Hey all. I just reactivated an account and got my brother into Lineage 2 after the release of C4. I originally played during the games release but never got higher than level 30.
I've taken it upon myself to level 2 characters at once. Insane? Maybe ... but so far so good. After reading on various message boards I settled on the duo of a Swordsinger and Silver Ranger - the end result being a very fast and effective PvP duo as well as both classes being sought after in clans, groups, and so forth.
I made my characters last Wednesday and have managed to get them both up to level 37 relatively quickly. I am now looking at C Grade equipment for my duo and would like some suggestions.
I level by partying both characters, having my archer auto follow my Swordsinger, and spam DSS and healing potions. I never have downtime with the combo of my elven heal and pots. XP is pretty steady considering one character simply leaches XP. Some would say use the archer and kite but I have found it a bit quicker to use my SwS since she can handle 2-3 mobs at a time, something the archer isn't as good at, and due to the archer using 10 SS a shot and mana every shot leaves me no mana rest time.
That in mind, I was considering using Full Plate on my SwS (large HP boost and good Pdef) as I will be melee grinding most of the way. That a good idea or should I look at something else? With the FP I was thinking of using a Samurai Longsword with Focus and maybe beefing it up a bit with enchants.
As for my SR I have heard people say Plated Leather if you can afford it and if not Theca since it's cheaper and more common. I honestly don't like the look of either. I was actually considering Drake Leather and was wondering if that's a good fit for the SR? I know it looks nice and was wondering on the average price (I play Hindemith).
Money is a factor to a degree. I have enough to cover some C Grade equipment buys. I actually got back into the game since my old UO buddy was retiring from Lineage 2 and gave me most of his loot to use while he deactivated his account.
I would just like to say I am really enjoying the game and im really looking forward to PvP once I get a bit higher. I know the levels will get tougher, but I figure the XP gain is about 3/4 to 3/5 as fast as it would be flying solo so it won't be awful until the 50's. I mainly level two at once so that my brother has a character to play on my level when he has the time and so that I have 2 characters to mess with - both of different play style. It's taking extra time but it's well worth it. After a week I can say that I have two level 37's instead of 1 and pretty soon two level 40's.
Anyway. Any armor help or any other suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks again!
