What is the best A grade robe set for an Overlord. I play the support / buff / debuff role in the clan and in the hunts. I would also like opinions on the PvP armor for an Overlord too, but that is for future reference since the costs are so extreme at this level :)
Right now I am leaning towards the Dark Crystal Robe Set for the Overlord...
I am only at 54, I am not even close.
I am trying to understand what I need and then set up my future clan hunts and parties to try and get there from here.
I also like to understand what it is I am working for so I can play the overlord better when I get there.
Hehe, I don't even know the weapon yet for this puppy, but at least I can grind for the mats on the armor.
Party XP almost all the time now with solo on the off hours. Very little PvP at this point since they have to flag me before anything works or lands.
I am a speed build right now, with the tats on it for that (+str + dex).
I am using an overenchanted blunt w/ battle haste on it but I am looking to trade this for a blunt w/ health on it soon. The battle haste just isn't that much faster on this blunt.
I am much more of a support overlord but I do want to be a large help in raids and someday, a castle...
Most of the OL's I know use +4 or higher tsu*sls Duals or Dagger w/Focus and a shield while xping now. If you are mainly party xping then I would suggest Majestic robes. You will get the cast speed bonus to get off heals and buffers quicker, stun resist and mp regen.
Our OL has kind of changed roles as he has leveled up.
His main roles now are alliance buffer for raids/sieges/PvP's, and root/silence/debuff/lifedrain/CPHeal once the PvP has started.
Because of that role, he has a high Matk weapon w/ ManaUp and wears Avadon, but is going for DC Robes for A grade.
OL's can play the largest variety of roles of any class, so I'd say base your gear off of the role you play.
IMO unless your clan/alliance has several OL's you're going to be relied on for your alliance buffs primarily, and then after that you will be a debuffer/crowdcontroller.
Oh yeah.. and our OL.. he loves to kill archers. SoulGuard + LifeDrain FTW.
I really can't imagine letting all of your skills go to waste by using a weapon to actually hit things... especially with that nasty nasty set of debuffs you have. Properly used, an OL can mean the difference between a W or L.
