One thing I find myself lacking with L2 is an element of surprise.
Let's take events for example. Your events look like surprises in cereal boxes. When you read the cereal box, it says : "Surprise ! <description of item>". That's not a surprise ! You just told me before I bought the **** cereal box what I would get.
You want a surprise in a cereal box ?
Let's say you open a box of mini-wheats, but there are no mini-wheats in there, just one big wheat.
Let's say you open a box of Alpha bits, you find only G's.
Now THAT'S a surprise. wich brings me to dwarf magic.
We got some kind of useless crafting (oh wait, common crafting) for all other classes, so why not give magic to the dwarves ?
The magic of the dwarves would be useless (kinda like common crafting) but would be fun nonetheless. Here is an example :
You know the Grandis mob ? Sometimes it casts a spell that makes him even bigger (Giant spell). That's a spell that could be used by dwarves to increase the size of a target.
- Curse of the lake ghost spell (Big head).
- Temp squeaky shoes effect spell.
- Turn pet into elpy spell.
Useless spells would be fun as it gives way for harmless mischief, and will contribute to more people flagging. You could go purple as you cast this type of spell.
Sure, but the only place you can get the required spell books would be from a clan hall that you purchase for 800M and then the books would still cost you 500K.
That is if you still want to compare it to the common craft deal.
Yeah, major dissapointing the craft common skills has become.
But the idea of making an event where people can learn a weird spell like one of those...... Now that would be fun. Would be nice for the april fools event!
And dwarves doing magic. Well every dwarf reaching level 75 will subclass as a nuker anyway. You can't be sure these days that what you see is what you get.
But you guys did provide another example of SirElrohir recyclying a Family Guy joke onto the boards followed by immediate **********ing from the Forum Friends (TM).
When someone tries to sneek up on you and and try and kill you, but after 10min are still nuking away at your CP and have 400cp pots still, thats always a surprise because they have run out of mana and end up Bsoe out.
Also walking around in heavy armor then switching so robes and you start nuking as a dwarf/sps, thats a surprise too!
Dwarves as a rule don't believe in magic, they just consider it foolish trickery and dont trust it - preferring to rely on solid scientific and practical solutions.
