Raid Etiquette

We've all heard the shouts...."lf nukers/tank/dd'ers/healers for raid/rbg".

Is there accepted 'etiquette' for being in raid group?

Everyone knows some things: main tank is only one healed during attack, buffs before getting there, never run away during raid (lol...last night 2 raid members ran from our group while we were fighting!)....

What about the other questions on do's and don'ts concerning raids?
What would you list as the "TOP 3" Rules of being a member of a Raid Group (non-clan of course)?

Rule # 1 Have 1 tank (spam hate)
Rule # 2 Party the tank with healers
Rule # 3 the rest nukers = no fail

Dont:

1. forget to rez the tank if he dies
2. Forget to check his MP for Hate /recharge
3. forget to pick up the drops
Raid Bosses are garbage in this game till they make a fix for soloers who kill them with their pets
Dont raid with the greeks. They dont do them for drops, they do them for fast XP. I've been in several raid groups with greeks, and never once seen a raid boss drop somthing.

You are better off avoiding raids at lower levels anyways, you need to be making money, not fast XP.

QFT! When you do start raiding, do what you're told and pay attention.
Never forget that if someone else groups started killing a Raid Boss before you, it's considered good manners to do this :

PK their tank then heal the boss.

With the goal, of corse, to make the fight more interesting and challenging for them.

They might even be so thankfull for your help that they will leave you loot on the ground!

:p

I'm joking, don't do that, you'll make ennemis. Well, unless you want to make ennemis.
Tankfull ?? for killing their tank? Very punny!

pffff... nitpicker again...
And if my raid group ever rolls up to a raid boss you are doing, its best to step away, we WILL roll you, you WILL cry to your mama, you WONT get back in time to take out our reds and get gear. ALL YOUR RAID BOSSES BELONG TO US! Sorry, I turned into a raid boss farmer there for a sec.
VR'ing the raid boss is always interesting. Especially when people don't notice that the SE over there is purple...
RBs will always suck unless they share the xp from it over all the parties who killed it..

kinda unfair that tank party get like 10k xp and nuker party get 300k xp!!!!!!!!!!

with this new "raid channel" it would be easy to share the xp... all whos leader is in the channel will share it..
I actually appreciated the advice of "shut up and do what you are told" reply. That's a start.

More to the point though. What would be RULES for members of raid group?
There are lower level raid bosses--and they are standing unattacked in my server--and they do get raided by collections of lower leveled players.

What would everyone say are the "few things every first time raid participant should always/never do?" (recognizing that 'shut up and do what your told' is already a good start).

1. Never run after the fighting starts.
2. Never dismiss self from the group on the way to the raid (after committing to go).
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?

** Understand how drops will be divided or done before you commit.
** If more than 1 group (lordie how the RB's have been nerfed!), put some nukers in the tank group so they can have XP too (unless they don't want it).
** If you commit, BE THERE. Some roles are interchangeable, others are not. If you're the tank and you take off ... well, you aren't going to make many friends. Same if you're the sole SE/SO for all those nukers. In small tight groups, EVERYONE is needed.
** Check your inventory after every boss and RETURN any dropped equipment to the appropriate party. Anytime someone dies, there's a chance you'll end up with something in your inventory, and you might not even know it.
** Check any hostility at the gate before you leave for the RAID. Sometimes in pickup groups, you're in with someone that you had a less than sterling experience with on another day. If you choose to RAID, then you are choosing to TRUST that individual for the duration of that raid. Whinging later because of lost gear, unnecessary death etc is kinda pointless. Either don't go, or trust and support the effort.
yesterday i saw a group of 9 ppl!!! killing a lvl 26 RB..

Crazy, I know... I just wish that the easier ones, like the single-party bosses, were up more frequently.

My clan-mates and I have a few lower-level characters to take a shot at the lower bosses when the bigger ones aren't up. So imagine our discontent in finding that lo and behold, the little ones aren't up either.

Oh well. Next boss...
