When a prophet's title says " DontAsk4Buffs" it means Dont ask for buffs.
Not all prophets want to buff you.
Prophets do not have unlimited mp.
Threatening the lvl 72+ Warsmith dual boxing the prophet for buffs might get you pked by a Warsmith and golem with full buffs soul shots and beast shots.
Following the the prophet around crying for buffs will get you trained. "Return 2"
It may be a prophets job to buff but that doesnt mean you.
Not everyone cares about recs so dont offer recs to the guy who just said NO I DONT WANT TO BUFF YOU.
A good part of prophets are dual box meaning not only is the owner getting buffs but also is getting healed which = low mp.
No matter what you think prophets do not owe you buffs. When you see DontAsk4Buffs for thier title dont ask.
Its annoying as hell when 50+ people a day ask for buffs like I have nothing better to do. Its like saying hey will you have more down time so I can lvl faster.
Well obviously when u have dont ask for buffs we wont, but otherwise most prophets are happy to spare up some mp for 5k (and in some rarer cases free).
Dont forget not every1 is english native so may not understand your title especially if it isnt spaced.
You could change your title to 'Necro God' So people dont think your a prophet.
1. Saying "No" or ignoring their request is not difficult.
2. Change your title to "500k = buffs".
3. Give them KoE and nothing else or, if it's a tank, zerk them and nothing else.
4. C- or B-graders asking my prophet for VR will only get you laughed at (this happens).
5. Keep your eval score at 255, that'll shut them up about the rec thing.
If I don't respond after the first request, I'm certainly not going to after the 5th.
I generally will buff the lone player that is hunting near me. They are usually happy and willing to cooperate with hunting space after that.
Only polite requests have a chance of getting a response. I'll die before responding to threats.
I feel your pain. Even with just my level 25 cleric, anytime anyone in Gludin sees me WWing myself its that horrible reaction:
--"Buff plz" (Hate this reaction. You aren't worthy of my buffs, commoner, go play in the mud.)
--"Buff me" (Worse. I usually go the "why?" route, which is always fun. "Why?" "So that I can hunt" "Why do you want to hunt?" "So that I can get exp plz can I have buffs" "Why do you want exp?" etc etc)
--"Thx for buffs" (In this case I do whatever possible to not buff the person. I'll start buffing everyone but that person, even if they are afk selling at the shops)
--"Thx for buffs" (In this case I do whatever possible to not buff the person. I'll start buffing everyone but that person, even if they are afk selling at the shops)
At which point I, being the savvy SE that I am, look over and say "Oh, sorry. I'm a spellhowler. I don't buff."
Nevermind my title is "Celebrant" or some variation of a healer/buffer role, and they saw me just WW myself or buff a friend.
If you are rude to me in asking for buffs, you get the big ignore.
5k for a few hundered MP and a few seconds of your time is more then enough, at least on bartz ne how thats the going rate. In all my hunting grounds there are 1-2 PP selling buffs 5k each and 2-3 SE selling buffs/recharges, the costs are usually 5k per service. Ive even had prophets argue who gets to buff me and in the end got buffs for 3.5k :D good times. If the prophet is exp'ing tho i wont ask for buffs unless i really need them, i always offer money tho, ill say can i buy a few buffs if u got the spare mp, i rarely get ignored or refused. Carebear bartz ftw. Is asking for buffs really much more different then when a guy comes running past with a few agro mobs screaming for help? In which case all dd's dive straight in and dont charge for it.

I guess you didnt get the point. THEY STILL ASK! And they dont just ask they harrass follow me around or threaten.
btw if you want 5k buffs make your own prophet. See how annoyed you get after the 500th person asks for buffs.
5k to me is kill one mob isnt worth 600+ mp.
Kill a mob for 10-30 second or sit down for 10 mins hmmmm.
I dont know anyone who would follow a prophet around asking for buffs even when they were told directly no. Also only idiots threaten someone when they are un-buffed, espcially to a duo boxed prophet. Where exactly are you hunting? Talking isle..??
Depence on lv's a healer can easely be 1-2 shoted by archers and easely run away. Hapaned to my healer refused to buff an ***, what hapens yes got PK'ed and he run away.
After that event I refuse to buff any random player who asked, and I think every buffer should do the same. Just ignore them, they soon learn that nobody want to play with them.
And yet, if you pop the pot you'll only have haste, not might, not ww (that'll be 15k or so for both pots together?), not guidance, not focus, not deathwhisper, not shield, not mental aegis, not zerk, not anything.
Thats your game choice, you can play a bitter buffer or healer, but you make more friends being the nice guy, which is how i like to play. Some buffers may never buff another person but others walk up to you and ask if you want buffs. I have to save people's ***'s everyday and i do it without a second thought if i know i can survive it. Im not going to charge for this feature of my class.
The situation is different if I'm in the mood to give buffs - you can saving someone is to giving buffs as accidentally getting trained is to being harassed for buffs when you're doing something else.

Normally hot springs wall of agros or beast farms.
I was threatened by a guy for buffs when I said give me 200k and I will. Then he killed my trained pets and said give me 200k and Ill stop. So I said Ill just pk your then what? He went away after I summoned my golem and buffed it.
Then i had a nuker following me around for 2 hours by FG begging for buff even tho I told him no over and over.
I buff people all the time dont get me wrong. I just dont like being asked all the time. i could do a 20 minute fraps for just one day of people asking.
Spending 2 hours doing nothing other then begging for buffs...lol. That guy would lose out on 2 hours of exp i dont know why the hell he would do that. just /block name and carry on, if they flag you then kill them. I always make friends with the nearby buffer where i hunt, i get them to talk to me then they give me buffs without asking, then i protect them from such jerks, i just say giv me a shout if you need anything be it mobs or players. I get buffs, he gets security win win situation.
well, with my summoner ever since i got my bw robes (only because i could share the helm/boots/gloves between that and my bw light) i've had people bugging me for buffs, even with a summon and my title set to "Not a Se" but meh, i'm usually in clan/alliance chat so i can't see general. But when i do switch to one of those tabs i usually notice some guy must've been following me for a good amount of time spamming "buff plz, buff plz, buff plz etc."
if farmers are near your hunting spots they will usually buff you if you ask. If no response in all chat just PM them and someone is bound to reply soon, lol.
Guys, it doesn't care what you look like, you'll always get asked for buffs. Hell my lvl 75 PW gets asked for buffs all the time, I mean sure they could mistake me for an EE with nightmare light and dagger... I guess even so who would ask for EE buffs. *Shrug*
But yes prophets do get asked more. It's up to you to buff them and theres really nothing you can do to stop them.
You can enable general chat in the clan tab or vice versa...
...as for giving buffs, it all depends on if the victim is actually being nice and know how to write.. any variation of "plz", "thx", bufzzzz" or anything less than a real sentence should be promptly ignored. Atleast that's what I'd do..
...however the antisocial posture of dual-boxing in a lonely corner of Aden is almost worth a gank now and then, killing the game like that blows...
