Hi all - So I have a lvl 20 knight and have saved up a whopping 500,000 Adena (transferred all the money from my other lvl 20 and some lovely stranger on Lionna gave me a million adena when I first started). I want to buy some D grade gear and I was looking for some suggestions like the best town to buy and what armor I should be looking for. I went to Dion yesterday but all I saw was the brigandine pants and shield. I was hoping to get maybe the artisan sword and maybe one piece of heavy armor. Please - any suggestions are much appreciated.

got good ng gear. So I should probably check giran eh? Ok cool - and is it true that for D I should definatley not buy from NPC? Not that there's much selection there anyways but i'm just curious. Anyone got suggestions on a one handed D grade sword i should be looking for?

What weapon does your DE Wizard have? Join the side (Dawn/Dusk) that usually wins on your server, and exchange the weapon for the equivalent sword at Mammon. That will make it easier to equip the knight in D grade.
Ahh thanks MissWinona - I do remember reading about the blacksmiths of mammon that will exchange your equipment if your side wins. They are in the catacombs right? And my Wizard does have a D staff so I could just exchange it for a sword. I ended up buying the Mythril set for about 350,000 at the giran npc shop and the hoplard(sp?) shield for about a 100,000. **** this whole set up your own shop aspect of this game is crazy though. What a mess. Has anyone played FFXI? If only there was an auction system like that in this game. Ahh well - everygame has it's plus and minus. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my noobile post.
Keep Bronze set for now, sell your wiz's D grade and get the best weapon you can afford. Its easy to get the 400K to get Mithril set once you have a good sword. Keep hunting greens, working seeds and doing quests.
Dont try to outfit two toons until you have enough cash to get NG, DG and CG for both toons.
