Dark crystal ( +4% amout of heal, -50% paralysis, -2str +2con, and +18% shield def)
or Nightmare ( +4% patk, sleep/hold -70% of probability, -2dex +2con, 5% reflect dmg with shield)
As far as i can see, nightmare is pvp oriented (more dmg, resist hold/sleep + reflect dmg) , and Dark Crystal for pve ? Am i right ? And nightmare cost alot of money...Both helmet still have insane price tho

DC or nothing. NM drops your dex, which is vital for shield skills and actually being able to hit stuff. If price is a problem, keep your Doom Plate.
Yes, more tanks would agree that NM is more pvp oriented then DC is mostly because of the ammount of mages out there trying to sleep you. However alot of the tanks that I've talked to also seem to like NM for pve more due to the higher patk and reflect damage. For SK's and TK's with their higher shield defence rate and passives NM is actually the better set for both pvp/pve since they don't really need that extra 18% block rate. Don't know about DA's or Pali's since I don't know too many and since none of the human tanks in my clan are to a-grade yet.
All the tanks I know that have tried NM and DC like NM alot better. They love the pdef, sleep resist and root resist. Most pvps Tanks are rooted and left alone when not in NM. Go NM if you can afford it.

Yea...funny thing is i can buy a full DC set (up/lower/glove/boots/shield/without helmet) for not even the price of the NM body lol
And yes, i guess beeing rooted or sleep can be realy annoying in pvp :s
Well I would keep Doom until you can afford NM to be honest. As for the cost difference, maybe you see reason for it. NM harder to get and more in demand. It also looks alot better if your into that kind of thing.
There is an 3 P.def difference between an +3 Doom set vs DC set so.
So if you truly want my opinion skip DC you don't gain anything by geting it, DC you will get some P.def increse, ofcrse you can aim for an +3 DC set but yeah you won't notice an extream P.def difference more like 20-30 P.def not worth the cost.
Everyone is ragging on DC, but if you're not huge into pvp then DC is a great set. As a healer (when I play mine) I love it when tanks have DC. With DC, you can tank stuff that you wouldn't be able to tank otherwise. Situations that would be fatal become do-able. I can tell a huge difference between a tank who's wearing DC and a tank who's not. I can't say that about any other set.
If you don't pvp a whole lot, I would say go DC for grinding. You can keep a B grade set for pvp. Tanks don't do loads of damage anyway, so the fact that the healers don't have to spend as much mp healing you and the fact that you can tank more and harder mobs will help the group xp.
Nightmare heavy on human males is the epitome of sexyness ^_^
FIRE TRUCK!!!!!
VROOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
I like nm better, but my tanks r usually high lvl tanks tanking area's that r green, white and yellow to em.. DC if u wanna try real high lvl area's, NM if u like PvP, whatever looks **** if u don't care about those.
quite honestly I don't feel NM is worth its cost in adena. If you get lucky and get a NM helm somehow I would go for it but really its robbery. The root resistance is great but seriously how often does that happen? If anything the enemy should be rooting DDs in PvP so they can get picked off easier. I think sleep isn't an issue in mass PvP because group members SHOULD have Waking Scrolls hotbarred and should wake you real fast. However the DC resistance to Paralyze is extremely noticable, which is helpful in PvE and PvP even to an extent if you got Warlocks and Necros paralyzing you. Also just because your shield masteries and buffs combined equal out to more than 100% block rate it does not mean you block every time, the extra block rate helps no matter what class you are. Pretty much it comes out to, how much adena are you willing to spend? If the answer is A LOT, then go NM.
