Constant Scamming

I saw one other thread about an incident that took place but I think it is worth posting again. I havent played LineageII for too long (about 2-3 months now) and around mid D grade I was scammed into giving somebody my ELS. I don't even call it a scam anymore. It was more of a case of ignorance on my part and being to trustful of other players.

BUT, my main point of this thread is to WARN new players and veterans alike. Although the majority of the Lineage population is smart enough not to hand their weapon over to somebody else, the most common scam going now has nothing to do with being smart. It has to do with being attentive. I have counted at LEAST 5 times now in the past 2 weeks somebody has messaged my friend asking him to hand somebody his Homu. What they do is create an account that has a name similar to a fellow clan member. For example, if you have a clan member named "Chocolate", they might go create a user named "Chocalate" or "Ch0colate", or something VERY close (you get the idea). As you can see, at a glance, it can be very convincing. When it first happened my friend got a good laugh out of it because I was actually talking to him on the phone at the same time somebody with a similar name asked for the sword. I thought to myself "that scam will never work, you can just look at the user and see he isnt in your clan". But what they do is message you from another town (with the similar clan member name) and have another character standing in front of you and tell you to hand them the weapon. I actually know a guy that lost a set of +16 (red glow) dual Spirit swords with this scam :(

I know it probably won't help to try and keep track of names of the scammers since I am sure they change the names around quite often. But one name that they have tried to use twice on my friend is SPEETY. He messaged my friend and told him to hand his weapon to SPEETY so he could see it for a second.

Again, I know a lot of people (the majority) are aware of this scam and are very careful but I figured it may be worth reminding and informing of it anyways so please don't flame me for posting. Sorry for the long post. Cheers!
This scam is as old as time, and just as sad that is still allowed.
The scammer can get away clean, with no harm to thier main, and no chance to get any revenge taken upon them.

This has been tried on both my girlfriend (Ravensoyrth) and my girlfriends fake character (Jessimlka) tried on me.
We both laughed, seeing how we sit right next to each other.

The saddest thing is, if people didnt fall for their dumb tricks, they woulnt keep trying.

The warning signs?
1. A "friend" is asking for you weapon? WHY?
2. Your "friend" wants YOU to but your weapon on ANOTHER player.
3. Your "friend" suddenly lost his ability to speak in complete sentances and his ability to use proper grammer.
4. (best of all) your "friend" has a different name then he used to.

Just, for god sakes, remember. Dont trade something, unless you OK with losing it forever.
