Last night i was trained by a bot watcher!! i couldnt believe my eyes! all me and my clan members did was walk into a room and the bots left. then a random person(not a dwarf, the usual bot leader on hindemith) trained a LOT of criters onto us. we handled most of them but were eventualy overwhelmed. but he curious thing was that the leader toon that was training on us was atacking the creatures to train them on us so we managed to turn the train around onto him. but when he went down from the creatures, he just got back up and ran of as if he didnt die. :eek: i herd the sounds and saw him drop to his knees and every thing...but he just got up and ran away....im so confused :confused:
Yep like ppl said. The skill fake death produces the effects you just witnessed. Character drops to knees, moans and looks as if he is dead. You can still target and attack them in PvP if you SHIFT+CLICK on them. But it tricks mobs into thinking you died.
The best way to handle these creeps is to stun them. Stun, Stun Shot, or HammerCrush will do it. You can't root him unless he flags, which wont happen if he is good.
If you see this jerk approaching, stop hitting your mobs and stand still. The ones trailing him will not attack if you dont either hit a social mob or move. While his Fake Death is working, he is burning MP, and when it is out, he pops up.
Oh, the Fake Death does not always work either. He may just kill himself trying this.
If your party has an EE, you can use PartyReturn if things go bad. I was in a party that was saved this way. I wish I could have seen the reaction of the trainer when only he was left in a room with our mobs and his all standing close by.
Only had this happen twice: Once, I was playing a summoner...better training class, he had a real death right after the fake one. Second time, I was doing AoE with VR...thanked him for the help.
Good luck, odds are this character is high level and can take out anyone that flags on him. If he has fake death and is a dwarf, you can count on that they are at least level 40. Also be sure to know your armor types and what they look like so you have a rough idea who your dealing with. I have seen these protectors decked out in A grade guarding in the mines at dwarf beginner area. But theres nothing else you can do except "deal with it" as people here like to say.
Yup, I killed the farmer that tried to train me last night after I trained them. He came running after me with some of my train, his fake death failed, he got stunned laying dead on the ground, he finally popped up and faked again, this time losing things onto me, my fake death worked and sent it right back(I love FakeDeath wars) killing him. Then his 3 dagger users attacked me while I was flagged, heh. I backed into a corner, whipped out the lance with crit stun, wrath, whirlwind, wildsweep smash smash smash dead farmers. Never fight a BH thats training, Im always prepared to fight it out, your 3rd party programs just aint intelligent enough to stop me.
