Fanart is just like any other way of art, the good ones are always made by good artists ^^;
Try this as Lineage fanart is Manga based; atleast some :p
Then use Conceptart, ingame screenshots as a refrence to what you whant. Hope it helps!
I tried the Color tutorial and this is what i got out of it so with a litle practice it will come out fine i think.

Head is about 5 eyes wide,half of the face is the eyes,half of that is the nose, and half of that again is the mouth. And the ends of the lips should end in the center of the eyes. Find pics in magazines and draw the guides, it'll make more sense :P
but your best source are real life pics, my art teacher told me the best sorce are Playboys :p But dont use that as an excuse to be a pervert.....

Have to agree. perhaps not on the playboy mag. but genaraly all the fashion magazines.
For example find a person that is in a pose you like and then draw of it.
Start with the basic lines.
I cant point out more strongly that the best way to learn is to keep drawing, learn by doing.
Today somebody wounded me at my arm, so i must do everything with my left hand.
But i'm right handed, so can't draw :S

Got this picture in my head; with your right arm in a casket and your hudeling over your desk. constanly breaking new pens with you left hand. trying to draw.
