ghoul; homu is extremly overrated PvE. you have excellent casting speed w/o acumen SA. and you will level to SoV in less than a week. Any weapon that allows you 2 hits or (1 hit w/ lighting) [provided you have emp!] if good enough.
C grade is a breeze.
Homu was so popular because there was no B grade w/ acumen.
Higher mattack will allow you faster leveling just because of overhits.
hmm ghoul....they have no good SAs tho :/ and if you OE them high, the m.attack wont be that big diff...SoVD with magic power wouldent be a better choice then?
Unless you have real high lvl SE to recharge you; use best mattack wpn. On PTS even using soul ore to regen mana, SpS needed rest after 2.5 buff rounds form equal lvl SE.
Using more mana to cast is not so good. Unless you can one hit!
Once again: forget about SA on C grade. It's one week leveling only. Grab the weapon you can and go kill some mobs. Greed archers (around aden) are one hit w/ lighting. For about 4k8-5k xp. You will level very fast.
Still if you plan to use the char only in C grade (seeding?) you may think more. Once again C grade is a breeze, esp if you have SE to emp/charge you...
hmm okey...well, Ill see what I do then...homus are very easy to get, and easy to sell, so that may be my wep then..Ill see what I can find once I get close to 40 :)
Here's what I used:
Demon set and Homunkulus with Acumen
15% casting speed isnt overated in pve especially if you solo, it can save your life. Also, I typically hit one mob, then another, once they get closer i 2nd shoot them for the kill. Leveling will go faster especially since you have a SE for recharge.
imo, magic power and empower SAs are not worth it for nukers
you got the empower buff from the SE so youll be powerfull enough to 2-shoot mobs
PS I have never one-shot green mobs as a sps (with +4 int and demon set)... dont know where you guys come up with the idea of one-shooting..... purple mobs give less exp and drops arent as good, so 2 shooting green should be good enough :p
If you have a DE buffing you all the time the wep doesn't really matter specialy since you will lvl extreamley fast. I would say go with a cheap wep tell you hit 52. Then get SOV/acu and a doom shield. Save your adena for A grade robes I didnt even bother with B robes went from demon to NM set. Most people go with DC but I like NM its all up too you. I play without an SE buff bot so it will be even easier for you.
From how I understand spellsingers compared to the rest of the nuker classes, you have extremely fast casting speed already, and lower matk.
I'd go with the matk weapon.
(And I levelled a nuker with +3 [censored]/acumen, followed by a 71 SE. Altho I killed faster, I was still short on 2shotting some mobs. And, even with a mana battery, you still have to rest. Making those 3 shots into 2 shots will make it go a lot longer between rests. Get the magic power SA and use acumen pots.)
a lvl 71 SE... wow i wish... assuming the OP has that lvl SE at hand any weapon/sa would be ok... I was able to 2-shoot mobs without emp... you just have to choose the mobs carefully...
as for gettin no SA for C grade, that strategy works if you have enough adena for a B grade weapon... I only got my B grade weapon and armour at 60... so if you don't have money for B grade yet, use a homunkulus until you can pay for B grade :p
if you're trying to save money, then get a crystal staff/stick of faith.... you can sell it pretty easily afterwards and it only uses 2-bsps - with empower you can easily 2-shoot mobs... just have to find the correct ones :D
PS I dont know if it makes that much difference, but if you have a high level SE that has no problems recharging you, then magic power might help you one-shoot mobs... I still think its impossible from my experience, but hey you never know ;)
SoWD + Demon set are good for spellsingers in c grade. the magic power gives a substantial % boost to your matk because it's low to begin with(for a mystic).

well, I dont have a 71 SE ^^ its way lower, but it works well..
I think Ill try a SoWD w/magic power..if it will burn my mana to fast, ill just change it for a homu w/acumen.. I dont realy like the 2-handed staffs :/ only usefull SA is the mana up? 30% more mana, so I can wait a bit longer woth recharging..but even that wont affect my leveling speed, so Ill stick with hte one-handed swords :) and Im sure to be able to oneshoot mobs, im doing it EASY at lvl34, and it cant be that much different later, you just need a high OE wep ;)
