So what would you do?

Inspired by a recent comment someone made about shunning adena-buyers, I thought this would make an interesting topic for discussion. I'm not expecting entirely truthful answers, but I thought I'd pose a little dilemma to everyone:

Would you turn in a good friend if you caught him buying adena?

If you would: How do you justify putting a game before your friendship?

If you wouldn't: Is it ok when a stranger does it? What do you think of all those bots?

...and it should go without saying, but this is hypothetical here.

No. If it was a good friend I would talk to him about it but in the end the friendship is more important. I don't like telling people how to live their lives though

Otherwise, there are many more things (that really matter) that you could chastise him/her about:

smoking, excessive drinking, speeding, people they date, list goes on.

If he gets caught he gets caught (or she) since he/she knew the risks.
I wouldn't turn in my friend, but I would certainly give them a look. It would also depend on how much they bought-- if they spent something small like $25 I really wouldn't mind.
Sadly I had this happend to me in my WoW days. The answer I have is a little complicated but then again, it always is...

Would I turn them in: no, not for this. But I did loose all my respect for this person . This was'nt just an "Online friend". This is someone I knew in RL for years. All he though was that is was equivilent exchange and that he was getting the better bargain of it.
In the end I stop playing whit him...

You'l respond your own way , if and when it happends
(and honestly, what kind of IDIOT E-BAYS on WoW!!!!)
I choose not to ebay.

But it is only a game, and each person plays their $15 per month to play..

If they want to make that more per month, and they understand the risks of losing their accounts, that is their choice.
dude who intrduced me to lineage botted and ebayed heavily

got no idea how i turned so anti-ebay but it took until about lvl 30 to realize how much ebayers and botters suck

and no i would never report him
whatever happened to mmorg companies actively seeking bad players?
seems to me most of us work harder to get bad players banned than anyone at ncsoft
Yes I would, and yes I have.

There is no excuse for it. Period.

End of story.
No point reporting because people don't get banned for ebaying anyway.

I did feel very uncomfortable in that situation and wound up parting ways with them - it reflects on a person how the behave in a game.
Id threaten him and say give me half of everything you got else im turnin ya in.
Of course i wouldnt, i have friends who e-bayed, thats their game up to them, im not a snitch. But in the end who has more fun, those who earn it or those who click a button and buy it.
From experience I can say... no I wouldn't.

But I got kind of mad at that person, even more as he tried to conceal the real origin of his wealth. Ebaying is one thing, lieing to your friends is another.

The GMs will (unfortunately) not ban ebaying players, so why even bother to report them?

Cal
none of my friend ebay.. for sure because i give them what they need.
I am not aware of any friends that bot. I do know a couple that have pretty much admitted to buying adena. The problem is that a "confession" is hardly proof. I don't know why someone would lie about that but there's really no proof. I no longer associate with those people, though.
