Fighter class question

Hi all, I just came back to L2, couldn't keep away :) . Anyway, I currently have a Human knight. He's a great tank but sorta low end on the damage output. I end up soloing fequently as I work different hours and have kids. I was wondering what class makes a more rounded tank.
Maybe a fighter class that is little less on the tank side and more on the damage output.
Since I am just returning, I'm think of starting fresh with a new character.
Any suggestions???
Unfortunately, fighter classes are not efficient soloers, especially in higher levels. However, I think a gladiator would be your best bet for a damage dealing "tank" (gladiators cant hate).
a solo-tank would be Dark Avanger for example, and a pure tank would be Paladin, anyway it's hard to solo in higher lvl

greetings :)
Try a Destroyer. I can solo just fine in a catacomb and usually see many other destroyers soloing in various areas.

Also my clanie a Shilin Knight solo's often and he's 65
Shillien Knight is the tank class who has the best damage output of the actual tank classes. However, SK is a bit of a paper tank. They get cubics and hex to help them kill.
If you solo a lot, I would advice against playing a true tank. The Destroyer or Gladiator deal out good damage while still having good defence skills. The Destroyer also has the benefit of having the most hp of them all. These two can solo pretty well with less downtime as you will see with the real tanks.
I know you wrote this about tanks/fighters. I am in the same situation as you. The times I play clannies are usually not on and have limiteds time to play with family/work and all. I have played a glad and a nuker. It is much much easier to play a nuker and lvl efficiently with limited amount of play time. I enjoyed playing my glad but it was far more costly to play and took 2x as long to lvl solo.
What you want is a meat shield (tank and DD merged as one), orc/dwarf/human warrior are what ya need.
