up with more HP than I started with. You spend less on shots because you are hitting tons of mobs at the same time, and with a Greater Swift Attk pot on top of SE buffs I make a bit over 20% per hour. I'm pretty **** useless without VR though :p.
Actually I gave my rogue one of the new C4 pets and can grind nonstop in AC as long as I avoid the aggro mobs with it. The heals aren't great but I run accuracy constantly and don't use mortal blow. MP stays up and so does my HP. Keep grinding till the DSS runs out.
one word: SH. Zero downtime later on. Necro too, but you won't be that rich.

archer solo w/o buffs is big no.
just in case you join a clan w/ chan hall (in aden. goddard [or giran but no good porting]): tyrant, glad, destroyer, daggers have zero downtime w/ clan hall buffs.
Dunno though... they are the fastest levelers... and they have no down time between buffs... but the best soloer.... man.... summoners... no doubt. Atleast in C4.

true but do you want near zero downtime while 2 hitting mobs and making a fortune or zero downtime while slowly 5-10 hitting mobs and breaking even-making a slight profit
IMHO, the best solo class is known as the Battle Prophet. Wears heavy armor and equiped with dual swords. Duo these with a SE that is similarly equiped, or in Light armor with dual swords, and you have quite the power pair.
