Where do you go when you die..

As serious as the subject might sound, I'm strictly taking in game.

I'm a dark elf, I ran ALL the way to the elven village. I then literally died on the steps of the elven village. Where did I respawn at, none other than the DARK ELVEN village.
OMG *pulls hair out*

I thought when you die and click return to village, it returns you to the nearst place.

kinda but DE's can't spawn in LE village and vice versa.

Lol ya I learned that the hard way was fishing in LE village on my fishing alt (lowbie) died and dropped my dagger (sword breaker). Hit return to town and boom DE village, used GK back to LE village and dagger was gone lol. What a newb<---- myself

its just DE can't return to elven village and LE can't return to DE village. Other than that I don't think their are any other limitations. I know, NC Soft is ******ed and I think they only started doing this in C3 or C2 or something.

Ya those 2 villages are the only newb towns like that. All others there are no problems.

The problem is that the makers assume that the players know that Light Elves and Dark Elve are enemies.

It's an attempt to apply lore to the player mechanics.

What should happen in these instances is that an additional message should be included to the "return to town" button.

"Due to the current relations between the Light and the Dark Elves, you will be taken to your home village".

Or something like that.

But as a Dark Elf or Light Elf you should know.

You would be aware of the political situation since it is part of your history.

That is sort of the problem with these games. There is lore but it's like the game was made with it in mind and then it is posted somewhere on a website for those who want to find it.

Talk to the NPCs in your home village and you WILL know about your "political relations". ;)

But it's really kind of annyoing that LE party members can't go to DE town lke the rest of the party after hunting in the catacombs in DE land.
