On your in-game map, there are two paths leading to the Wastelands from the north. Use the westernmost one. Just as you enter the wastelands, turn to the left. Aggros here, so be careful. Go along the northern wall of the Wasteland until another canyon opens, leading north. The Sylph is up this canyon a little bit, in a large grassy area.
