Most movies based on games tend to suck ballz, the reverse also being true. There are however exceptions, but i doubt lineage could pull it off.
I dont know, that last "trailer" movie posted by Kasumi or her friend in the fanarts and screenshots section sure looked good. If they could make a movie with that kind of animation and have a solid storyline, I think a movie could work.

but it's got a repetitive feel as alot of movies based around similare instances have already been made over and over and over.... imo... peter jackson will probably only draw fans and graphic fanatics... and with those will come the occasional random person that may or may not have any interest at all...
Some will just come because it's produced by peter jackson..
IMO, would like to see Metroid produced by peter jackson.... that would be something completely unique...
lol metroid, talk about PvE. I doubt one word would be said through the whole "grind" of a movie.
Dont get me wrong i love the metroid games there up there with the best of them. Thats the only game ever ever ever to give me the creeps and get me anxious, dare i say it, even a little scared :o
At least with halo its a "get outa my way im a freaking juggernaut" type of game.
But who would do the voices >.<? and if it was acted, who would play the roles? I have my own perceptions of the lineage2 world, i wouldnt want some directer ruining that for me. I like LOTR but i didnt imagine hobbits like that, they got made so [censored] >.<
A lineage movie would probably consist of Watching characters grind for about 2 hours to find a drop, realize it is the wrong drop and then watch the horror as they stumble over farmers on the stairs to set up shop.

Final Fantasy was just done wrong. The story killed it. It was really bad. But the CG effects were great, top notch. I think if they just had given some thought to the story line, it could have gone so much better. What is up with asian Anime and bad story lines?
Well Cowboy Beebop isn't bad as a story line, Inuyasha is ok as well as Full Metal Alchemist.
I'm an optomist. Hey it could only improve the Lineage franchise even if the movie was bad, at least it'll get it exposure, as long as some part of the movie was redeeming. I thik NCSOFT could pull this off.
Heck maybe they could get Peter Jackson to do Lineage? haha
But seriously isn't there anyone that has heard anything? I know that NCSOFT CEO in korea, when he had that interview expressed that he would like to see Lineage as a movie. Has anyone heard any progression on this?
Final Fantasy was an excellent movie..... both graphically and storyline wise...
Metroid well...as long as you don't use all the old games as a reference.... and use the most recent sucha s metroid prime and metroid 4 fusion... there is quite alot of dialog....
And there is a massive storyline to metroid.... we just place the playable parts... no questions asked.. just blow up anything..
IMO, metroid is a step further ahead of possibilities then say doom was.. and doom the movie turned out quite well.... and all that game was full of was gunshot/rocket/BFG shots with a whole lot of grunting and screaming.
IMO, lineage2 has a good amount of possiblities....
What i don't get is how "a movie" can "ruin" something that doesn't have absalute direct relation to another..... perhaps based apon.... but there is no way you could stuff all of lineage2 into a movie in the form we know
What they can easily make a movie out of is the chronicles themselves..... the before... how the gods and whatnot created aden and the creatures themselves.. how giants grew and annoyed the gods, and how orcs took over right down to elves and humans working together to defeat them all and how humans reigned....
Frankly there is alot they could do, and they could very well with anything out there.... be it full blown acting or CG or whatever.
Just add that slight glow to the entire picture to give it that fantasy spin and put a **** good layed out story behind it...
Hehe, no offense but saying a fully rendered movie had 'great CG effects' just made me crack up. :D
FF:TM has a storyline that isn't appealing to the western audiences. Most don't get it and blame the movie for it...

We can thank Uwe Boll for most of those (may he go straight to hell where he has to watch all his movies 24/7... in badly dubbed swahili!) but we can also thank a lot of idiot fanboys who just ran into the theatres to watch whatever crap was running just because it had a game's name attached to it. The people in charge see they get money for whatever they spew out, so why consider doing it right?
As with everything else, this is just personal taste anyway. I'm sure there's even people who like House of the Dead or Doom and not because they are unintentionally hilarious. ;)
A Lineage movie would rock if it was done by the people who do Lineage. **** I'd be a happy camper if they'd just string together the CGMs they have so far and put a story to it... :)

Exactly, we could finally see what happened to the winged race etc, the main characters could actually be our server's chars: Kain,gustin, seighardt, Bartz and so on. If u read on the site they all have their histories :p Id personally love to see big fights between the races etc.
Peter Jackson is still with halo, at least he'll make the covies look cool, im hopeing to see a marine noob combo then Tbag a grunt in the background of some big fight seen.
As for lineage maybe they can make the characters talk 1337 style that would just be priceless.
