critical evasion and chance

is it just me or do others think something effects the ability to evade a crit

i remeber one of my favorite hunting spots was near the hatar henishee's outside of aden
even useing a blunt with no buffs i seemed to crit more there than anywhere else
after a few lvls trying to focus on crit rate it seems its much more common to crit on a green mob than a yellow or red mob

also how does the crit rate work?
if i have 100 crit and someone else has 50 do i have double the crit rate of them?
anyone know a formula or %

for some reason my golem has half my crit rateing but seems to crit at least 2x more
any idea why?
if its a bug i dont wanna know and please dont tell nc
1000 crit rate means 100% crit, the only reason I can think your golem would crit twice as much is maybe attack speed?

More hits means more crits.

I think it is level dependant too however but I know no matter what the game won't let u go over 1000 (not that any classes can get close anyway).
It's certainly also level-based, I'm much more likely to crit on something that is lower level than myself, and the opposite for higher level opponents/mobs...
Some people have suggested evasion does influence crit rate, ie, those with higher evasion are crit on less than those with low evasion. There is some evidence in this; talk to any archer who has the height bonus while defending a castle. Most will say they crit more when on a castle wall than otherwise.

Wont let go over 500 in C4. A high lvl Tyrant tested it, had 492 without warlock buffs, 500 with warlock buffs. And the buffs add more than 8 crit rate so it's capped to 500.
