Bit of a warning on the Varka Mark of Alliance 2 quest. It's a prerequisite for the Phoenix Knight quest. In order to get lvl 2, you need to get 200 quest items for killing lvl ~78 Ketra Orcs (this translates to about 500 of them) and then 100 quest items for killing lvl ~82 Ketra Orcs (around 250 of them).
One note in the quest description, it says you cannot kill any Varka's or you will lose all of your quest items.
After you get the mark, you need to go into the Varka Village.
To get there, you must pass many aggressive Varka's. On my way over, we aggroed a Varka and I didn't touch him. My party mates killed him.
As soon as it died, I lost all of my quest items, including the Mark of Alliance lvl 2.
I'm not going to spend another 3 weeks killing Ketras...
If you are doing this quest, just make sure you have an out of party group clearing the path for you to the Varka Village.

I didn't commit an act against them. Someone in my party did. There was no information available to me that would lead me to believe if someone in my party killed a Varka that I would be held responsible. Please review the quest information to confirm this.
How are we supposed to get to the Varka village without killing any Varka's?
Thanks for your time in this matter. I'm looking forward to getting my Mark of the Alliance lvl 2 reinstated so I can continue with my Phoenix Knight quest.

Greetings,
Thanks for contacting Lineage 2 Support. By committing an act against the Silenos , it will completely reset your faction with them. This includes any acts committed by persons in your group as well. Unfortunately , we are not able to reset the quest due to a player in your group killing a Sileno.
We appreciate you contacting us , have a great day,
The Lineage 2 Support Team

This wasn't clear at all from the quest instructions. How was I supposed to know this? Also, how do you expect me to get to the Varka Village without aggroing additional Varka's?
It took me 4 weeks to kill all of those mobs. You really expect me to grind out 300 more of those items (killing over 1000 mobs to get these quest items) AGAIN?
Please read the quest description. It says "You" may not attack any Varka Silenos. It does not say anyone in your party may not attack them.
Thank you for your help in getting my Mark of Alliance 2 back.

Hello,
I was doing the Phoenix Knight quest. I was on the Varka Alliance part of the quest. I had just finished getting Mark of the Alliance level 2. Next I had to talk to someone in varka village and on the way over to the village, I aggroed a varka. Someone in my party killed the varka. This caused me to lose 140 ketra molar's as well as my Mark of the Alliance 2. I didn't hit the Varka. It took me 3 weeks of grinding to get Mark of the Alliance lvl 2.
Can you please give me back the mark of alliance lvl 2.
Are you sure you were the one who aggroed the Silenos? I've read, that if you are allied with them, they won't aggro you. If that is not the case; wth?

Thats the thing, he didnt agro the mobs, his party members did. He didnt touch the mobs, his party members did. The quest says YOU may not kill the mobs. Doesnt mention anything about your party killing them. As far as the quest says, he did nothing wrong and should not of been punished, but the game isnt designed the same way the quest is described as.
The quest should read: You may not kill any of these mobs. Also the party in which you are in may not kill the mobs if you have this quest.
I feel for the OP. I did the Spectral Dancer quest and noticed something equally annoying. As you go through the quest with the alliance stuff (Ketra alliance for me) it did not tell me after the 2nd level was secured that I DID NOT need lvl3.
What was needed was a message saying to accept a DIFFERENT quest that the orc had listed. At first I thought I'd need lvl3 to complete my quest, but I didn't. With the help of someone on this forum, I learned to accept the other quest to go into the orc village.
Now, as the OP said, getting deep into these villages without touching an ally is impossible. I was lucky -- I did it the last day the cat GKs were up, so I simply ported to it.
My guess is the Lvl3 alliance will let you use the village GK (Orc or Silenos) but nothing says that. It also doesn't say a thing about you losing your items if your party members kill an ally.
Yes, if you are allied with the Orcs or Silenos, you personally will not be aggroed by them. But anybody who is not allied of course WILL get aggroed. And if they are in your party, you will get your alliance level removed. So what you need to do is to walk there without being in a party, simply following a party which helps you kill the aggro antelopes etc. If you are not in the party, you will not get a penalty. Or just go there in a duo/trio with others who are allied, too. That way you will only get aggro from "non-dangerous" mobs like the antelopes.
The quest was WAY easier with the event cats (noblesse teleports). They allowed you to port directly into the villages, so that you did not meet even one single aggro mob while doing the quest.
BTW later in the quest you have to go to the opposing village (i.e. Silenos when you are allied with the Orcs) to get a statue. The quest tells you that you must not attack any of the opposing mobs. During that part, you are allowed to be in a party which helps pave the way for you - you do not get a penalty when the other party members attack mobs. But you yourself should stay completely out of the fighting (not even sleep/root a mob).
But then I found out that the orcs where a higher lvl, so I started to atk them, I got para'd for a few secounds every time I atked the mob. So at that point I was like WTF.
I finally got around to killing the mob, and I lost all of the quest items and lvl 1 member ship I had with the orc's.
Since it was orcs I wanted to kill I went over to the silenos and got their quest to kill orc's.
But I think that do to the inaccurate data given to the players by the company he should be refunded the lost item.
This company has a nack of makeing stupid *** stuff!
(IE: forceing healers to kill mobs for quest items 'thats rediculious' healers are just that in no way should they be killing anything)(cept undead)
Just curious but if anyone does this why not just leave party and then you won't have to worry what your escorts kill. Maybe a strategy for others in the future.

edit: darn Varaya beat me to it.
Yah, Varaya is the sweetie who helped me get through my quest. :)
It would be easier if they added a line to the quest: IF you are partied with someone who kills your allies, you will lose a membership level.
It would have saved the OP some grief had he known being in a party that killed his allies would be trouble for him. :(
Yeah, support isn't very helpful with this. I had a bug with my cougar so it wouldn't ress, so it permanently died, even though we tried scrolls and spells. They of course didn't do anything.
But of course they allow raidbosses to be solo'ed, but we can't replace a cougar that by all gamelogic shouldn't have been dead in the first place. *sigh*

I understand, that it was his party members who killed the Silenos. I read his post, like he was the one who the Silenos aggroed on initially. So that was what I was wondering about.
At least there is some good news here. While it looks like they aren't going to reimburse anything for me, they will look into changing the quest description.
The idea of grinding out those **** orcs again is too much for me however, so I'm gonna take a extended break from this game, but hopefully some good will come from this in the form of improved quest description:

Tom,
Many things in Lineage 2 are meant for the citizens to find out. Just as you get experience for a party member killing a monster you got credit for killing a Varka thus ending your alliance with them. One might call it guilt by association. You do make a good point and I will suggest that this be changed for those in the future. We are only able to reimburse for issues that are not by the design of the developers.

You didn't explain anything to me. Please answer me this question.
How was I supposed to know if someone in my party killed a Varka, that I would lose my quest items? How was I supposed to know this from the information in the quest description?

Could you please explain this to me?
My issue is that I followed the quest description perfectly. With these high level quests, where you have to kill > 500 monsters and there is a chance of losing everything, the quest description needs to be explicit and clear. In this case, it was not clear at all.
I followed the quest instructions perfectly. Nowhere did it say that if a member of my party attacks the Varka, that I would lose my Mark of the Alliance.
Thank you,
