In C4, the mob no longer drop multiple quest items as in the days of C3. Eg, TOI 9th Floor, the mob dropped Blue print(quest from Aden) and regent ingredient(quest from Ivory Tower).
I wonder what is the rational behind. Such items are profitable and able to help me to generate income to equip myself with gears appropriate to my lvl. But now I have to spend more time to complete quests.
Personally, I dun see the need to change. It really inconvenient casual players like me to earn an honest living. Can we have the old system back?
In short dont have fishing shots quest...

Probably it's a bug. It anyone has the fishing shot quest virtually CANT start coins of magic (matriarch doesn't wish to drop the coin but fluid). And even if one can.. coins get replaced by sweet fluids again...
Indeed. I know a few more overlaps, just fishing screws everything in so evident way. (It's meant for NCSoft not her.. to test and fix it... Some quest items are 100% and still impossible to get).
/agree and hopefully nc will look into why some quest items are so rare as to be unobtainable  I have worked on the TOI blueprint quest for a looooooooooooooong time and have 2 floors that I cannot get, 5 and 13  I think 11 and maybe 12 are rare too. These being so rare as to make this quest impossibly frustrating. HA my clan leader got them all turned them in and got a glove fabric or something equally obnoxious :p Very annoying... I have never once finished this quest.
agree about the fish shot quest messing up other quest drops, this really needs to be fixed
and while you're at it nc, pleaseeeeeeee give us more slots to carry quests than 15! With all the new C4 quests and some that take a long time to collect the items, its again very frustrating :(
i noticed this too...so what i do is switch between quests when i go somehwere...seeing as how 15 quest slots fill up really fast(expically the one for gc and al as you need that mysterous stone) so i have to keep afew in there even if i'm not doing taht quest.
I dun think it is the fishing quest affecting the ability to receive multiple quest items from one single mob. If I am not wrong it is a delibrate settings unless GM says it is a bug.
But then like wad SsxSin says, quest slot fill up easily. Espeically for quest like Formal Wear take up 4 slots!!!??
As a casual player, this new change really put me in a difficult position to earn adena in a shorter time.
THis is a bug. I PMed a GM about it 1 week ago (I was doing the GC quest, getting fishing shot, and no GC items). The GM said that the Fishing SHot quest should not change the odds of getting a GC quest item. 3 days of AOE grind later, I still had 0 quest items. I dropped the fishing shot quest, and Bang, got 4 in an hour. This is a bug, plz fix it.

This is not proof. Expecting to get a GC quest item after only a few days is unrealistic. The GC quest is for farmers who run 9 man groups 24/7. Since you post here, you are not a farmer, so quest is not designed for you.
Now getting 4 items in an hour must be a world record, call Guiness, get it in their book.
See my post: the coins of magic. The drop from matriarch is 100%. Killing 5 - no drop. Then I asked the other guy (I was just tanking/slivering the matriarch) what he got: **** fluids. Cancel the quest. Next dropped.
But indeed GC quest is not a real proof. IMO coins of magic (the real coins) stands much better.
Since sweet fluids drop so often, as soon as you have a bunch turn them into fish shots. Put the shots in your warehouse and cancel the fish shot quest, you can always pick it up when you need more.
Its really not a problem, IMHO, just a minor issue to manage.
You dont read/understand or a free combination of both?
Ahh, it's a bug. Sweet fluids is just a clear evidence (and fast proof). Like the OP stated it happens w/ other overlapping quests.
If not a bug [and purpopsly impl, which I very highly doubt] at least it must be stated which quest have a priority. Understood?
I don't know if it's a bug or an intended change to make it so that you can only get one quest item per mob, but I will say that I don't like it and hope they change it back to the old way.
The quests are bad enough as it is, and I don't really see how getting multiple items from the same mob actually unbalances anything. It's smart play to have multiple quests going if the mobs you are hunting offer it. In fact, it would have been a better fix to just change some of the mobs so that they don't overlap instead of taking the easy way out like they did.

the drop is NOT 100%, i did it in C2 and C3...
and its many other quests that [censored] up some quests..
never got the quest item i wanted, so i canceled the quest where i got items... and guess what.. after 2 mobs i got from the quest i wanted..

Lol, where did you get the idea the matriarch drops the coin 100%. I have done this quest with 2 of my own characters, and with 2 friends. The drop from matriarch was 0% (yes, zero, done in C1 and/or C2). So I suspect having the fishing shot quest wont improve it.
BTW, the coin drops from a shaman. You may have to kill a few matriarchs that are in the way.
I have gotten all three of my coins off the matriarchs - one on first try, and one a few in. I have also assisted two other people getting the quest, they both got theirs from matriarchs.
I noticed this on the pts, wasn't sure if it was a bug or a feature. still not sure if it is a bug or feature, as no one from NCSoft has yet to respond to any of these threads.
I can say with some degree of confidence this is an actual problem, though. fishing shot quest is the easiest to test, but this happens as well with others. I've seen it in Song of the Hunters Quest overlapping with another quest. However,it does not appear to effect class change quests. you can earn 2 quest items if you are running a class change quest (class change quest item and a regular quest item).
this is defintely different from c3 (I know for a fact I was getting double quest rewards from Song of the Hunter then).
if anyone doubts the problem exists, there is a simple test. get the fishing shot quest, then get the Special bait quest from Giran. go hunt fetters, you'll get sweeet fluids 75% of the time, and special bait items about 10% to 15% of the time. drop the fishing shot quest, and the special bait quest items rise to nearly 100% drop rate.
