what exactly you mean for "top (whatever) grade" weapon?
I readed that you can "upgrade" that kind of arms... getting for ex a d grade to a c... this is not enchanting, that gives +1 to the weapon... so what changes? you can upgrade only top grade? there's a way to know if it's a top grade, or just looking at stats?

Top grade weapon = The weapon with the highest p.atk of a garde.
Ex : The Elven Long Sword for D grade and Samurai Long Sword for C grade.
You can D or C weapons to the Blacksmith of Mammon and have it upgrade for a superior one, you pay with Ancient Adena. If the weapon you upgrade is top D, the new weapon you will have will be a low C.
The thing is, usually, top D weapons cost higher than low D, so it's better to just sell it and buy a new one than to upgrade it.
yup tnx ^^ now i got it! so i can bring my bastard sword to mammon and he will give me back the next d grade in order toward the last d grade, isn't it? anyway... seems expensiva and not always convenient...

Uhm, the mattk is 122, crystal count is 1157 ;) on both of those weapons.
You can upgrade Low D-> Top D -> Low C -> Top C(and all the different ones in between) and thats it. You can also change weapons to different weapons of same crystal count, but this only works in D/C-grade too, unless C4 has changed it.
Low= lowest crystal count weapon of that grade
Top= highest crystal count of that grade
First it depends what class you are. top wep for archer/mele/nuker/buffer/healer are all different.
Basically it comes down to what is the best weapon ie...Patk/Matk/SA for your class.
Not everyone in D grade wants or needs an Elven long sword, claymore or whatever wep you use . Heck most people dont even get the top D grade wep. Most people can lvl right through D grade farely easy with a low or mid D grade.
C grade has the most options of all the different D grade weapons. Every class will have thier top(favorite)wep for each grade. Some classes don't need to upgrade weps every grade change.
So look around the forums and find who uses what for your class. More often than not you will get 5 different answers it all depends on how you play or set up your toon.
i see... in fact i'm still fine with my actual sword, and since i'm almost 30, probably i will try to hit 40 with no "expenses" (maybe some +1 scrolls from the L2Day event could be of help :P)
i'm still not sure what job i will do after, but right now i'm palus knight and happy of it :)

I know the exchanges keep the enchantments, but do the SAs carry over as well?
