Now and then, we are having "At Risk Play" warnings. Becasue the network is maintained or servers are behaving badly.
The question is, what do they exactly mean by this? It is obvious that due to this we can have more lags, unexpected connection losses or even servers shutting down on us. That much is clear to me.
But, does this also mean that when such a thing happens and my characters dies and drops a vital piece of gear I cannot expect a reimbursement from NCSoft for my loss?
funny thing is if you die and drop nc will replace your loses
room for exploitation here but bringing the servers down would mean mass complaints and ppl wanting reimbersement for their server fees
basicly at risk means if you die and drop you gotta waste time petitioning
Normally when you drop due to a a problem on NCSofts side. Such as mobs doing things they cannot. Or server crashes. You will nomally be reimbursed if what you claim can be proven. I wonder if this is also true for At Risk Play.
I would take it to mean that they are unsure about the stability of their connection or servers at the moment and advice you all to note the risks of playing in an unstable environment.
Anyone with a dodgy ISP or who has experienced bad things with their connection should understand the term.
It means be wary because you may get disconnected/lag and as a result your character could die/drop.

A maintenance/at risk announcement is intended as a warning that you might experience disconnections or lag that may interfere with your normal gameplay. Once the warning has been issued, typically there are no reimbursements for any experience or item losses during the affected time period.
Today a 1 hour, 30 min and 15min warning was given, what if you were to log in half way inbetween warnings and go hunting, you wouldnt know its risk play..

Agreed. A warning about the server (or all of them) at the signon screen would be nice. As would an ingame warning after you log on. It's that important.

So basicly if such a period is going on, you are better of not playing because if things happens and things go horribly wrong you are out of luck.
In that case, could you make an entry somewhere on the website where you can direct people to warn them about the exact meaning of "at risk" play? It might save some complaints later.
