Player Questions Started Last reply 8 posts
Dear All,
I'm just came to lineage 2 from warcraft, and I'm enjoying it alot. There are a few things that confuse me though, so I thought I'd ask some questions here. I'm playing a human mystic (17 atm) with an eye to becoming a cleric, and eventually a bishop. My first question. Is there any way, either from potions or gear, to reduce the time I spend waiting for mana? I play with a fighter friend, and we just roll along briskly with me healing him, until I Run out of mana. Then it takes forever for me to regen. In the mean time, he just keeps killing. Is there anything I can do about this? Second, and related to my first question, what kind of gear sould I get/save for? I have the devout set that gives a casting speed bonus. Nothing else looks as good as that for a healer, untill you get into the 200k range which I cant currently afford. What weapons/rings/necks should I be looking at. The ones at my lvl seem to give +Def, which doesnt seem like a great stat for a healer. Should I just take w/e untill I'm higher up? My final question relates to the best area for a fighter and a mystic to group together in. Right now we've been hanging outside of gludin, killing lizard men, which seems like decent xp. Are there any better spots?
Regards,
Belje

Hi, and welcome to L2. :) As I play an Elven Elder, I'll try to help you a bit with some answers to these.

My first question. Is there any way, either from potions or gear, to reduce the time I spend waiting for mana? [...] Is there anything I can do about this?

Unfortunately, at lower levels, not really. It's going to be pretty bad until your 20's, at least, so it was for me. Then you'll get some passive skills that should help you.

Devotion set is the best no-grade you can get. If you're at 17 already, you don't need to invest in an uber-weapon just yet. Save your adena for D-grade.

What weapons/rings/necks should I be looking at. The ones at my lvl seem to give +Def, which doesnt seem like a great stat for a healer. Should I just take w/e untill I'm higher up?

Yeah, I'd hold off on jewelry. Take the basics, wait 'til 20 when you can wear D-grade. Use the quest ones around the towns 'til then.

Gludin is good, Gludio also has good hunting areas. When you're 20's, Abandoned Camp and the Ruins are excellent. Plus, AC (Abandoned Camp) has a great quest that starts with an NPC at the southern entrance of Gludin. There's a quest for the Ruins as well, that you pick up from Guard Curtis in Gludio.

What server are you on, by the way?

Sitting only, but you probalby know that already =)
If you do not help the fighter killing things you can just sit when he is killing, by this your's MP will last longer.

Extra pdef is always nice, but it is not any critical for you. If you have some extra adena buy soots/gloves/helm, then jevelery. The best D grade (from lvl 20) set costs may be around 400-500k for top+bottom, gloves cost another 1.5-2mil. you will be unlykely to get those when you will turn 20, unles you will be lucky on tyhis event or farm for money in some other way. Other then thay you should just go for ones with higher MP bonus.
Thanks for taking the time to answer guys. That clears some stuff up for me. I'm on the server gustin btw.
One other nooby question. Is there any way to tell the class/lvl of another player? Something similar to /who command in WoW?

No, not now, not ever.

You can have an idea of what class they are If you party up with the person, otherwise you just gotta look at what they wear or sport for a weapon.

Although now it is becoming ever more difficult to do that because of the added Subclasses. Since the ultra high level peple can have upto 3 Subclasses, good luck figuring this one out :p

There is no way to tell their level. That is because unlike WoW, Lineage is ALL about PvP. So any advantage you have, you use it. Hiding Level and Class from everyone else is one such advantage.

I could heal without downtime at your level. Just don't use battle heal, only in emergencies. And don't use group heal below level 25 to 30. You need a tank in your party. That is a very strong player that doesn't need continuous healing. If the HP bar of your party members drop very fast there is no way to go on without a (better) tank.

Something I would like to add that hasn't been said yet is that using /walk allows you to regen mana a little better. Mana regen suffers a little more when you're running then when you're walking and when you need to run just type /run.
