I recently rolled Dark Mystic going SE someday in the future. What I planned is to deck her in light armor, give her duals and make her fight along the group.
Is it effective at all? I don't have full 9 man groups often so mana would probably be enough to buff 4-5 people, what about heals though?
Will I be doomed to secondary healer role?
Or will I have to stick to robes to buff/heal and fight without much difficulty?
As an SO or even a de mystic, I would solo to 25 or 30, then start grouping. Go robes and high matck weapon for nuking. Windstrike is good for AC and PH near dion. Have Fun!!
I 2 box and 2nd is a healer, I equip my healer with mage gear and find that if my patk (on healer) is lower than that of my tank the mob will atk the one with the higher atk value. Make sure that tank initiates combat and if matk is high mob might switch to you but once in melee will switch to one with higher patk.GL and have fun.
great answers and all but... not to my questions >.>
Let me rephrase
Can SO/SE in light armor and with dual swords effectively play as main buffer/healer in small party?
What he's asking is whether or not he's going to have enough mana and the regen will be good enough for him to buff, heal and fight.
I have an SE but I can't answer that. I have her in robes with duals. I believe you may have a problem with mana regen not being quite good enough if you have more than just a couple of party members. Again, I have not done the light armor route, I'm just basing this on what I see in robes with my SE fighting in a 3 person party.
At 60+, in BW light SE can buff+heal a party of four melees that can go nonstop at WoA. Or duo with a melee DD at DV and has enough mp to buff+heal nonstop too.
Light+duals works in small parties, and when fighting 1xhp mobs and the likes. Especially if you spam SS ^^
Clanny uses light more, puts on robes only for big parties and so far has had enough mp in ToI, WoA, VoS, DV and necro/catas.
Can SO/SE in light armor and with dual swords effectively play as main buffer/healer in small party?
I do it, from time to time, though I find I am just as effective, if not more, in my robes. I just can't stand up to much damage.
I often look like an Avadon Robed BD.
I am often the only healer on in the early PST morning hours, so I get dragged all over Aden and Elmore by my alliance. I'm not just the primary healer, I am the -only- healer.
when ya hit b grade grab BW light/BW robes and focus or HP duals. If you like pvp at all you can try what i did and kill some people with the light and duals set up. It actually wasnt bad at all!
Hope root lands on mages or other healers and go to town on them with our melee friends or alone! (not saying I owned or anything but Its way more fun then *heal heal heal * (so and so hit you for 2k dmg) Dead..)
From my experience:
Healer - yes. Depends on levels and party. I managed to keep alive party in GC when I was 30-40. Not full party though. Most buffs were provided by warcryer.
Buffer - yes. But again it depends on what party you have, fighter parties are hard to buff.
But usually not both ... well, considering I was leveling with toons 15- 20 levels above me my experience may be a bit inaccurate.
I have not tested 4-5 people. What I can tell you from personal experience is that Light gave my buffer enough MP to keep a trio, consisting of him and 2 non-SH nukers, fully buffed and recharged for hours without pause.
i have played my healer in light armor for a very long time (since D grade) and i have tried it with robes on occasion as well. while robes are better for situations when you might need to spam heals (like a raid), the light armor seems to work just fine. at higher levels you can get tallum leather armor which has a built in mp regen bonus and you should never have any mana problems ever again.
I didn't have a large enough mana pool, so after buffing (whether I'm the only buffer or supplementing a WC) I was seated a lot during fighting. If the party can sustain itself fully on VR, you can do both. If not, you won't be able to melee.
