I have what for me is a 'new' noob question

Everyone tells me to wait to lvl 40 or beyond to begin warsmith quest...one reason given was to have "c-grade gear".
I have a couple of questions about that:
I currently have top D glaive (+7). Since glaive has patk of 92 I'm assuming this provides patk of 99.
I've learned that all gear upgrades starts with weapon in this game--so let's start there.
Let's say I choose to stay with polearm. I can probably afford either lowest lvl C-grade poles. They list with patk of 107 (orc glaive, scythe, body slasher).
Is my toon even going to notice the difference 99 up to 107?
Should I aim higher in the c-grade?
The next reasonable C-grade is the Bec de Corbin with patk of 122 which is a full 30% I would think over my glaive....but it's gotta run 4 million or better unenchanted and I won't afford that for weeks!
As for armor--I now have full +3 brig set, full +3 elven jewelry set.
Again, Dwarven Chain is within my budget (although i don't know yet if it can be a 'set') but only if I don't upgrade the weapon.
I'll be lvl 40 in a day or so--have first 1/2 of first WS quest done. Goes without saying I'm eager to start....but....others suggest I can't finish with my 'low' current equipment.
Besides value of what I'm wearing--I have prob. 1.5 or 1.6 million adenda on hand and a wh full of stuff.

Advice?
1) keep glaive--buy better armor and get going?
2) upgrade to low C weapon and keep armor?
3) upgrade to high C weapon a month from now (but play naked)?
4) quit looking at stuff u can't afford and get back to grinding for gold? Which would = "wait till u can afford c-gear to do WS quest even if ur lvl 47!"
Personnally, I didn't have much problem to do my Second Class tranfert Quests a soon as they were available. Sure, it could have been faster to do them all at once and with C grade gear, but t least that way I was able to change my class as soon as I got to level 40.

And so you know, an enchant don't work +1 = +1 P.atk. From +1 to +3, each + give +3p.atk (for a sword at least, don't know for a pole), and at +4 it start giving +6 at each + (again for a sword).
The class change quests are a pain - biggest reason to do them all at once imo - is to save money. If you plan them out and do all 3 together you can save a ton in port costs (or a lot of your time in running).

With the gear you have you're not going to have any problem doing the quests - I wouldn't worry about that. But I would do them together as you're going to need as much money as possible to upgrade your gear - although with a +7 galive and brig you could go into your mid 40's before you're goingt to really need more pdef and patk.

Oh and as a pole user the biggest thing for you with a c-grade pole will be to get the Crit. Stun SA. I would hold onto your glaive until you can get an orcish poleaxe (pretty sure your galive at +7 has more patk than poles you mentioned).
You know, I did NOT know that the enchant was non-linear.
I haven't seen that in guide, on other sites, or mentioned in posts I've read here.
So, the "+7 Glaive" has more patk than the 92 base plus the "7". If I'm following you--the patk on my current glaive could be in the range of the middle-C grade poles if they are unenchanted.
Jeez! I keep finding out that I don't have enough information to even know what I'm doing in this game!
Obviously I need to pay more attention to details like that.
Thanks for saying something Es--I honestly did NOT know the enchants were progressive.
em - all you need to do is click on the glaive in your inventory to see it's patk - it will tell you the current enchanted patk.........
Hehe, next time you enchant something, read the description of the scroll, it's all written in it. ;)
WHEN I enchant something I will read the scroll....at level 39 and before dorfies don't do a lot of enchanting. I bought the gear enchanted (IG with my toon I mean :)), found the rest of the elven stuff when an unmentionable type of auto player got pk'ed in front of me, and had clan loan me the rest. I haven't enchanted anything to this point (u kidding? at my level and with my finances if even a lowly bastard sword crumbled I'd be out 900k and broke!!!!).

I made a little mistake here, the number I wrote in the quote were right, but only for C grade.

For D grade it's +2patk at each + before 3 (including Poles) and +4 it's +4patk at each +.

Another note on Enchants, you can Enchant safely to +3, but going to +4 and more there is a risk that you will blow up your weapon/armor.

All my stuff is enchanted to +3, but I don't risk going higher. I tried going to +4 only one time, and I ended up blowing a pair of Duals 107.
Between now and when the "letters" event starts in a day or 2 start a new character and quickly get them to 20.

Give them the gear on your warsmith.

Go hunting Level 18 - 22 mobs in top D on your level 20 character.

Sell the letters...

Hey presto, you have C grade gear of your choice.....
Or, treat this event like I do, Break out a nuker, find a spot, sit and kill for as many hours as your brain can handle(Im good for about 8 hours farming in one spot). I've already set my nuker up for events, top D weapon +10, Knowledge set(may switch back to mith, dont like the lesser MP regen, and dont need the damage boost) and 50k BSPS D. Had to delevel him back down after the pumpkin event, but thats ok, he's just an event toon.

But, as to your actual question about doing quests all together. Most experienced players do it that way because we HAVE the C grade waiting for the character, and we do the quests together to save cash and time, since we're typically powerleveling these characters up to a certain level for a certain purpose. First time I did class change quests, I did them one at a time because it let me see more of the world than I had seen.
