Twice now in the last 2 days some [censored] has copied my names changing to o to c. I dual box most of the time and this [censored] pmed me while I had both accounts logged in. And today while I was logged in tried it on my clanny with my other character same deal o to c. To top it off they didnt speak english very well. I was like you ****** what do you think your trying to pull? They responded Its me dont you believe me. Both times also they pm me with the fake name and had another character next to me that I was suppose to hand my weapon over to.
All you can do is prepare your clanmates. Tell them what you know, that someone is running a name scam using your name. tell them to askin Clan chat if it's you or not.
What they said. I had some one come up to me possing as a clannie asking to see my weapon. Just so happend my clannie was in Vent. so I asked are you asking to see my weapon, he replyed "no", so I told the guy "Nice to meet you scamer, would you like to step out side for a second?", he left and tried it on other clannies, but they already had the heads up lol nub
One scammer (goent) managed to get two homonkulus swords from one clan in our alliance. Now he harrasses our whole alliance to no end. Aargh. Why can't people have more common sense.

They tried working our clan over as well. Our biggest laugh is when they were trying to scam one of our peeps that is a husband/wife team. The scammers were PMing the Husband using a variation on the wife's toons name. Got a good laugh explaining that to the scammer since she sets right beside him.
Exact same terminology and person to whom we should trade our weapon as the person who impersonated my fiancee.... who is in the same room as me >.>
They changed the L to an I (lower case in game is hard to tell apart) and an A to U. It was Galteo who we should trade it. Seems NC didn't do anything about him even though 8 people reported the 2 player names.
Ventrilo/TS is a must. Know how to contact anyone in your alliance. I've hopped over to other clans ventrilos just to double check. I dont trade anything unless its verbally asked for on vent.
Another thing to do is to erase the PM names whenever you are PM'd, and PM the correct name you are supposedly being PM'd by.
