Full Drops In Parties

Do you guys split your full drops with your party members? Is it implied in the party, without talking about it, if forgotten to?

Me, TNaked and Frankee were in a party in Disc Necro. We got a full drop, a Dc helmet. Frankee picked it up. He wanted to keep it, but didn't ask us if we wanted our share of the drop. He just happily kept it without thinking of anyone else in the party. If it was me and I wanted to keep it, I would of bought it and gave the other 2 their 1/3 of the money as if it would of been sold.

He's greedy and I can't believe this situation would ever happen.

Thought I would share.
Your suggestion sounds more than fair. A reasonable person would have no problem with it.
Especially because I thought he was a nice person and a friend.
Depends on if he was a clannie or alliance member to be honest. I don't usually 100% expect to get any money from an item like that, especially if I know that person needs it to complete a set and that was the hopeful reason we were exping there to begin with.

I think you'd be better off to take this matter up with your clan leader and keep it inside your alliance then post on the forums about how such and such is greedy.

It's also not like you had the item in your possession and were scammed out of it. You have neither lost nor gained anything but the expierence and adena from the party.

But yes...I would have shared.
Yeah, that's kinda rude there. When I party, I try to split everything I get with other party members. Not just drops, other things as well. Like when I am farming, I always split the crops among everyone in the party. It's only fair I think, since we don't get regular drops when I'm farming.

Wish more people would do that.

Especially because I thought he was a nice person and a friend.

That always makes it worse. It's like it would have been better if it was a stranger that did this. :(
Frankee needs it and he's a clanmate right?

Why not just let him have it? I'd understand if TNaked made this post.

Nope, not a clannie.

I would disagree, I believe he should keep it because its set on "random" or "turn" for a reason, If he wants to then thats fine but i don' t believe he has to or that makes him a bad person.

If i was to get a full drop I don't think anyone should force me to do anything its my drop, and I think its only fair i get to do what I please with it.

You would pick a drop over a friend? I'm not going to lay down and let him walk all over me, like I usually do. Just because i'm a girl, doesn't mean he should take advantage of me.

He wouldn't of been able to solo there. Would be nice if he thought for one second about the other party members. Thanks to my se out of party for VR also, wouldn't of been able to be there at all.
Well, even though Drekk has a valid point, if it was me I would just sell it an split it amongst the party.

However, if drops aren't discussed beforehand, and the loot is based on turn, it's hard to argue that someone must split it.

For instance, the reason that the party is upset is because the helm has great value.

Now, if you were hunting in an area that dropped a lot of SOP, and someone really "really" needed SOP (and got a disproportionate share) he might argue that the party must split it evenly. The example is a little extreme but my point is that one person's valuable item is another's "I don't care". So then will all drops be scrutinized in this fashion? Of course, the value of a full weapon or helmet is quite different from SOP and it's understandable that an argument would ensue.

But again, it depends on the individual. Not only would I split it but I will also just give someone a drop that I get if they really need it. Armor fragements or designs.. whatever. If I were to get a full drop I would just offer to sell it (and did this when I was clan leader: I got a SLS drop, sold it and split it between my clan members.)

The idea being that if I am generous with my drops and decide that I need a party, people will know me as a good party member and want to party me.

But, after all that, if it wasn't discussed then it is hard to pull the "it's only fair" card when what people consider fair varies so much. Sorry for the loss.
what the.... I don't think that was his intent.. i could be wrong but I am pretty sure he just watned the money.

To be honest if it was a boot full drop i don't think you would of made so much fuss.. i think its because its a 60 mil helmet that has caused a rukus...
if the loot is on turn its easy to make it so "u" get the phat loot if u watch the droplist.. if u wnan cheat that is..

random = random

best way is to agree before u start to hunt about rules

usual when loot is on random its whover loot, keeps
I think you should just relax sher. It'll be alright.
I remember C1 when things like this would spark pk wars. Biade was in a party that got a valhalla drop and got nothing from it. <chuckle> Now saying you don't get your cut is called whining. Some people I'd forgive this with a bit of animosity (myn took a full DC robe drop at vrock one night, water under the bridge by now) but Frankee, hehe, put em on his back and tell him then you'll take your cut out of his exp instead.

Wait no, its Hindemith. Let's defend him...and the botters...and the bought accounts...<yawn>

So now lets get this straight, the same people who think he should keep the mob drop thought it was bad for somebody to keep a full drop off a red? It's late, my memory is fuzzy I'll search the thread tomorrow to compare opinions...and laugh.
LoL
Why he should divide it with someone if it has not been stipulated in advance?
Btw TN got Nightmare helmet in my clan party once, and nobody asked about any sharing of drop, but now I know, that I should do next time: ++ post count here :)

Have fun
How is keeping a drop that you got in a party in which legitimate players were legitimately exping IN ANY SENSE related to botting which is a declared illegal action (or buying accounts for that matter)?

Keep your opinions of his 'party etiquette' away from his identity as a legitimate player. Thanks.
Playing fair...seems on topic. But if you like I can bring back the posts accusing him of scamming.
Hrm..Frankee should and IS keeping the helm.

Now this just depends on peoples view points and opinions.

I ( personally ) would keep it too. Now of course I would split it among the party if it was ALL clan or alliance. But if it's people that I hardly know, don't like, or isnt even in the same alliance. The loot belongs to the person that got it after all. It is set on either random..so who ever gets it, should keep it after all.

And ye of course to me, same thing goes for reds. You drop the items, no longer yours really. :)

K when I see full drops in a party with you Ill start throwing bones and skins on the ground to cycle the loot as fast as possible around to me again...learned that one from lush.

Ya, accusing. Why go out of your way to attempt to defame his character?

Oh, and the day that Luke and Mawata are in the same party is the same day that I 1 shot Baium.

-shrugs- So? Lol. And besides Luke, why would I party with you? :)
So far people (READ NOT ME) have posted that he doesnt return items loaned to him and doesn't split party full drops. I assure you, I am not attempting to defame his character. He has no problem doing so on his own apparently o.o

Not that I would want to go..I have enough parties to go at home as it is.

And apparantly people like lieing to you Luke cause..either you're speaking of another Frankee or people just don't like you. ^^

In that case, thanks for your offer to be forum bookeeper and find some old posts about Frankee for us, the public . (Pro bono at that!)

I'll pm you next time I need a quote from a post about Blizz in Cruma Tower.

I would also know that a single request for help become the equivalent of 50+ individuals making donations to help above and beyond anything I would ever imagine or ask for (see Morgase/Shandie)

But I'm certain it was Frankee, would you like a link?

PS - I was never in blizz but good try.
Guess I'll have to go reread my post then..

Hmm, never said "When you were in Blizz" did I?

Was just referring to a pointless event in the past, but nevermind, I'll skip the sarcasm next time.

Ah so stealing the equipment of others is a "pointless event in the past." Duke can I borrow your gear real quick? No being bitter if I "misplace" it kk?

No, but if he had actually scammed, then you'd be in the right in saying this. How bout this..don't give your gear to anyone, especially if you don't know your relationship with them in-game, and you wont have to worry bout being scammed or accused of being scammed k?

But then again, you'd know about this from your Dawnlenore adventures, so I won't bore you.

Sorry, I don't swing that way. Pm FIash though ^^
So then what was last night all about?

Edit: kiss you
Just as a recap:

Sher: Frankee is a scammer for taking the helmet and not sharing... note to self: find Demolish these days

Others: (Helpful comments and discussion)

Me and Luke: (conversation on forums that would have been better in pm's)

Striptease: I'm gay.

Duke? When did I say he was a Scammer?
you didn't you said he was greedy luke said he was a scammer duke is retarted
Luke didnt' say either, he inferred.

Apologies Sher, I was paraphrasing ^^
TY for proving my point.

This is Hindemith. Rather than enforce standards of play, prevent ebaying, and ignore politics in a simple player setting, we allow scamming, botting, ebaying, etc. Not only do we allow it, but we ridicule those who are subject to the actual losses.

Que SORRUS's video of looting a botter, what happened to Lestar? Forgotten.

Que Dawnlenore, Frankee, Anibus scamming screenshots, what happened? Forgotten.

Que inlove screenshots of botting in the lair, what happened? Forgotten.

Que everyone pointing out Phixious buying levels, what happened? Forgotten.

Que us all whining about Redguards to the gm's, what will happen? Forgotten.

How do we expect the NCsoft staff to enforce standards we ourselves do not adhere to? Everyone defends their friends regardless of their actions. Excuses and a big long magic show. Wave your hands all you want, at the end of the day all the hoopla doesn't change the fact that Frankee had and kept gear loaned to him in good faith. Enemy, ally, that's what we call dishonorable. Then again, honor is a high standard for present company now isn't it?

I expect nothing to change and ask nothing of the sort. I recognize the level of RL character evident that people project into their L2 lifestyles. I could care less anymore. But when you come to the boards posting a lie or halftruth to cover up the dirty deeds of another, I will be happy to call it out. At 15 bucks a month, I can afford to suffer a little malice in exchange for dignity. But I guess that's too much to ask of others...but maybe if I ask enough you could at least roleplay dignity to make up for its lacking.

Now maybe that sounds a bit harsh, but posts like this make me wonder if I'm the only one who listens and cares. I protested and brought domi to the forum topic and repeatedly stressed the issue to be told "people can do what they want with their own money." Perhaps Domi finally made a right move, but fortunate for me, I only play L2 for shts and giggles, not to subclass 3 times and make up for my insignificance in reality.

/bitter mode off

Sorry had to get that out. I think I'm better now.
fyi I'm a " Bamf "

OOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo

*pulls up a cup of tea*

this is better than an episode of desperate housewives.... well not really but its up there.
HAHA I <3 this server. At first in a favorite food kinda way, then in more of a friend kinda way, but now it's become a "This realtionship has lasted way too [censored] long and if you put the T.V. on the 'Lifetime' network one more time I'm gonna be forced to eat a still breathing kitten whole" kinda way.
Seriously though I'd keep it. So when you see TuBBs "LFGing" you know where I stand :p
lies desperate housewives has boobies. boobies > all

lies desperate housewives has boobies. boobies > all

true.... but this has boobies too, Luke is a huge boob :P

Still bitter I told Arthos about the pajamas eh?
Sher was not subject to any loss. She never had the DC helm to lose. I personally believe the Lilim Priest is the true victim here for dropping that item.

I personally stand up against botting and ebaying and powerlvling. Can I do much as one individual? nope.

You are right in the sense that this is the "state of our server" at the moment and that is the reason why I am getting tired of playing on it. I enjoy not seeing the names of PrinceOne, PrinceTwo, DarkJuan, LordHanibal in my alliance chat. I wouldn't stand for it for a second. I use up all my /gm 's every day reporting characters on third party programs, both in and out of town. At the end of the day, that's all i can do.

Now back to the post at hand..

hurrah! for dukey!! another fabulous post.... so its settled then, Frankee keeps the helm, luke goes to jail and sher serves me cookies while wearing a "Hello kitty" outfit.

Court dissmissed

as for the PJs? I wear nothing but my birthday suit FYI

Again, I play on the same standards as Sher. All full drops should be shared. That is the only standard I know, and previous instances show Frankee's personal character probably doesn't care to be fair.
but i want cookies!

why? why should it be shared? thats your personal belief thats not a standard implemented anywhere nor is it written in a code book of honor or ethics. to say that someone should share their full drop because you personally believe to be so WITHOUT proper notification in the begining then turning around saying they are bad person is ludicris.

Then perhaps you should broaden your horizons to the other options of party play. I know i personally split among clan/ally members and hold judgement on the other parties, but hey, that's just me. But all are allowed to have their own opinions on how things in a silly video game should be handled, especially in cases when there is no right answer, as in this situation. You are free to tell Frankee you disagree with how he handled the situation (defined in gentler terms), as you stated you pay your $15 and these forums are your priveledge to use. He however pays his $15 the same way, and chooses to play it differently. Neither is right or wrong in this situation.
LOL.. just makes me think.. if I'd have gotten a dc helm drop, there's no way in H3LL i'd have been able to split it without selling it first.

:(
Theres only been a few full drops in partys Ive been in. I got a pair of top B grade non-set gloves back in C2 I didnt share, Ive seen a Doom Plate Armour drop in C2 I didnt get a share of, Ive seen 2 BO rings and 1 BO earring drop.. again no share. And I think I may have been around when someone got a doom shield. And Ive seen a pair of BW gloves in a clan group drop.. which we did share.

In a duo, or even a trio, it goes without question that I'd share any full drop. And in a duo I'd definatly expect the other player to share. But I only ever duo much with nev.. whose poor as (He couldnt afford the texter to draw up his panhandling sign).. so I'd prob let him keep a full drop if it came around anyways.

As for a full group... if a full item dropped, I'd prob drop some of the cash I had on me.. but if I didnt have enough to make up for the whole item.. I wouldnt write down names and go running around chasing people to give them cash unless it was alliance people and it really was a hhuuugggeee drop.

Since I havent got a drop since C2.. I dont think this will really affect me in anyway lol. **** drops!!

I dont really expect others to divide drops. I'd like to see them do it.. but from experience it doesnt happen. And if everytime you get into a group you start setting down rules, people probably arent gonna wanna party with you as much... In the end, Id rather have a bunch of people who want to party with me than a whole stash of adena. I got josie whom I get crafts for free off.. making adena making significantly easier. If I want XP I'll join a group.. if I want cash, I'll craft with jos!
I am greedy :p

the only groups i was in and we shared drops were Orika's groups, but orika always stated it before we hunted and everyone agreed always (in Orika's groups we got like 3 Agr helmets on toi 5 :P )

all other groups doesnt share, and I agree, but in some groups if I would get drop i would drop some money to pay off party members, depends on who is in that group

but sharing full drops is definitely not standard, i was in like 9823759823795283 groups
**** guys. didn't know everyone showed these values.

As for me unless it was stated to split full drops before the party I wouldn't share because I know everyone else wouldn't. But if so, I would 100%.
I've been in parties where there is a party member hunting a certain item that is known to drop from the mobs being hunted. In *some* of those cases, it's been stated beforehand that the person in need either gets it if it drops, or that they get it for a discount.

I've been in parties with Luke, where he's gotten a full drop, he split it. (DC Boots, I think.)

Other than that, I've never been in a party where anyone has offered to split their loot, or asked me to split mine.

**** guys. didn't know everyone showed these values.

As for me unless it was stated to split full drops before the party I wouldn't share because I know everyone else wouldn't. But if so, I would 100%.

I agree, but if someone stated that at my party... if it was my party i would boot them and if it was their party i probobly wouldn't join. everyone is given equal chance in a party to gain the drop (assuming its on random) its like that scenario , If I buy you a pepsi and you look under the cap and win the luxury car should you have to split it with me?

Some people will say yes, and some will say no... we'll never come to an agreement.

Do you guys split your full drops with your party members? Is it implied in the party, without talking about it, if forgotten to?

With my RL friends we split any drop over 100-250k. It's a said rule. With others, it's whoever gets the item gets to keep it unless it is stated otherwise.

I'm sorry that you thought it was implied that items were to be shared, but being that Frankee has (supposedly) scammed before I'd be really surprised if he split the loot among you three.
Everybody has his own opinion about sharing drops - some think "when it lands in my inventory, it is my property", and others (like me) kinda feel bad when a multi-million adena item goes to me while all the others go home with a handful of thread.

We never really talked that much about it in clan, but so far general practice was that if somebody gets a HUGE drop (i.e. the kind which would give everybody around 1m+ if split up), it will be split, unless that player actually needs the item himself for use.

But whenever I am in a non-100% clan party and a full drop goes to a player who is not in our clan, I respect that players decision to either split the drop or keep it, and I do not start a fight over it. But if somebody got a really HUGE drop (like an A helmet or Soul Bow or whatever) and decided not to split, I would definitely put that player on my black list of players not to party with anymore. Yes, it is your right to keep the drop for yourself. But it is also my right to not party with players who are greedy. Keeping an enchant scroll or a DC breastplate is one thing, keeping an item which would give every player in the party 10m+ is something completely different. Of course, if things are discussed before the party starts, anything goes (like e.g. if somebody says "I am here to get item xyz, if it drops, I would like to buy it at a discount", or if somebody says "I need all x blades/edges, please").
I hate to bring this up in this post, but if a full item is dropped, regardless of the item, it should be split up between members of that party. Before you go ahead and flame me, at least listen to what I have to say.

Each and every one of us above level 52 knows how hard it is to get good gear in this game. Harder now for the fact that there is a huge population of farmers on our server. An item such as a DC Helm should be split amongst the players in the party. That item itself is worth 50mil+. With three people in the party thats 16mil each easy. 16 mil goes a long way towards helping your fellow legit players fight farmers.

In my parties, be they with my alliance or with people outside my alliance, I always split the cost of full drops I get. While I understand that players that don't have the resources I have like to keep their items, I still think it is a fair thing to do. I split my crops with other players when I farm for that reason as well. Even if I only get 30 crops out of the deal.

We have a responsibility to ourselves and our fellow players to help each other out. As in life, Lineage 2 is not only about independence, but also about teamwork. I have had people be completely amazed when I have tracked them down a day or two after getting a full drop and giving them their portion of the money from that sale. There shouldn't be amazement. It should be something we all do to help one another out.

Any of you who have partied with me know that I do this. While I don't expect everyone else on the server to follow my rules of conduct, I would hope that by me putting that effort forward other players will do the same.

Whether or not Frankee keeps the drop is his decision. Sher, you now know not to party with Frankee again. Those of you who would like to party with me, and share with each other and grow and prosper accordingly, feel free to pm me in game. I am almost always on Red8 or Blue6 with very few exceptions. I also haven't left town in a month because of other issues in game and in life, but hopefully that will be taken care of soon.

When you party with people, share the wealth. When you raid with other clans and alliances, share the wealth. Hoarding and being greedy does not help a player; it does not help the server. We all need to start acting a little more mature on this server. We can all prosper and grow if we share the same goals and ideals. I am all for pvp and having fun, but I am against hurting other players for greed. It only serves to make non-legit players better, not us.

In the end, though, it all comes down to personal choices and maturity. I understand some of us on the server haven't had the life experiences of others and don't know how things work. This may onle be a game, but it does mimic real life in many ways. Our economy, our politics, all based on real life views. If you can see the strife on our server, then you know the strife in real life. And you also know you can do something about it. One person can make a difference, no matter how small that difference seems.
When within my power I will force/insist/demand all full drops in my party be split. The issue has been argued numerous times by many players. I remind my parties whenever I happen to remember the issues. Better odds on small gains vs low odds on large gains. It's almost an order of magnitude in difference. If you did not discuss the issue beforehand and your party member states their intentions...especially between friends, would you not honor those intentions?

IMO this CONTINUES to lower the status of the player. Knowing Kaemon for some time, I see no reason for false accusations and Frankee does not deny his brother's items being taken. As I stated before, this type of action CONTINUES to demonstrate the nature of an individual's character. Rather than throw those without honor to the wolves, we will protect them. Which is EXACTLY the nature of HGMspam's post about shunning characters from the community. You all keep with this BS attitude of wanting to stop RedGuards but it is, in truth, only your OWN greed for adena. It has nothing to do with fair play, if RedGuards pks you all and takes it by force you hate them all the more. Yet these are the very values you preach to others about sieges or manor systems or lord knows what. It is ironic, pitiful, and shameful.

I would see RedGuards destroyed as much as any other, but I have yet to see one guild left that would dare stand up and do what is necessary to do it. How many levels must one lose to actually change skill effects? 7? Who here will take the karma for 175 pks on each member of RedGuards so that they can bot it back during one night of raids on a US holiday or awkward hours? You want to fight it, you beg to fight it, you DEMAND justice. Yet which one of you would do so for yourselves? We fail to judge our own brethren by the same standards you so fervently petition NCsoft to enforce. Is your 15 bucks a month paid so you can expect others to stand up for you?

The morality we uphold is fickle. Yet we expect so much greatness of others. Is it fun to win by punching in the cheat codes? Do you not recognize that when standing side by side with those that do...you commit the very same yourself? Rather than calling forward clan leaders to uphold VALUES we beg the GM to do it for us.

I pray you are wrong Red, and that less personality reflects through play. What does this world have left to guide us if the generations rising cannot even stand up for those values when the price is as trivial as a game?

I have branched the topic from its original intent, but in truth it relates SO much to the ten million posts the rest of you have made lately. If you believe Frankee is so innocent then fine, the example is trivial. Pick another member of your OWN alliance and insert the name. We all recognize those responsible, especially the most outstanding ones. We are ALL guilty.

I remember standing outside of Giran in October with Reborn...screaming "do something" at the server. It feels like the message never changes...and I echo Domi's frustrations with the game tonight.

Virtue is virtue, you cannot pick when it does and does not apply. Will you judge the black and white, or will you give the space to hide from one another in grey?
>>How many levels must one lose to actually change skill effects? 7?
10, Luke.
You more lose xp on a verge of an xp-walll, though. Still they have rezzers.

As for sharing stuff I'd share any full drop priveded it's sellable and comes to me. If it comes to someone else, so be it.

One again about loot type: by turn is wrong, wrong; yet most ppl refuse to join 'random' loot or demand change.
==
I may provide "a few" examples of Frankee being 'not nice' (not allegations, though). I am totally not surprised he kept the loot.
-----

Posts like this just make me more confident why I lose the pleasure of playing. (esp some of the friends are nowhere to show up any more).
Greed for virtual weath is beyond me. (To SirE if i decide to quit you won't have my stuff just because you're too repetative)
If you want full drops being split - state it beforehand. Generally people don't mind. Then mutual agreement in your party makes the day.
If it is not stated before you get the drop, don't expect to get your share. It might happen, but keeping item is not the reason for hate toward the person being lucky.

Sometimes we come to clan hunts. Doing so we state beforehand we are gonna give the particular item (recipe) to some particular person. If we want to share drops, we agree upon it beforehand. If we don't discuss it, we don't split drops. That easy, eh?

Yesterday our party god DC helmet drop. No share happened, since it was not discussed. We are just happy for Mnu being lucky.

After all, if your friend wins lotto wil you make him feel bad demanding your share? It's just polite to cnogratulate a person, so his luck for a day will become a pleasure, not a headache.
I agree with the sharing people, I also have no problem in joining a hunting party where someone states he needs this or that from the monsters we're hunting.

This thread is nice in helping me to know with whom never to party...

Oh and by turn is only wrong if you have a [censored] in the party who abuses it. Otherwise it's more fair than random could ever get. On random I've seen someone get eight items in a row and someone else getting like five in a whole hour. Screw random.

Was just referring to a pointless event in the past, but nevermind//

This mentality is why noone bothers hiding buying a char or scamming or whatever. They'll get some heat on the forums for maybe a month, oh noes! Another month later they'll say hi and people greets them as if they were a long lost, favoured relative. *sic*

People that admittadly did violate ToS are now accepted into clans and alliances. I guess the hipocrites who yelled bloody murder about them before and then invite them into their midst do so because they did exactly what they did. So what's a little buying adena among clannies, huh? Two-faced arsehats.

I wouldn't be surprised if Prince# made his way into any of the larger alliances in due time. Hey he has a draco bow! He's an asset! Quick get him before another clan does! Throw all values overboard, blow him while you're there but don't worry. In another month everyone will say what a valuable member he always was...

If you think that's far fetched; I saw it happen numerous times from OB to now, ingame and on forums.
Go go Hinde. :(

Hold on, that's not what's happening here. The situation is more similar to, you and your friend go 50/50 on a lotto ticket. Then he says, I'm keeping it all because I drove to the store and bought it with OUR money.
>>On random I've seen someone get eight items in a row and someone else getting like five in a whole hour. Screw random.

Therer are numerous threads about; fact is: by turn let you choose if you pick which is not right. Imagine there are green stones, red ones, arrows and some tasty full drop. It you puck, you can easily make it go into your hands; w/o being any abusive in the 1st place. Random is indeed random; I have got 2 full drops (C grade before greed blinds someone) in a single morning and got nothing for months. So what you explain is just an exception.
Honestly. I can see both sides of the coin here. I think that the standard that has been set on this server is that we do not share full drops (except for a few of you that openly state the sharing...IE Luke). I have been in parties where people get full drops and I have never asked for them to share. I think that unless it is clearly stated up front on what is to be done with the loot, then the person that recieved the drop has the choice to do what they wish. If they want to be kind and share...or if they prefer to keep it...so be it. If the "rules" were not set up front, then there are no rules to go by.

Ive gone by the rule too, anything over 250k you share in your party. Knowing though that 95% of the server would keep their own drops though...it makes it a bit harder to stay by these rules. Luckily, I havent recieved a full drop in forever to put me in this situation (lol). Either way you see it, you should set the rules up front. Those that do not agree can leave the party. Either way, I would not come on here whining about not getting a drop. Instead I would congratz the person for being lucky enough to get the drop.

I could be a bad judge of character...but seeing her posts in the past and knowing the little bit about her that I do...I do not believe that if the tables were turned, that Sher would split the drop.
Luke : Bringing up character tendencies have absolutley nothing to do with sher's post. Sher has been around long enough to know frankee, she CHOSE to party with him. So any past history is obviously forgiven.

Drops: It is up to the person's individual view point on this, we in Divine say grats and if we don't need the item, sell it to a clannie in need at a discounted price. Doom Boots =1m, that kinda thing.

This is why we hunt in clan parties and with people that share our values. There was absolutely no need for sher to come here again with her personal 1 on 1 problems other than to defame yet another toon that got on sher's bad side.

The only person that has ever given me anything for an expensive drop is poorgirl, coolest fricken BH on the server. The rest I say congrats to.

Go read the bartz forums on Cruma Tower and look how ******ed their community is. All I gotta say is this post should never have been made here, and once again, luke should have kept his opinions to himself.
I've givenfull drops to friends in party before, if I'm with strangers I'm generally a bit more stingey though. It would be great if people started doing this more frequnetly, however most people would just as soon stab a stranger (or a friend, with some people and no I amn not implying anything about anyone) for a bit of profit, unfroutnately.
This game is unlike any other that I have really played in that full drops are so rare. I believe in groups with no matter who its with, that need before greed should apply. If someone in groups needs it and would actually use it, no matter how much i might cringe giving it away, I would do so without any hard feelings as long as I knew that person would use it. I wouldnt expect anything in return for it. However, if a person received a full drop and I did need it as an upgrade, or as a completion of a set, then i would be slightly ticked. I would never sell an item like that though, I am sure someone in whatever group I was with could actually use it before its wasted or worse....CrYsTaLiZeD!!!!! I have learned not to expect anything from anyone really, which makes the nice things some people do a real treat :)

On a side note!!! I killed a pk'er in AC the other day, I was so excited I was kinda shaking, lol. He got the Bishop Beatdown! Bet thats gotta hurt the ole phsyche. :)
ROFL GG. Nothing more personal than to say a bishop beat you 1 v 1. Everyone's opinion on drops are just that. They are not social rules, but rather preferences. When those helms drop, do you guys really think he is keeping it for himself? Most players keep these items for their clan mates that are in need. Should they be nice and explain that to you? sure. Is it required? not by an law, just a preference. If you are really bothered by this, just don't party the guy.

Public lynching of a toon is ignorant though.

Hold on, that's not what's happening here. The situation is more similar to, you and your friend go 50/50 on a lotto ticket. Then he says, I'm keeping it all because I drove to the store and bought it with OUR money.

I see it from a different angle. You and your friend lotto tickets and make a party watching TV showing this round of lottery.
Two tickets for you two.
Only one wins for a day.
Do you share it or not? What about 9 friends?

Needless to say raids are another story. Because it's not that random. Raid squad is suppoed to get few major drops.
loool luke is stooopid =D

Public lynching of a toon is ignorant though.

Yes it is. And it reminds me of a quote about people in groups doing stupid things....
My opinion on the matter (I didn't read any of the posts above)...

In a full party (5-9 ppl) that's set to "By Turn" if you get a full drop, you keep it. It's always been like that, and I've seen many ppl get full drops and they've kept it, and I only got one full drop that's worth more than 10m in my whole time of playing L2 (a NM helm).

On the other hand, in a duo (2 ppl) if something drops I'd share it with the other person and expect him to share w/ me if he gets it; that's why I usually mention something at the beginning like "if we get something, let's split it." (Unless it's a duo where the other person is only doing 10% of the work or just joined 5 minutes ago... then it's a different story)

So your situation is kinda touchy... 3 ppl... Not quite a duo, not quite a full party... But something in between. Should've made a decision at the beginning instead of assuming they would share a full drop like you would've. On the other hand Frankee could've assumed you would have kept a full drop if it was not him who got it; so he thinks it's fair to keep it since he was the lucky one.

Of course there are some VERY nice people who share full drops even in 9 man parties, but you really don't have to do that IMO unless you're that kind, and normal ppl shouldn't be compared to that as a standard... In the end, I'd say he didn't do anything wrong IMO.

/rant
Normal people shouldn't be compared to being kind?
Yanno, if people were a little less greedy and a little more kind as a rule instead of an exception, we would all have a lot more fun in PvP and sieges and wars.

I, personally, would much rather PvP someone I know is a good guy, have our words on the field of battle, and go have a beer afterwards. Maybe I'm alone here in this.

Being kind should be the RULE, not the exception. Those of us who are older understand this a little better than those of us who are younger.

And yes Luke, this game, like every other game ever invented, mimics real life. Not that I'm saying it's an exact copy, but it does mimic many things in life. Every game ever made mimics real life in some way.

Okay my rant is now complete.

Except for one last quote:
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

I think that says it all.
I'd much rather pvp someone I do not like ;) much more satisfying when you kill them, especially if they then talk [censored] it's even more satisfying :P
Well, I'd have to say if I myself got a full drop that was worth 50M + I would split it with my party members. But maybe that's why I never party with big groups any more. I prefer to solo and any drop I will ever get will be mine. Sad thing is I've leveled a SH to 74 since I came back to L2 near the start of C3 and have yet to get one full drop since level 30 when i got a pair of buckskin boots. 10 levels at DC killing doom crap and not 1 full drop. In c1 I would have had 20 by then. In all my L2 playing days I have seen about 4 full drops from parties and I have never receieved anything from any of them. When I was in Divine back in the day, we used to hunt Anghel Waterfall nonstop. On consecutive nites we got E-Bow drops back when they were worth 15-20M. One group was 5 people one was 6. In C1 that was alot of money. Neither person shared the wealth and I would consider them pretty respectable players at that time. (1 is still around, the other is not) The fact is, everyone in this game is greedy. It's human nature. True, you would never be able to solo those areas and thus not be able to even try to get the reward and most people do not take that into consideration. But since c3 drop rate are so low that seeing a full drop is very rare.
And on the subject of Frankee, I am about 90% sure its not the original Frankee so any scams or bad behavior should not be linked to this one, other than its a bought or transfered account.... Just my 2 cents take it as you will.

ps Sher I fel the pain of an out of party buffer. In fact, I refuse to bring mine along anymore unless she is partied. Why should I spend my days getting a high level SE only to see her snubbed for xp and drops. "well, you shouldnt get 2 characters in party, you get 2x's as many drops". I hear that a ll the time. You know what, if we dont have an se we dont hunt. Its that simple. People really dont realize how much extra cash it takes to gear and port that extra character. Take your main characters cost x's 2. ANd you get the jest of it. HWat would have happened if your se was in group and she got the drop? WOuld have redropped it or wouldyou have split it? My main thing is if BUff gets a good drop, I roll dice and winner takes it. But as in my earlier staings, I never see full drops so I don't have to worry about it, lol.
MistressSherL2 is just whinning...like a 2 year old. mine mine mine.. want want want.. Get over it.

She expected a different response, but Frankee did nothing wrong. Some people need to think before posting, cause all this thread did was give Luke a chance to flame and bring up past issues.

Your group didn't mention sharing drops so the lucky person who got the drop was just that lucky.

Grats Frankee!!!
nothing wrong with keeping a buffer in the party if it's 2boxed

but I have the tendency to randomly kill buffpets........

death to buffpets..........

nya and I will take over the world

Being kind should be the RULE, not the exception. Those of us who are older understand this a little better than those of us who are younger.

Agreed. I, in good conscience, could not keep it without compensating the others. But, then again, I'm old and don't feel a need to "win L2 at all costs". People suck (I find myself saying this more and more often).
If I 2box, I usually insist that my prophet or SE be kept in party. I also pm all the prophets/SEs on my friendslist, and ask that they keep looking for a real buffer/healer. I play a good SE, and a play a good prophet.. but not simultaneously.. So it's always better to have someone who's eye is on the job doing the job ^^

Side note: I don't play my prophet anymore, she's on the same account as my sorceror. She's now sitting in EG to buff an alt and the occasional lowbie ^^

Especially because I thought he was a nice person and a friend.

You used to duo with targic ( another example of a scammer/griefer that ppl forgot) and even defended him;

I remember a post with the tilte : "Frankee scams"

Sher u need to be more selective on your friends..

Or I may starte believing you are like them.
Poor lil ole Lukey. Getting hated on so much. Why dont you guys give him a break?

He aint got nothin else to flame about these days, let him keep his reason for existence.

You guys are such.......poo poo meanie heads
Naw, Sher is groovey baby.

She's just got one hell of a temper (I have never been on the receiving side of it thank god) and she is definately high maintenance.

One hell of a TS voice Ill say tho (grrrrrr)

Ouch, Cherise just slapped the back of my head :o
You would have kept it too Sher.

All I had to say on this.
Why not congradulate him on getting a good drop? Be happy for him. Remember, the item drops can either be random or by turn. Whatever the item quality is irrelevant. Too many times have i seem full a grade drops go by and I haven't gotten any of them. It's usually the **** healer that gets them. LOL. Life's too short to get upset about it and remember it's just a **** game guys.

Besides, I would've kept it too.

Clan: PenetratoZ

I split full drops, Ty. You don't remember the bot we got a full drop from? I split it with you, duhhhh.
I believe that no matter what stupid excuses people make up, or think of, the drop should be definately split between the party after being sold.

I was in a MaFiA party WAAAAY back when, a long LONG time ago when I wasnt in they're clan or anything, and Ryannon got a Dark Crystal Gaiters drop. She sold it, and gave me my split of the cash.

Is this not fair? Is this not reasonable? I think it most definately is. People should split it, its the party that is spamming they're Soul and Spirit shots for killing the monsters that drop the items, so why should he be so special and lucky to keep it?

I believe it should be split. Its only fair. Think of any excuse you wish to but its the truth, and some of you I believe are just beating on Sher, which is quite unjust.

~
I was in pt with raiyn once, and her panties dropped.... best drop ever ! was a full party though, so I had to share with 7 other ppl :(

You would have kept it too Sher.

All I had to say on this.

I split full drops, Ty. You don't remember the bot we got a full drop from? I split it with you, duhhhh.

Burn
training/killing bots and sharing drops is quite different than a random drop from a mob.

poor comparison!

oh and if you want to share drops in a party do finders keepers then divide the loot @ the end, else its up to whoever gets drops tough if it is not you.
Get out of the BS parties with you know who and you know where izzy.
Chlorinem, nice excuse, second, thats not a poor comparison.

She still shared the drop. Its about the drop then the drop to adena, then the adena to be split, its a different situation but it includes the same end game.

training/killing bots and sharing drops is quite different than a random drop from a mob.

Why, exactly?

Get out of the BS parties with you know who and you know where izzy.

I have nothing to say to you or any Divine, Ivy.

Except one thing.

Go get your dignity back.

Chlorinem, nice excuse, second, thats not a poor comparison.

She still shared the drop. Its about the drop then the drop to adena, then the adena to be split, its a different situation but it includes the same end game.

You just contradicted yourself,

"It's a different situation"

Yea it is, poor comparison - Like I said.

Anyways that wasn't the point. I know logic is hard to counter with emotion, so you would see it as an excuse; the drops are determined when you join the party, unless something else is spoken yes whoever gets drops they keep them, either by turn or random. If no such agreement exists and people do split drops it's nice, but by no means expected nor it should be.

Clan/ally/friends parties are the same, however people would be more motivated to give away/share a drop with friends/clannies.

training/killing bots and sharing drops is quite different than a random drop from a mob.

Why, exactly?

Because you know its coming and can agree to terms beforehand, if you don't agree to anything then it's the same as any normal drop.

You ought to know me well enough by now to know that I wouldn't let you do that without a fight :p

The only instance where I would have trouble compensating for a full drop would be if I got a majestic circlet. I need one to complete my majestic robe set, but I can't even come close to being able to afford one. In other cases, I give the drops away, such as the DC Robe and Soul Bow recipes I've given to my clan leader to register in his crafting book. A Warsmith can make far more from a single high-level recipe than I could get by selling it and Josie can save my clan mates significant amounts of money if he has the recipes to craft the gear people need.

I was in pt with raiyn once, and her panties dropped.... best drop ever ! was a full party though, so I had to share with 7 other ppl :(

i love lush
If you are using the in clan trouble between two players as an excuse to party with babygirl, you are pathetic. I have no dignity to reclaim, as I never lost it. I am pretty sure what you are talking about, lets see how you respond now.

whoever gets drops they keep them, either by turn or random. If no such agreement exists and people do split drops it's nice, but by no means expected nor it should be.

It's not expected to share with your fellow players? Would you like me to raise prices on my shot crafts back to giran normal for you Hips? Share and share alike. I have never been in a party where I got a full drop and did not share it with other members in my party. Even those who weren't in the same alliance or clan as I am.

Kindness should be expected. Greed should not be. And if it was me, and I definitely needed the drop. I would at least compensate the other players if I needed the item. It's common courtesy. And by not doing so, you are promoting the greed which has made the server the way it is. If more people shared and helped one another, there would be a lot less need for people to eBay money. By turn meaning a lot less farmers and botters. Wouldn't get rid of all of them. But would make the problem go down immensely.

If you get a drop from a mob while in a group, it should be expected to share with the rest of that group. It's the right thing to do. It makes for a better playing experience for all players. And don't give me that crap about "If I share and he doesn't, then what?" because if everyone was sharing and people took notice of that, then it wouldn't even be an issue. I share, you share, we all share. We all get better, and we all end up happy.

Full drops are a rarity. Luck of the draw is not a feasible solution because it makes others bitter when they don't get a share of it. It's not like Sher wasn't helping the party out. Frankee could not have solo'd there to get the drop himself. It was a TEAM effort, and full drops should be treated as a team reward.

END OF STORY.

Ty, vm.

Edit: For Ivy, sorry last response to you now I promise, Im not using that clan trouble as an excuse to party BabyGyrl, I just prefer him over you guys. Bye bye ivy.
maybe clans should use the old TorTure way of handling drops... if u got a drop, even in a mix clan pt, you had to turn it into clan WH and Rhakasha distributed items as he saw fit
My clan makes parties all the time, and when anyone gets a full drop all they get is gratz lol. Last time someone shared a drop off a mob with me was in a duo in c1, and it was a comp shield. How come nobody else is crying that Mnu got a DC helm drop and kept it? Oh wait, Ang3erofgod also got one the day before Mnu. Funny that these guys parties said wow gratz to them, and you feel the need to cry over it. Is this a personal attack on Frankee? Just jealousy? I know countless others who would have done the same thing, and I would have said gratz to them too. Only difference between trio or full group is you have a better chance to get that drop yourself.

As far as I know, drops are kept by whoever gets them, unless previously stated. The 1 person in the party that views this as wrong needs to ask before the party starts if they are concerned about it. The other solution is to solo. I don't expect anyone to watch many others get full drops in parties, and then have to split it when they finally get one.
<chuckle>

So different are those that leveled in Prelude, and those that leveled in C2 ToI or AOEing ABG in C3. This gives me a good list of who and who not to party at least. However disappointing the reality is that you all are quite greedy o.o This is NOT the first thread on drop sharing...but I do believe it is the first time that the majority has said don't split.

Regardless of Sher whining or not, I am glad she posted. Between this and the previous behavior of the player (which does matter Andothe, I'm not sure how you seperate a players standards from the player) confirms who I would and would not fight with. But that would be all too noble wouldn't it? Fighting for values instead of politics? I guess we can always beg Spam to fix it when one group falls too far eh?
Frankly, I see nothing wrong with what Frankee did (in this one specific instance, heh). Unless it was agreed-on before the party got rolling, what gets stuck in his inventory from a monster is his, period.

This topic comes up now and then, and for some reason people always seem to imply that the lucky SoB who got the drop is been greedy by keeping it...yet nobody calls out the people complaining for true greed.
The party members who expect someone else to "share the wealth" are worse!
Why on earth would you have a right to his inventory? People get blinded by the greed of a major drop and completely forget the underlying principle--but it'll come out if we use a smaller-scale example:

Do you try to keep all drops even, or just when someone gets something really expensive? If you got a stack of Iron and I wanted half of it, would you split it with me or keep it?
If your answer isn't "of course", well, doesn't that tell you something?
If a "principle" only exists when there's a lot of money involved, it's greed. Practically by definition.

I usually do some kind of split, because I want to. If I wasn't in the mood for it and someone, after the fact, told me that I was obligated to share...well frankly I wouldn't think very highly of that person from that point on. It's never happened, though--parties I've been in have always had a more "wow, you're lucky!" approach to full drops.

Edit: I'd also have split the Iron if I were in a good mood, because I prefer to avoid the double standard :p

You've nailed this Sovrath. I totally agree with you on this. Having said that, <factor hang tight...haven't sold the circlet yet.>
I admit I'm surprised by your reply, Bekkar.
No matter what you do, and no matter what you say, not ALL people WILL share drops.

Everyone has a different opinion and view on this. Some say no, others say share. Big deal. If you want the larger drops to be shared, than maybe you should point this out before you actualy go out hunting. OR pick the people you know will share the drop/split it.

Frankee did nothing wrong. He decided to keep it because no one had agree'd on splitting any kind of drop to start with. It was picked up, so he got it. Big deal. ( And btw, WTS DC Helm. :) )

Nor of course I agree that if it's either a full clan or alliance party, than ya sure, why not share it? They are you're family after all.

But as for mixed groups, no thank you. I think I'll be selling that SoM and spend the money on oh I don't know, my own weapons and armor. Hell, I'd even put the money in the clan wharehouse too. But to split it among people that isnt in your clan/alliance/ or you hardly even no seems very stupid to me. Why would someone write down the names and than go chasing after that whole party to give them the money? Right, they shouldnt ( my opinion, bite me :) )

So either way, there will be those that will share, and those that wont. And there is NOTHING you can do about it.

The end. :)

;D Nah the GM just mailed me asking me to "please not post any more of those very long threads." I even posted three of them and within 5 minuets they were all gone. ^^

wrong people will on bartz becouse we pked all the ones who wont share off our server you dont shar on barts the drop better be worth a re roll.

maybe clans should use the old TorTure way of handling drops... if u got a drop, even in a mix clan pt, you had to turn it into clan WH and Rhakasha distributed items as he saw fit

yea into his own pocket
Ppl are greedy, both ways. I only get mad if someone gets a drop they dont need and wont sell it to someone who needs at discount.

Our players aren't that mature, apparently.
Grats to those who managed to make this a real thread...

In this case....

-Loot rules/sharing were NOT established or agreed to beforehand.
-One party member got a drop and believed the drop theirs.
-At least one party member thought they should be sharing large drops.

(Do tell if I have made a mistake...)

Basically...
You all hopped in the party leader's car and bought lotto tickets with your own investment. (time in this case) One of your group won.
You expect them to share the winnings when you did not agree to that before the results happened?

This would be a completely different thing if everyone agreed to this beforehand.

I am sorry but the default party still doesn't give me mat and armor/weapons pieces sharing.
I usually even offer to swap pieces and only get the "you can buy them" answer...

I would love to live in a world where I could expect drop sharing... but the fact of the matter is that I seriously doubt the OP would have split it as they described if no one said anything.

I admit that I do not know Luke or the OP very well... and that most of my doubt comes from the nature of the game and the scams people play... but then again if either of them want this consideration, they had better say so when I join the party and then pass it to every person who joins. If no one has shared anything with me, explained the party was sharing loot, or said anything about loot rules, I would assume the drop is mine. Provided it was early in the party's existance, I more than likely could be convinced that we were supposed to be sharing... but if another drop had fallen and we didn't share it, then I would be feeling played...

Want to change the default? Then do so in every party you are in. Make sure people KNOW what is expected of them.

Also... there are technical issues....
Selling a 60Mil item is not always very fast... how exactly do you plan on disbursing the funds once you actually do sell? Finding people I group with often isn't hard, but finding 9 people to give them their share of adena is not going to be a quick thing. It is possible, but not practical. The drama might not be worth the price of admission here. This would be especially true if a clanwide spat occured because of such a shared drop not selling fast enough. If I sell it for 54 mil are you all going to be upset? If I sell it for 70 mil do I keep the extra 10 mil?

If someone in the party has 60mil and wants to buy the item then the amount could be split easily and on the spot... however, I must admit that I don't usually have 60 mil lying about at any one time... Do you guys?

To be fair, my luck at drops is horrible. (Less than 5 mil worth in non-raid full drops and I have played since Prelude.) I don't usually see drops and won't win if I have to roll against someone anyways.

As you can probably guess from my experience, "sharing" would help me immensely...

I just do not see it as practical in a game where intentionally abusing game rules to scam people is officially sanctioned.

I admit I'm surprised by your reply, Bekkar.

I share/split things because I want to (big or little things, doesn't matter). It's based entirely on my own personal motivations. If I split something, it's for the same reason why I might just give for nothing to a friend or clannie--it makes me happy to do so.

If I, for some reason, woke up one morning and decided that I didn't feel like it, I don't believe that anyone would have a right to demand otherwise. Frankly, I think such a demand would be selfish, for the reasons I previously described.

Will I ever have that change of heart? Probably not. However, I like to be clear that I'm sharing because I want to, not because I owe it to the party. When someone starts to force obligations on my good nature, I protest.

The motivation/obligation aspect of it is kind of like this to me:
I often overtip a little. It doesn't take much from me and it usually makes somebody's day a little better.
However, if I ever decided "I don't feel like it today" and pulled out a calculator, that would be my right...and if the waitress said "excuse me, I think you should be tipping more than that" then I would object vehemently. I'm not obligated to be generous, I just feel like it.

Ah only if it was :(

Our players aren't that mature, apparently.

True dat :O
All I have to say is....... are you surprised? Seriously. Have none of you listened when my brother and I tell you guys not to trust Frankee? Hmm......... Can't wait to see what happens when he does something bad to his current alliance. Remember people at one time Frankee was friends with my brother. There is a reason Mishkel bashes on the guy.

Do not trust Frankee with anything.

How is keeping a drop that you got in a party in which legitimate players were legitimately exping IN ANY SENSE related to botting which is a declared illegal action (or buying accounts for that matter)?

Keep your opinions of his 'party etiquette' away from his identity as a legitimate player. Thanks.

Sorry, I just read this. Um... "legitimate player"? Really? So NO ONE other than the "original" Frankee has played that account? lawl. If you say so man.

Luke, thank you for remembering and not forgetting. So many people just like to let it slip from their mind just so they can have one more high level player in their alliance.

I usually don't split with a random party unless it's been decided beforehand. I've always split with clan groups though... kind of regret splitting that DC helm way back.

WTB DC Helm recipe ._.

~

If i remember correctly, ryannon is a mage, since she dont use heavy armor its ok to sell and share the profit, but if ryannon were a heavya rmor user I think she should keep the drop for her, its like lottery, the lucky get the drop;
I probably would be disapointed if I were forced to sell a drop that i can use, one of the purpose of killing the same mobs over and over is the possibility of getting a drop;if u guys take it from me i wouldnt hunt..

lol who are you? scrub.
Bekkar made a good point. The greedy ones are the ones demanding the lucky guy to share. You only whine because it was an expensive item.

Personally, I hardly team outside alliance. I can get better XP solo, so teaming is only because of the fun factor. Teaming random people usually isn't fun. They hardly chat, or all use their own ally vent server. Inner-alliance I'd share the drop. Inner-clan I might even give the item to someone that really needed it.

I'd never expect that from other people, though. I have no right to tell others how to handle something wich was decided theirs upon game mechanics!

I'd never expect that from other people, though. I have no right to tell others how to handle something wich was decided theirs upon game mechanics!

Upon game mechanics? So if your party over-aggros and a nuker drops a mob across the room...since you arent there in 15 seconds, when I pick up that full drop are you going to "gratz" me for game mechanics? No, you're going to tell me your party earned the drop and give it back.

Parties do balance out. In general you exp for a few hours, everyone gets a decent number of mats and they spread out pretty equally. The large full drops throw this off balance. That's why you split these things. The whole pt spent the ss to earn it, you couldn't kill it alone with efficiency. TY, however, for showing me more and more which clans/players hold up to which standards.
If your high horse is based entirely on that rather absurd situation where someone is intentionally exploiting the mechanics...well, I don't think Ehli is the one with the problem :p
WTB split of some nice drops. I've seen a few 50+ mil drops off mobs in my parties, and never once had anyone offer to split, nor ask me to split it. I'm pretty sure when Nort got his DC helm on toi 9 a week ago he didn't offer or get asked to split it.

Hell, while everyone wants to be even steven, why don't toi blueprints get split evenly? I see people get 11, 12, and 13th floors within an hour, then check my inventory to see two 4th floors and an 8th. Some days your lucky, some you aren't. If everyone just kept their drops, the value should in theory balance out over time, no?

For all those bashing Frankee for keeping a drop, perhaps you should first consider the practices some of the members of your own alliance employ (eg. Nort, which I personally don't disagree with). Be happy for the person and maybe they'll even split it just because they want to.

In this case, I forget the exact words of targic's previous post, but they were perfect. Something along the lines of "sher, you would have done the same thing."

WTB split of some nice drops.

As Silver put it, she saw one drop get split and it wasnt even an expensive one. I later sold the DC boots to the pt member for 4.5 I think. No, I don't feel it evens out. Look at the people with bad luck enchanting/crafting. Some people end up REALLY poor in this game because of luck. Personally, I'd rather help than hurt. But it's funny, as I said, because I have rarely had to argue this issue until recent chronicles. In Prelude/C1, we split without even asking. It was just assumed. The standard begins to disappear with time though.

My "high horse" is based off of that and that alone. There is a previous thread where Ehli stated drops on the ground after 15 seconds are anyones. I guarantee she would not take it that way if she lost the drop or her party. This is a combined example of what an awkward/dishonorable standard I consider such things to be. "I take because the game says I can." If that's the standard, then why do we hate the scammers? Wait, nevermind, we don't hate the scammers, just the scammed. Welcome to Hindemith. I guess there is a reason I rolled a Paladin after all.
Some people having bad luck crafting or enchanting is an understatement. I am currently 1 for 39 on percent crafts. I don't even do them anymore since I finally was able to craft something. I have blown up all but one weapon going for +5.

Since C3 started I have gotten about 30 or so full drops. Not all of them are worth anything, but a few have been worth more than 3mil. If I am in a party, and I get a full drop, it gets sold and I split the drop with my party members, whether or not they are in my cln or alliance. As Luke said, basic mats even out over time, and if they don't and someone needs them, it's hardly a detriment to share them. Full drops, however, do not even out over time. Personally, I end up with a lot of full drops for some reason, perhaps that's why I always share them with my party. I know a lot of people who have never seen a full drop. How is it in any way fair to them to see people getting full drops when they are in a party? It's not. Full drops, by rule, should be shared. While not everyone agrees with this policy, it's something that should be done simply to help other players out. I have made some good friends by helping them out like this. People stand by my side because I do what's right and fair. A lot of you who think that if you get the drop it's yours and no one elses do a lot of soloing. Don't you think there is a reason for that? And don't give me that BS that you enjoy it. People are, by nature, a social creature. There are a lot of people that I won't party with because they don't feel sharing is necessary or right. I have even had people whom I have given a share of the drop to that don't even say thank you for it. Those people never get a party invite from me again.

Think long and hard about how you deal with this type of issue. Sharing is not something that should warrant this type of response, with people saying that it is an exception to share. I don't know about you people, but when I was in kindergarden, sharing was taught to me. It was taught that sharing was the right thing to do. Perhaps it's because I'm older and maybe they don't teach these things to the younger kids these days. I mean hell, some of you weren't even born when I finished high school.

At the end of the day, by sharing full drops, not only will you feel better about yourself, but you will help another person see some happiness. And more happy people means more fun. I play this game to have fun, not to sit and argue with people over what is the right thing to do in a given situation. The right thing to do should be paramount and never need discussion.
I got a full drop this morning..... a set of wooden gaiters :)
L33T Wooden Gaiters!!! :)

Grats for thinking up a very unlikely event, picking out a small part of the whole post and using this to proove your point for the whole matter. At least you made a good example on how not to discuss. Really. Geez.

What if a plane crashes on my house just when I wanted to pickup the DC Helmet, I get DC-ed and next in turn gets it. Daamn what an unfair system this must be!
Red8, while I agree with your motivations, I don't think that they make for an obligation to share good fortune.

If my friends and I carpool to go get fast food, and I win one of those random contests they run, am I also obligated to split the winnings? Much like an L2 party, I wouldn't be there without them.
It is, however, my good fortune, and thus my decision to share it or not. If I won and they were immediately discussing how they were going to use their share, would that be right?

Is it a nice thing to do? Yes.
Is it something I'm obligated to do? No.

I also think your presumption that people who don't share never get parties is flawed--for one thing, they get parties with people who agree with them. I'd party with them and not really care either way, since I'm not greedy enough to expect a cut. Really, if they didn't get in parties, would we have threads like this on a regular basis? ;)

If people feel strongly one way or the other, nothing stops them from clarifying their stance before the party begins. No hurt feelings that way. Expecting everyone to feel the same way, then acting offended when they don't, is silly.
I think full drops should be somewhat shared. I don't believe in getting a 50 mil on-the-market drop and expect to drop 50 mil adena in a party so when I pick it up it distributes evenly. If I got a 50 mil adena drop I would probably only drop a few mil. If its a clan party the drop goes to people who need it and nobody splits it in party. I believe in the 'drop turn based" system too but its just friendly to share the loot a little. I have not shared a nice drop before with a party but it was because I was DEAD broke and nobody in the party seemed to mind me keeping 100% of the loot's worth. There are also people out there that just don't "need" the adena or drop. Like the other day we had a party of mostly clan members and a Legend's WC. He got a Majestic Necklace drop (I think it was a necklace....I forget, some majestic jewelery) and he offered to split it and we all refused him because he told us how bad of jewelery he had and he really needed it. None of us were like bum-broke so it didn't matter. So I say it all depends on the groups, some of these completely mixed parties with 8 or 9 different alliance members in them I really don't expect a split, but would be nice. I just say be realistic with what you expect from others, otherwise you are going to be bitter about it. Never EXPECT out of alliance or friendship circle people to share with you.
Y'all need to just pt with me sometime. Full drops ALWAYS get split if I get them. And I don't expect other people to do the same. It isn't an obligation to do so. It should never be an obligation to do the right thing. I never expect to have other people share their full drops with me, even tho I always share with them. But people that I have partied with and have seen me do this have also started doing it. Perhaps I need to start partying with all you people. Because sharing drops helps legit players succeed against a server with 60%+ population of pro farmers. Think about the ecoomics of it and you will see it's true.

You are totally wrong there sir. You don't know me at all, so don't act like you do. Targic is wrong too, I split drops with him before. Read my post right after his.

First words out of my mouth when a full drop happens.

Omg Yay...

Then it's, Do you want to split this?

Targic can attest to this because it happened to us before, but he wouldn't, bitterness factor is there.

Can you imagine going to raids, someone getting something nice in their inventory, and say this is mine cause i got it. That doesn't fly at raids, why should it fly in parties.

Anyway i'm done with this post. Thank you for letting me know everyones opinion, both positive and negative, it really helped allot. Thank you again. ^.^

I don't expect other people to do the same. It isn't an obligation to do so. It should never be an obligation to do the right thing. I never expect to have other people share their full drops with me, even tho I always share with them.

I really like this phrasing, so now it's appearing twice in the thread ;)
The times I've been asked, I've always answered, thank you, it's your drop, it's not necessary to give me any.

But it was *really* nice when Luke split his drop ^^

My point was making frankee the toon illegitimate. My point was sher prolly knew he was shady or w/e. I don't know anything about either one of them. She chose to party with him though. Thanks for the twist and the stab luke, anyone seen rg raiding today?

+++ reading comprehension

No wonder Vic asked you if you have a problem with English. In one thread you explain that you aren't stealing Vic's loot because it was on the ground too long. Now I point out that we can combine the two situations to show how equally absurd both calls are. Your "game mechanics" don't work. You have to fall back on organization beyond the level the game itself provides. Hell why on earth would people use teamspeak or clan forums etc etc? Because the system itself needs more...it requires leadership (a thing lacking around a bunch of introverts that play L2 24/7), organization, standards, and understanding. A slew of qualities the game does not provide that are necessary for success.

I can pickup your loot, as you did to Vic stating "hahaha russian hahaha" (wait that may have been Fathips..not sure but still your clannie/ally/partymate at the time). Then you say this is acceptable cause hey, game mechanics allow it. I guarantee if the drop was WORTH more, you would treat it differently. Which SHOWS that you do treat full drops differently. You would state it belongs to your party, which I would agree. But do you see the double standard? Your behavior is inconsistent. Weeks ago looting Vic's money was ok. Today the drop belongs to your party, and then you make the arguement that all drops get distributed by game mechanics randomly and this is "fair." Do I have to connect the dots for you? The game mechanics are BROKEN to balance this sort of situation. You have to rely on others to help EACHOTHER. That's why you split full drops.

I am entertained that you continue to demonstrate a point of view that shifts to your benefit from thread to thread. Virtue does not work this way. You know **** well drops don't JUST belong to the person that the GAME allows to pick them up. So the arguement that the drop belongs to the party member that gets it...frankly that ought to be the substandard because IT differs from how you would treat anyone else recieving the drop. You would not rely on game mechanics...you rely on fair play.

Now I know you're gettin all excited to respond, but lets recap so I dont end up having to post AGAIN the same statement which you can't seem to get around.

You want the game to determine who gets the drop because random is random and is "part of the game."
You state you can take drops after 15 seconds because "that's how the game works."
You would consider it stealing if somebody ganked your full drop from your pt.
So the minor drops you stole were not wrong to take, but the full drop is...that's two different standards for different value drops.
That shows you should probably be treating them differently in party.

K now think this one over so I don't have to remind you what you've said in the past to contradict yourself. Or perhaps your virtues change from minute to minute to benefit whatever serves you best...
I would only split the drop in a duo. Full parties...heh...I'd keep the entire drop, sorry. I don't expect people to share, and I do not share myself. So whatever. All this OMG SHARE DROPZ PLZ crap is pathetic. People lose money in groups, a full drop helps remedy this. If I was in a group in a cata/necro, and let's say a Nightmare Helmet dropped and I got it; I would not sell it and give everyone 1/6th of the profit or w/e. I'd work on completing the set (same for any A helmet to me actually).

Folks, the only time to split drops is in a duo or maybe a trio. Otherwise, shut up and let people enjoy their item.

This kind of crap makes me not wanna end my L2 break -.-
And things like this are why I only hunt with my Clan Mates. We made a gentlemens agreement that any drop or spoil with a value totalling more than 1m per party member is to be sold and split. Of course..if it was somthing like a DC Helmet, we'd have to conversate amonst ourselves before selling it, to decide if we give it to clan for the next person on the helmet list needing it or not.

Exactly. Crafting my own SS, I've always found the adena breaks even in parties, the drops are extra. I find it funny our friendly perma-noob carebear-pride thinks full drops balance adena loss by keeping it to one's self. It is irrelevant whether drops are split or kept to yourself for adena reasons. If you keep full drops, you gain a smaller chance of gaining larger amounts. If you split, you gain a larger chance of getting a smaller amount. In the end, splitting drops ensures every member an equal share. If your full drop is a NM helm, and the guy next to you gets DC gloves, this balances out the enormous gap in what the two of you have earned. Splitting drops statistically enhances the ability to EVENLY earn adena in parties. It is a more steady/reliable income source than keeping drops to yourself.

I am still amazed how most of you can't see how sharing enhances your play. At this rate, why don't we start doing possession of looter?

At this rate, why don't we start doing possession of looter?

The game gives that option, and using it isn't considered a form of cheating.

However, it's unlikely anyone would party with you. Hmm... :o

My 2box does, and that's why its set that way. We also run the same party type during raids. There are reasons for certain game elements being introduced. It does not mean they are the rule just because they exist. For instance, I can attack anyone I want outside town by holding control. This does not mean attacking everyone I meet outside town is a good thing.
seriously luke, not everyone plays like you in your own perfect little world. If everything was based on whats 'fair' I would earn money for rezzing people, since a 100% scroll rez costs around 650k now, asking 500k for a 85% would be 'frair' right?

I can't remember the last time my group shared a drop, and I think its perfectly normal, because thats how I always play this game. Why do people say gratz to someone who has a nice drop? Not because you know you'll get a part of it too, might as well say gratz to yourself...

stop pushing your own ideals to other people and let people play the game how they want it.

Back in the day...

When JohnKerby was one of the few active high lvl rezzers we'd easily pay port fees and a tip for a rez. And L2 is a dream world. It doesnt exist. It could be perfect if you pushed people to do so. My parties don't say woot gratz on your drop. We say, OMG we got a full drop and the whole party gets excited :)

Then again I've been playing with Domi for....almost 2 yrs so I guess the lvl of friendship is a bit different.
Well, I can't com, plain about never getting full drops any more. I just got my first full weapon drop, and A grade no less. I knew soloing would payoff one of these days, just didnt think it would take 74 levels, lol. And btw, it was a halberd from a normal 1x hp mob... I was so shocked and stunned, it stood there on the gorund for probably 10 minutes before i saw it and picked it up. Hell, I fully buffed and recharged mana to 100% before i killed about 6 more mobs and turned around and it was back where I had cleared like 10 minutes before. Funniest thing I have ever done in L2 and the most profitable, :).

BTW WTS Halberd
thats were my halbred went **** i knew i should of bsoe when i was red >< can i have it back :) ;)

Oh quit braggin Im not in the mood after thegenera1 got paid .5 M to fail another craft!
I guarantee it isn't that people don't like Luke... OMG OMG I <3 LUKE!!! I can honestly say that if Luke is your friend he will ALWAYS be there for you if you need him. I have known him since I started playing L2 and he always has my back and I will always have his. This is just a game but I think that a persons true colors also shine through in the way they play and interact with others. So, the people that room steal and ks and all that stuff are prolly really jerks in real life also lol. Anyway as for the full drops... I don't expect anyone to share a drop that they get in party (at a raid yes) I have been in parties where there was a full drop and we just say GRATS because I don't expect anyone to share. I feel if they get the drop they have the right to keep it. But... it is really nice if people share also. Tavarath was in a party with a bunch of UE members and got a full drop, we all said grats to him and actually I never thought about it again. A couple days later he pms me and says that he sold the drop he had gotten in the party and wanted to give UE the money from it. Very Very sweet of Tav but I will tell him to keep the adena. Just goes to show that everyone is different... it doesn't mean that either way is right or wrong. If I were to get a full drop I would offer to split it but that is just me. I don't expect people to do that and it doesn't bother me if they don't offer.

It could be perfect if you pushed people to do so.

Whatever you say comrad Stalin

No, wait, that wasn't the best.

I look at rezzing as networking. The more people you rez, the more want a good healer in their group. I know one doesn't mean the other, but it still happens.

At times I have charged my clannies for rezzing, my port costs. ON a bad day, you can port a lot as a bishop.

And things like this are why I only hunt with my Clan Mates. We made a gentlemens agreement that any drop or spoil with a value totalling more than 1m per party member is to be sold and split. Look for those names in one of the Oblivion clans, and kick his whining *** out.
well he has a point, frankee is a *******.
couldnt put it any better Oranj

kick his whining *** out.

Player: "This player has stolen from me. He took what is not his with no concern for the fact that he lied, decieved, and committed theft.
Hindemith: "Stop whining."

PS - You just got sarge'd.
My brother is cool. It's hilarious. Seems to me that the only people that "get it" are Luke and I guess Oranj. It is hilarious though. Seriously. So it's o.k. to scam people according to this server. Sweet.

Want to borrow an A grade weapon. Just borrow. PM me in game. Kaemon. Thanks. :D I'll give it back I promise.
Kidnapper: You know I've got some candy in my van if your kid wants some.
Lady: Oh great! (She's about to hand kid to kidnapper...) Huh! Wait a second!
Kidnapper: Aww, you got me! You got me! Oh...
I'll get him though, I'll get him.
Lady: I bet you will! I bet you will...

Mmmmh... I'd tend to think it's fair indeed to share, actually, I'd even like to do so. But I don't... coz as you pointed out, some people are lucky, and others aren't. I've got two full drops (not nongrade, that is, like everybody, I've got dozens of these starter rings and stuff) since I've started playing L2: blue buckskin boots (weeeeh, great) while soloing, and a divine tunic, in a party with clan members. Well I didn't share. I must suck, dunno, but I don't manage with money, I even make that as a joke to fool around in clan chat, well, whatever, I was so happy to get that stupid tunic, I sold it, and didn't share the money. I still wouldn't share the money. I thought about it, and, frankly, what came into my mind was not: mmh, why not? it was: hell, no way. I know it's selfish, I know I'd feel better if I shared, but heck, I'm lvl56, I have 2.7m adenas and a borrowed Cgrade weapon. I know I sound like a selfish bastard, but you can't expect me to share the one real full drop I've had since I've started L2. It would be another pair of blue buckskin boots or a majestic helmet, it would be the same ( save that if I got the maj helmet, my situation would change from awful to miraculous, and my state of mind would probably change too :p )

PS - You just got sarge'd.

If I was still playing L2, I might care.

I just think it's hilarious and pitiful just how much you people whine and carry on. Luke attempting to push his "honorable" play crap on everyone all day, everyday. At the same time, always finding a way to comment on how unimportant this game is to him because he's got to go out jogging, go to the gym, or pretending that he's some badass hockey player that knocks people out. I tend to believe that when someone feels so self-conscious that they need to constantly try to brag and make themselves look better than everyone else, it is usually because they are the exact opposite and their brave talk is mostly half-truths or complete BS.

The whining about scamming/PKing/griefing is the funniest thing to read here though...

WAAAAH... I just handed some guy I've never seen a virtual weapon that cost me 30 mil (or, whatever you paid IGE) and now he logged off and won't give it back.

WAAAAH... I didn't pay attention to what I was buying and just handed someone I don't know all my money for crap I don't need.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Quit whining about it on boards and PK the guy into Oblivion if it's so important. You people have been talking about Frankee and this so-called scam for almost a year... how sad.
I really dont care about whats going on here but if you dont like the game(because suppostly quitted) or the whinning, why post about it and waste your preccious time on it??(double standards, I see)

If I was still playing L2, I might care.

If you dont care, dont post here and move on to do whatever you do IRL then lol.

You just got sarge'd

http://rvb.roosterteeth.com/archive/episode.php?id=194

On the serious side of things, I find it funny none of you will simply say "I'm proud of the scammer. He found somebody naive and abused them. Wish I could do the same." Afterall, that's what you really mean. I also find that lack of morality pathetic.
As amusing as the rest of that post was, Spitner...quoted for some serious irony:

I tend to believe that when someone feels so self-conscious that they need to constantly try to brag and make themselves look better than everyone else, it is usually because they are the exact opposite and their brave talk is mostly half-truths or complete BS.

I didn't say that I quit. I said that I wasn't playing. As boring as the grind gets, as pathetic as the politics tend to be, and despite all of the whining in this game... it's hard to break away completely. I'm sure I'll get talked into logging in at some point. For now, I'm enjoying another game where I'm playing an oversized "toaster" with a great big spear and an attitude.

As amusing as the rest of that post was, Spitner...quoted for some serious irony

I suppose that's directed at me... Neither did I brag, nor did I say that I was better than anyone. I simply stated that the whining is getting old. I guess I feel this way because I've never been scammed, never lost an in-game lover, never had my forum posts copied and pasted here, never been omgPKd and felt the need to cry, and haven't botted or felt the need to try and point out someone that did.

It's a game. If you play it legitimately, then there's no reason to whine or cry about lost gear. If you're playing the game for fun, then you'll just earn your way back to having that good gear again. Or, I guess you could beg for it on the forums. Or... you could just do what the majority of the people in MMORPGs do, whether they admit it or not.

yeah, right. No [censored]
Ivy, you know and every other bishop and elven elder I've ever had rez me knows my policy about rezzing - and it won't change.

If I am going to interupt someone (especially someone I do not group regularly - in Ivy's case - he's too high, and Divine has a better prophet <3 my dear hero elephant <3) then it is just common courtesy to offer them a small fee at least to cover ports. About half of the time people decline, and others accept - I guess it just depends on how their day and finances are going, and how close I am to that person.

Even 100k goes a long way :), though if people want more generally I won't turn them down, most are more than happy with just port costs though.

If anyone here would like me to add them to my list of people I check who are online when I bite the dust please post and I will ^^, paying a fee for you to come rez my butt is more than acceptable.
Its a game. I repeat......its a game. In case you missed the point here it is one more time.......ITS A FRIEKEN GAME!

Yeah good stuff. i wonder what happened to all the long winded people.

BTW, I still share full drops in party as best i can. and if im partying with someone and they don't. oh well. im not diggin in someone elses pocket.

Yeah.

I predict a lot more "I got hacked" posts when server transfers become available.
Frankee is a great leader, like me and everyone else in this game and in the world, he ain't perfect and did mistakes.

You all are just jealous you cant have anyone remotly close to him to lead the coalition and put it even slightly back on track.

Silith whoever you are, you have seriously no life to search forums for old post like this, might as well bump mines while your at it, I miss the drama.

get in game and do something instead.
Frankee scam sops from me :(
Frankee has a good sense of humour. :)
I am definitely jealous that I dont have frankee...not.
get in vent come in clan for 1 day and u ll be jelous ^^
Salute to Frankee who pulled the RD ally back together and actually leads versus flinty who was content to let it all fall as long as he can go xp somewhere.

Of course big props to kakadoo and fatlips who started fights just to be able to pvp someone. Looks like they can now have pvp any time they login.

Quick poll - what will kakadoo and fatlips do after ct1 comes and they can't get that 4% back in 1 pull?
a) quit
b) reroll/transfer to teon
c) deleveled to 10 in 1 week or less
Flint was not a bad leader and was not how u describe him. You also dont know how much he does for the ally atm. About the pull I ll chose option 1.
does medina even play this game still? and for the love of god let this post die, its boring
Medina fix your poll. Not only kadoo and fathips. Make it IN and Divine Leaders.
lol, or add in d) keep playing as usual, since that will likely be the case.

I see here different posts and I am quite amazed. I play on official for 2 years and I went to many parties and we got full drops also (including raids we made in C4) but NEVER and NOBODY split anything. And I belive this is the fair as it was his/her luck. For that reason if we don't have an agreement when we start the party who is lucky enough and gets a full drop, keeps it. Stop whinning and ask for "ur share". If was ur friend who picked up the drop better be happy for him and not post on forum how greedy he is because he didn't think of sharing it with u. True friends don't act like this.

Let me just clarify, this was a very long time ago. Everyone was splitting BIG drops. Since there was only 3 live people in the party, it would of been a nice chunk, if you know what I mean.

Anyway I really learned allot from everyones ideas from this post. It was really helpfull.

Thanks everyone. :)
