I think this is the perfect party because only being allowed two nukers they will die really fast anyway so I think it's best to have some good defence.
Edit: These classes or their 76+ counterparts I don't know all the names of these.
Would be ideal. Everyone that can summon brings them out, for 4 full-power and 2 one-shot "extras". Warcrier and Swordsinger can simultaneously buff all 15, so no problems there. The SE is chosen mainly for Empower, but can possibly recharge the WC and SwS if needed for a wider array of buffs (or for the SwS to keep them all up).
Critique away, I'm probably forgetting a key detail.

Well... I don't mean to belittle your analysis, but the key detail is that any 'perfect party' analysis needs to know what the opposing party consists of. Until you see your opponents, you just can't be sure what is perfect.
And for those who will answer, 'You pick the best set-up regardless,' realize that your opponent will choose their set-up to maximize damage against a generic 'perfect party' and hope you arrive with one.
The 'Fog of War' comes to mind here. If you can anticipate your opponents actions/choices, you are in good shape, but if he surprises you, well, then he is in good shape.
This is not something wrong or in need of a fix; it is part of the 'charm' of the event.
I picked this one to maximize damage output while not surrendering surivability, except on the "grab a quick kill and die" spellsingers. Each member was chosen as the within-catagory ideal based on that, rather than to counteract a specific opponent.
This raises the question, though--what would you propose in order to beat the party I mentioned? Nothing sprang to mind as a "trump card" given the limitations imposed by this event.
I say the Bladedancer helps more than the BD in this type of party. They have defensive dances as well and Dance of Concentration/Dance of Mystic. I chose Sorcerer because SE has a buff resisting Wind attacks and Bladedancer has a dance resisting water attacks. Although a Spellhowler can Silence and do dark attacks, I believe the Silence is already applied by the Necromancer and the party could use anyone with Cancel as well.
Motivation:
The SpS and the necro will do the initial bulk of damage, taking out the enemy's damagedealers.
Since there is an OL they will get all the buffs they need (lvl 78 OL)
The Gladi's are there because i have no room for critrate buffs, so the dmg in this group has to come from specials.
The Bladedancer will do both mage and fighter dances, since he only has to keep em up a short time he can manage.
This is a pretty great damage output, but it wont stay alive to long.
Thats where the OL (ally CP heal) and the bishop (cardinal balance life) come in.
buffsheet:
OL buffs: Empower, acumen, berzerk, WW, shield, might, blessshield, magicbarier, accuracy, Deathwhisper
Bishop buffs: Body of Avatar, Prayer
Noblesse buffs: Blessing of Noblesse
5 BD dances

There won't be any lvl 78 Overlords in this competition, I don't think there is any. I like your point although I advise against SPS because BD's will be running Aqua Guard.

This probably wouldn't last very long...but it would sure as hell look cool o.o
8 Destroyers in Maj heavy with Dragon Slayers and SA health.
1 WC
That would be a pure HP wall of orc ***. Every nuker in the world would be shooting at it. Oh well...if it could close the gap people would die. Just imagine the hurt of 8 Destroyers criting you all at the same time.
8 Destroyers in Maj heavy with Dragon Slayers and SA health.
1 WC
doesn't work. there's class req for the competition.
here's my try:
1sk w/ SOM SA slience
1 HE
1 SPS
2 tyrants
1 necro
1 BD
1 WC
1 EE
sk + necro silence all casters. SPS do CC (slow/cancel/sleep). tyrants/HE chase down all soft targets. BD + WC oversee the battle, EE as medic/shield buffer to reduce ranger's dmg against the necro/SPS/WC/EE. all dmg are from fighter classes so no need to worry about resist songs/dance. if necro/sps/HE/WC survives, there's no need to worry about melee classes. i think i'm lacking MA4 though, since i'm not that familiar with EE/WC's skill set.
Were buff scrolls and the likes allowed? >.>
1x DA(kitty+entangle+drains > Paladin)
1x Spellsinger
1x Sorceror
2x Destroyer(NM heavy, +4 str only, Elysian with health+shield(stun and closing the gap), Dragon Slayer with Health for close fighting, Draconic Bow Focus for Frenzy.)
1x Necromancer
1x Bladedancer
1x Warcryer(all needed buffs)
1x Bishop(ww+heal+body of avatar)
No tank, why every one knows they suck in pvp.
no glad, their M df sucks and need to get too close.
Destoryer isn't a bad idea; not my first. tyrant isn't bad but can get rooted or para'd easily.
Group should be:
2 Necro.
1 Scor.
1 sagittriuos.
1 BD.
1 SwS.
1 OL.
1 bishop.
1 ES.
Ok, now: I choose SwS cause of 3 songs (run speed "cause mages are slow", HP "lets your group take more dmg", Def. song of choise "darkness" "p df" Ic.)(lvl 78 has a song that improves on all classes, by decreaseing mp use and increaseing regen.)
BD, needs to keep up 3 dances; cast speed, M Atk, p atk speed.
Necro's X 2, cause 1 they have same skills as SH, cast speed is faster, hit lil less but take alot more dmg with your summons out(new C4 buffs hit summons as do dances/songs)
basicly they own.
sagittrious (HE): for long range stuns to the enimys healer. and more Dmg then SR. (not talking about crts)
1 ES, cause they got the best nuker/healer summon & group cubic. They can keep mp use low, and regen mp faster. and most don't think about the summoner as a DD, but they hit really hard. (which you know that OL's take alot of mp)
overlord: why cause of a few reasons: for one they have all of the best buffs for nulers, and melly buffs as well. they can heal CP, and can drain (which hurts). they gout AoE atks, and can sleep AoE, root AoE and so on. CoL: can heal the whole group.
Scor.: I say cause of cancel, slow and only a few basic atks, so less keys to fumble with. hit harder then sps, but a bit slower. and can lay out AoE's.
Now one thing I'd like to point out, is feesibly with this kind of set up, you don't have a 9 man group you got a 12 man group, cause of the ES summon and the two summons of the 2 necro's, and that makes this group stronger. you got your dmg covered and your defence as well( OL, SwS, bishop).
Most pvp is over in secounds, you need to cover your 6 so that you can max out protection, at the same time dmg out put.
while assigning certian classes to specific roles.
IE: necro's silence & para other mages/OL's, sagittrious stuns the healer, while the summons take out any close range type classes (daggers, Glads, tryants).
now you can agree, or agree to disagree. but this is a fairly good set up.
You can't get 2 necros.. only one Summoner class is allowed.
That said, to not bring with you an ES who can Party Cure "Root, Para, Sleep and Stun" for your entire team at once and Increase the Nuker DPS and healer's Battleheal abilities.. with an Aqua cubic (1500+ dmg DoT uncurable) for each members to top it off... is suicidal ;)
Your necro against that offers what.. nothing, especially if the opponent party has an ES with them ;)

Don't be so fast to pick Hell Knights... wise pvp players know that at the start of a 9v9 fight in confined spaces, no heals need to be made, so summons like a panther are always a first cast root target for healer classes.
Once the panther is decomissioned, your left with a slow tank that can use stun, which is okay..
But, I'd rather go with a tank class that has speed, damage/debuff survivability and the most effective interrupt skills, and one that can heal targets.
In order, I'd take:
1. Eva's Templar: anyone that plays a L77+ ET knows how unbelievably disruptive it is to have an ET using shield bash every three seconds on you.. your skills are instantly interrupted, you lose your target, and you usually get a two-seocnd stun to top it off. ETs are very fast too, and have magic mirror to survive debuffs, and touch of life to dish a once-off huge heal in a match that also gives the target among other benefits 100 hp/tic for 1 minute. They also have the added benefit of holy armor which provides significant protection against necros who will be fundamental to each group.
2. Shillien Templars. They get shield bash, the single most important skill to a tank in L2Battle. They also get magic mirror, and some good debuffs with attacks that can make a difference if used at the right time in a fight.
3. Phoenix Knights. While being slow, they do get stuns and touch of life, in addition to their other unique heals/sacrifice.
4. Hell Knight. even tho the kitty is usually dead or rooted from the get-go, they can still stun and have large HP to survive.
The best team will be one that can take out various combinations of characters. As there will be at least some variation in the team selection I think it's good to be adaptive.
As a result of this my ideal team would be (assuming all level 78):
Eva's Templar - Shield Bash + Vengeance + Magical Mirror great skills for a Tank class, might not have that much effect but could well make a difference.
Myst Muse - Light Vortex + Cancel, keeping the damage varied from one type is important and the speed of a Myst Muse will probably be useful.
Storm Screamer - Wind Vortex/Dark Vortex, there for pure damage per hit, slower casting speed but much more damage and works well with a Necromancer.
Dreadnought - Shock Blast + Earthquake will deliver a huge blow to any enemy and Parry Stance should increase the durability of the Dreadnought.
Grand Khavitari - Need something fast that is capable of closing distance fast and disabling fast moving classes. Can deal a great deal of damage in a very short space of time and take a lot of punishment.
Soul Taker - Obvious choice, Gloom + Dark Vortex and a nuking summon which also makes them very hard to kill. Can also go the Cursed Man route for some Stun abuse. Also able to seal melee and magic skills in one.
Spectral Dancer - Cast speed will make more difference than the defensive Song's offered by the Sword Muse. Probably go the way of Conc/Mystic/Siren/Water Guard.
Dominator - Acumen/Zerk/Empower/Magic Barrier and all the rest. Melee's will have to do without Haste2 and Focus3 but that will not be an issue with the way this team is setup. Able to CP Heal, AoE debuff, stun and sustain heavy damage.
Cardinal - Most powerful heals, Body of Avatar to have the highest HP which is a huge advantage over those that wanted SE's in their teams. Can give the Melee's Focus1 which is not all that bad. Able to buff Divine Protection, which will be essential as you are almost definitely going to face a Necro/Soul Taker in every team. If they allowed ressing the Cardinal would become even greater for this type of competition.
That's my team, I think it's well suited to any type of enemy they would face and will be extremely difficult to beat.
I'd love to see more teams that people come up with :)

There are. Check l2 blah.
It'll still be a bad idea anyway. It has been said Overlord buffs effect the opposition too. :P
Assuming that rezzing is allowed and enough time to buff before the fight starts:
1xSK
2xHawkeye
2xWS,Glad or Tyr
1xWL
1xBD
1xProphet
1xBishop
If rezzing is allowed, i can't image any better combination then Prophet and Bishop. Actually even without rezzing it might be the best pick. From this base i'd try to max out the physical damage.
SK - tank class with most damage potential and tanks get killed last anyways, right? so besides SK only DA(kitty) would be an option here for me
HE - range + lots of hp + lots of damage
WS/Glad/Tyr - i don't have much inside info about these classes , but from my expierence they'd be best pick here
WL - crit chance and crit damage++
BD - well for buffs, plus DD abilities
Prophet - best buffs, can rebuff if somebody got canceled, backup healer and rezzer
Bishop - best healer/rezzer class
